Before you go to Tampa General Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Tampa emergency room think.
Zachary Bloom⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedYou have to Understand that the hospital is on Bipass. So they are super busy, and I totally understand the wait time. My Fiance fainted and they took great care for her. Staff was amazing, hospital rooms were very clean.alicia winkler⭐️⭐️I was awaiting approval for Medicaid when I came here, but they told me I qualify for the charity financial assistance program and I would not be billed for the visit…today I received bills in the mail that added up almost 5 figures total. Am I seriously missing something??? The doctors were very courteous and professional, but I seriously regret coming here not knowing it would put me such debt that I will literally never be able to pay off just for blood work and an ultrasound.Melanie AnthonyThis is a joke. The personnel when first entering is fantastic-initial assessment including EKG, temp, blood pressure all good. Beyond that, a flat-out joke. We went for heart concerns/issue with 86 YO and a history of heart attack. What ER has a 3 hr wait time for heart concerns just to have blood drawn. The staff is a 50/50 call. Who in the world prepares these people for the real world. My advice! Research where the best ER care is in FL, and as long as you are 5 hours away-you will be better off driving and will recieve better attention & care.Kyle CarnahanThis facility could be so much better. Very disorganized and a breeding ground for disease and rude, disrespectful, staff. We spent over 7 hours just in the waiting room after triage for a very painful broken and dislocated shoulder. I overheard several hospital employees stating they are constantly overwhelmed, under staffed and under paid. If you do come here, absolutely prepare yourself for a very long wait, regardless of the time of day.AnaAfter going here I was told nothing was wrong with me, that I was lying, AFTER GOING HERE I WAS RELEASED WITH NOTHING THEN I GOT SICKER LANDING ME IN A DIFFERENT ER. I AM SUING FOR MALPRACTICE. WASTED 6 HOURS OF MY TIME TO TELL ME THAT 100.4 ISNT A FEVER. This place is terribleKimSon VuWorst ER I ever went to. I came in for herniated disc pain in my lower back. Waited 4 hours from 8pm to 12:44am siting on the chair. 4 people came in after me and got inside before me. I guess my herniated disc pain is not important to them as other. And yes I’m still waiting!! Would never ever come back again. I thought this hospital was rated good. Wrong! Don’t judge the place by it cover.Mimi KøhlerHave been in the waiting room for HOURS waiting to get an x-ray for a busted tailbone. I can barely sit and after 4 hours of waiting, they told me to pee in a cup and ignored me after that. Honestly going to just go to Brandon tomorrow for care, even though it’s out of my way – it’s not worth the wait. At all.Larry WeatherfordJust don’t care for people and lie to youMatt BergerstockIf I could rate this less I would. Went in for food poisoning after 2hrs of waiting for anyone to acknowledge me I asked and was told we are tampa general we are very busy you will have to wait. So I threw up in my chair and went to Brandon where I was treated like a human being and not a scanner. Pleas please avoid tampa general at all cost. It will cost you and you will be a number not a patientRyan M⭐️⭐️⭐️Mixed feeling about my experience. I was checked in and evaluated by a nurse promptly. Then I got evaluated by the doctor and had several tests done because I could not stop vomiting. All of this happened within the first hour, which in my book is a win for the ER. Here is the problem. I waited 2.5 hours to get the results and when the results were ready, the nurse tried to discharge me without explaining the results or letting me speak to the doctor. After demanding to see the doctor again, she was very pompous and ignored a lot of my questions. I definitely feel like she didn’t care at all. Free valet is a plus I guess.Consultant GroupZero not even 1 star..DO not go to this emergency room .they will discard you .this place is like a junior high school GAME .they are not equipped for seriously I’ll people and they don’t know what they’re doing.you will end up SICKER because of their lack of any knowledge regarding INFECTIONS. Furthermore be careful …I know my blood was all over my arms on the rails of their bed …and be prepared to be shoved into a hall..and they don’t know what the word CULTURE means.or they’re too lazy to LISTEN to a patient…I ask you “what kind of doctor disregards extremely swollen arms lymph..a 1/2 collapsed face.. and a swollen fluid filled upper back?..EXTREMELY POOR bordering NO correct medical care and they should be ashamed!Freddie Tennell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent experience considering the circumstances. Great care, very nice personnel! Took great care of me!!!Marant89 Marant89Worst place ever. Three hours of waiting to be seeing by a nurse. Nobody has an idea of anything. Nurses are rude to patients and do not even look at the patient in the face. THIS IS NOT FOR FREE IN OUR CASE. WE PAY FOR OUR GOOD HEALTHCARE. NON EMPATHETIC STAFF EXCEPT ONE NURSE AT ADMITIONS AND A CNA. THE REST SHOULD QUIT. OH WAIT WHITE PEOPLE GOES IN FIRSTkelly kundrotPretty sure I have an umbilical hernia at a recent surgical site. 3hr and counting and I’m still sitting in the lobby with my guts coming out my belly buttonKyle JonesA MATTER OF LIFE!!!!! I went to Tampa General Hospital emergency service at 01/12/2019 with my son (2 years old) He has had high fever for four days, no flue, no any more symptoms, just high fever.we tried Tylenol, Motrin but it didn’t work. Dr.solution: use both medicine (Tylenol and Motrin) every 3 hours and She send us back home. 2 days later; we went to St. Joseph’s Hospital emergency service with Same problem: just high fever. Dr.solution: we can not send you home, we need to find reasons for high fever. You need to stay here!!! LISTEN!!!!! YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!! ST.JOSEPH HOSPITAL FOUND INFLAMMATION IN HIS BRAIN !!!! Next Day! If we went back to Tampa General Hospital,my baby would have suffered more and maybe … We are still in hospital, I cried everyday for my son. I’M STILL CRYING WHEN I WRITE THIS…Laura Fa Sho!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame in 5/4/19 around 1230 or 1pm for head trauma with positive LOC and right rib pain after a motocross crash. Was seen right away and got me off that uncomfortable backboard. Tests were done in a timely manner. My visit was somewhat foggy due to my head trauma but everyone was nice and patient with me. They also treated my boyfriend with respect. I don’t remember my nurse’s name but it was a young male and there was a female that helped me up to use the bathroom (which was in the room). My docs were Lazcano and Barnathan. Thank you to everyone involved in my care.Bill Hsomething⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNobody likes going to the hospital, but Tampa General was professional, friendly, compassionate, and courteous in our time of need. Thank you to all the staff.JillThey definitely don’t even deserve 1 star. My son and friend were in a 1 car accident, and transported by ambulance. They were treated like criminals, even after they passed a sobriety test. Apparently they ASSUME a 1 car accident has alcohol or drugs involved. Even after witnesses said they were cut off, that’s why they crashed. Both boys hit their heads on windshield, yet not checked for concussion. We had to ASK the Dr to please remove the glass embedded in them before we left. One couldn’t physically walk themself out of the hospital, not even a wheelchair offered. Best part.. My son was given somebody else’s discharge papers with all their private info on it. HIPPA? Months later we are still receiving somebody else’s medical bills! Avoid this hospital at all costs!Nelson Morales⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWonderful staff. Helping me lose weight and keeping it off. The staff at the bariatric clinic are very supportive and knowledgeable.Harlowe’s Fun WorldAs I write this I continue to sit in the waiting room. I’ve been here now for over 6 hours. DONT COME HERE! YOULL NEVER LEAVE!William KlaseER wait time is absurdly high in comparison to other ERs I have been to.Danielle ButlerWould give 0 stats if I could. Got misdiagnosed and almost sent home twice on two serious issues. Which is scary because I was PREGNANT and it put my baby at risk . First time I went in complaining of excruciating side pain from my kidneys . They went back and forth with me saying it was just a uti and tried to send me home . After arguing with them because I knew my pain was too extreme to just be a uti they took a untrasound of my kidneys and found out I was right !!! It was more serious. Second time my water broke . I went in and they said it didn’t break maybe it was sperm (can you believe that !!! Sperm?! Really ?? When it was a gush of water that wet up my whole floor and car on the way there ) They were about to send me home ! After yelling at them cause I knew my water broke a 3rd doctor came in and took a ultrasound and seen my baby had no fluid around it , and seen MY WATER DID BREAK!!! I just wasn’t dialated enough . They finally admitted me and induced me to hurry and get the baby out . My baby could have died if I had listened to the first two doctors and just went home . They seem like they just say anything to get you out of there . After giving birth our toilet flooded our whole room . I woke up to the worst smell ever and up to my ankles in water . Not a good experience for a mother who just delivered and baby . Find somewhere else to go , this is the worst hospital ever!Cheryl BatesThey act like they dont careLa’Naysia Harris⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Nana BRENDA is Amazing at her job i love u and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORKRoadkillSpatulaSat in the lobby for two hours, then another hour in a triage room. Nurses came and went for another two hours and did a pressure test on my wife’s eyes. Turns out only an ophthalmologist can do a dilation to check the retina and the doctor went home for a while. If we want to wait another hour and a half we can see him. So we’re going home with no answers having wasted 5 hours.Krista Deeson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband was airlifted in from an outside hospital, taken straight to OR, then up to ICU. Everyone from the flight crew, nurses, doctors, PT, RT, OT & even the cleaning staff…all teams involved communicated and worked together to provide the best formulated care available. Truly refeshing to see doctors put aside egos, and work together for the benefit of the patient. Really a great hospital.B Aspen GloverMY EXPERIENCE: I have chronic pancreatitis which incapacitate me at any point in time. 10/10 pain, unable to stand, grabbing onto furniture for support…..I’ve gotten “triaged” almost 3 hours ago. THAT’S IT. My outward pain goes away around 2 hours in, then returns on and off until it goes away completely. I’m not new to this routine, my enzyme levels dangerously high-deathly high. Also, I’ve been hospitalized TWICE for it with them. They would see if they just paid attention to my record. I do not want to discredit and providers or nurses at this facility. However, I feel completely neglected and would rather visit any other facility than this one.Lloyd NechtmanStaff doesn’t communicate results nor check in after hours to give any updates. Worse off, they seem fairly rude when you ask for any information, even when they realize they hadn’t come back with test results which had been sent back hours earlier. Very unprofessional!Ashley DowdThe worst experience ever!!! Got to the ER at 11pm, and wasn’t seen until 4:45am. Meanwhile, sat in the lobby amongst throw up and blood. Patients bleeding with NO care. Watched the nurse walk over throw up twice without cleaning it. They didn’t ask for any insurance information, no registration for 5+ hours. When I asked for the wait time, they said they couldn’t “disclose” that information. The nurses acted like zombies and almost like they didn’t even know what was going on. Finally when I got a room at 5am, there was blood on the bedside table, and dirty sheets. The security guard looked like Humpty Dumpty and kept kicking the only vending machine because it was broken. Finally out of all the crazies, we had one RN that actually made sense when she spoke, but I never saw the doctor once. I asked the staff why my experience was like this here and not other hospitals. They told me “TGH is like the Walmart of hospitals” LOL- will NEVER go back.nicole grayson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat hospitalSam Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEmergency room was very organized and there was not a long wait.Stanley MayI sat in emergency room in pain for three hours with no assistance. I just moved to the area and this was the worst hospital visit ever. Understaffed and Unprofessional..madelin camachoMy husband has been in the waiting room for 7 hrs. He’s pain is getting worse and no one cares I understand he is not the only one. But as much pain as he is in they should at least try to get him a bed and this is on a Tuesday night I can’t imagine on weekendsCyntia FHorrible experience. People at night don’t have patience and they don’t have a good customer service. Registration, security and the nurses around dont care about people.Heather BertelsHorrible…don’t come 1here if you’re injured…it’s a 12 hour wait!!!!Sexi AnmweTGH is the worse hospital ever don’t go thete
