Before you go to UAMS, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Little Rock emergency room think.
Josh BarnesWorst ER I’ve ever visited. Despite the fact that they didn’t seem to be busy when we came in, we waited forever, only to end up being seen in the hallway and then turned away with a prescription for lidocaine patches, which they told us was pointless, for her pain and nothing for her cough. We were told that she had an upper respiratory infection and “those are all viral, so there’s nothing we can do”. Yesterday she went to our PCP. Turns out it’s double pneumonia. Great job, UAMS.Shelly LoydBrought my fiancee in last night, they did vitals, had us sit back in waiting room. 1.5 hr later they called him for labs then back to waiting room area. We where there 4hrs I sat and watch ppl really sick leave probably to go to another facility. Bottom line he did not get seen. No lab results no nothing. I was told “we don’t see him as urgent”and had 8 ppl ahead of him. I do NOT want to see a bill ! Totally disgusted right now. Our PCP left your facility and we just hanging trying see who will see us.John Grimes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIn and out in 1.5 hrs……knee pain…..they were awesome. Got a shot and pain meds….Mrs.Tiffany KralWaited over 4 hours..(and still waiting) before getting seen. Waited so long they had to retake my vitals at triage.Makayla LowranceLiterally there are people here with broken necks that have been waiting for 7 hours! How is that not urgent?! There is no reason for this. I walked back to get a blanket and saw AT LEAST 12 doctors just lounging around drinking cokes and laughing with each other doing nothing at all! This is ridiculous! They aren’t busy back there if that many doctors have that much time on their handsSelby LeBlancFirst off, I’ve never been inclined to write a review until now. I have been waiting, and am still waiting for over 5 1/2 hours In the waiting room. They did an x-ray as well as take my vitals, and then put me back in the waiting area. Multiple people have been waiting hours, and we’ve all talked to someone asking when we will be seen. They keep telling us it goes by priority and that is all. For being a large University hospital, this is by far the worst. I have never waited so log fo care in my life, let alone an emergency room. Don’t ever come here, period.Alex LanisDue to circumstances beyond my control, I am in Medicaid for the month of August and UAMS is one of the only places I can go, especially on a weekend. While I’ve never had to wait long (if you go in in the early morning there is basically no wait), my most recent experiences here have been miserable. I am currently sick with one of the most severe illnesses in my life. For six days, and counting, my temp will increase to over 103 without antipyretics. My throat hurts so bad I haven’t been able to eat or drink for days. This is just a week after coming off a strep throat infection that made me very ill too, but nothing like this. UAMS made me feel as if they were treating me as a junkie trying to get a fix instead of who I actually was, a really sick human being trying to get help. The Resident Physician on staff, Dr. P, actually seemed more inclined to help than the actual physician. She seemed to be interested to do tests, and the nurses took my blood and saliva samples. But the other doctor came in and basically said “we think it’s strep, so there’s no point in testing. That’ll just cost more.” Never mind the fact that I told them I have been on antibiotics since day one and they haven’t done anything. Never mind the fact that I just had strep and this definitely wasn’t it. Never mind that my vitals were way off my normals, too. The doctors had solved it in their own minds and ignored everything else. They were also completely obsessed with getting my temperature down like my fever was the disease. Didn’t these doctors go to med school? Why on earth were they focusing on getting my fever down instead of focused on figuring out what was causing my fever. On a follow-up day’s later, I was in tears because I was so incredibly dehydrated and malnourished. The additional antibiotics they put me on had done nothing. The PA’s comment was only “well let’s get you on a steroid to help you put things down”. Again, no attempt actually find out what’s going on. No response to my inquiries. I snuck out after waiting 45 minutes to see the physician. This was 9am on a Saturday, the ER was empty. I have steroids. I have Tylenol. I need doctors to do actual doctoring. I should have fought harder to get the tests and care I deserved. I should have questioned their practices and interpretations. But I expected UAMS physicians to be both experts and to be there for their patients. They let me down and I’m left having to navigate my illness alone.Mr LewisSo long story short… came in and had chest pain with shortness of breathe and i was coughing up mouthfuls of mucus and they sent me home and said it was just a cold. that same night ended up passing out and my wife drove me to er in jacksonville and they are the ones who told me what all was wrong ( had a lung full of pneumonia and a staff infection in my blood stream )and was admitted to the ICU and was told if i had waited even a day longer i would have died. i’d recommend going anywhere else other than here if you value your life.Nikki Ball⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe best experience we have ever had in an ER.. they were fast at getting you back and doctors were very thorough!! Nurses were great! My mother had several issues going on so it took a little while to figure it all out and get to the bottom of it.. but they did! Overall a great experience!Chandler MeeksTook six and a half hours to get a room for an open laceration on the forehead then four more hours to receive scans and stitches.Karen VandiverI had the worst esperit’s here I was here Monday and back on Thursday said in memory that save Room for over 8 hours before I got seenKam LewisBeen here for 3 and have seen a doctor onceSantana WilsonBeen here for 3 hours. Still waiting to be seen. Not enough staff or space to care for the large number of patients. They will spend PLENTY of time repeatedly calling the same peoples name over and over again while they are nowhere to be found.Cummins Sunshine BearWaited for almost FIVE hours never to be seen. Thaaaaaanks all you drug seekers for messing it up for everyone else. I’m sure Drs get so burnt out having to deal with liars all day and night. Sucks for those of us that actually need emergency treatment. Never again.Kimberly HuskeyAbsolutely worse place. Go ANYWHERE else!R. Keith BaskettI was in a car accident and the medical staff and Dr.’s seemed to be more concerned that I was there seeking drugs. Instead of listening to me about my injuries and that I had something wrong with my ribs, I was informed that I was on pain management ( ironically I had just seen my pain management physician and informed them of that fact and had prescriptions in my car) and they could do nothing else for me. I was told to wait and after more than 30 minutes waiting I walked out and had treatment else where. Poor treatment and nasty personnel. I guess if your leg was ripped off it might be a good emergency services system but I would choose another care facility next time. And I use there clinics and have nothing but the best care at them, makes me wonder though. …..Brittany ManningIm pregnant been bleeding and having sever headaches. Waited an hour never been seen. While waiting they repleatedly called for this one person.DD WilliamsonWent to ER with severe pain in my abdomen. The triage nurse was nice. The wait time to get admitted was speedy. The problem was with a doctor. When I was finally seen by the doctor, she walked in, listened to my chest, asked when I took my last dose of medication for my symptoms and walked out. I had given blood, urine and told everyone seen what the problem was. When a tech came to my room for a CT scan I asked to see the doctor to see what her thoughts were about my case and asked for something for the severe pain. She took a nasty attitude and told me that I told the nurse I refused the CT scan. She raised her voice at me, rolled her eyes and told me that she wouldn’t give me anything for pain until a family member was in my room. Turned and walked out. I never saw the doctor after the episode. I didn’t refuse the CT scan as a matter of fact I did everything she asked. My husband came in, received pain medication but no results from all the test run and discharged. I don’t live in this state and would say if something else happened while my visit in the area I wouldn’t step foot in this hospital. Dr. S. Cody needs to take a Bedside Manner Refresh course if there is such a thing.Kathleen HarrisI have never seen anyone this slow I my life.Debbie BryanWait is 6 hours. They play beauty shop and the dating game .Francisco MendozaMy mother went there and she was having surgery and right after it they sent her out and i was like literally she just had surgeryRachelle HJust Horrible! He never looked where my complaint was at allGeorgianna Freeman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI AM FROM SHERIDAN ARK. I RECOMEND THIS HOSPITAL, EVERY THING WAS CLEAN AND IN ORDER. MY DR WAS DR.M DUCET. I RECOMEND HIM TOO. GEORGIANNA FREEMANsherry willeyi was in the er last night, i was diagnosed with mediastinum which is basically a tumor or mass on my heart, i had been in the er about three weeks earlier with pain concerning the basically the same thing, i get there, get checked in 3 hours later i see a dr, took an xray and told me what was wrong he said it was serious, and ordered a ct scan with dye, im allergic to iodine so they gave me the usual benadryl and steroids, so i had to have an iv, the nurse sticks me about 5 times before he can get a vein, ok im trying to be patient and nice. in the meantime the first dr just leaves i guess his shift is over or something but then another dr comes in says were gonna do the ct scan now, ok, i get the ct scan, when i get back to the room i start coughing i asked the nurse am i having a reaction to the dye, she said i dont know, so the dr comes and and hes very rude he says you are not having a reaction you had benadryl and steroids, you want some adavan to calm you down? i was like but im not upset i just asked a question, i dont need to be sedated, i said no i dont want adavan, time passes, he comes back in and says welll i dont think you have what the other dr says you have i think its swollen lymph nodes, in my chest? well ok, he told me to see my oncologist i am a breast cancer survivor of one year, i said ok, im thinking i just want to go home, to hell with the pain, so i ask him i said can i have something to help me rest tonight he said you want some adavan? again with the adavan, i said well since im going home sure why not, thats the last thing i remember, i dont know how much he gave me, but, apparantly they did an ultrasound on my arm while i was knocked out, and i also used the bathroom all over myself while i was out, it was a very scary thing to go through, when i got to myself a little bit i realized what had happened nobody had been in the room for i dont know how long to even check on me, so, i got some clean gowns out of the closet barely managed to walk to the bathroom across the hall and clean myself up and put on two of the nightgowns, i came back into the room and the nurse handed me my papers and said ok have a good night, i walked out to the waiting area and got in the car with my husband, who had left to go get something to eat, this was the scariest experience i have ever had dont go to st vincent whatever you doAllie Dobson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEmergency time3yao sisavathvongsayMom scheduled to have an IR between 8 am -10am, now is 3pm still no doctors to be found… All they giving her is pain killer… Mom haven’t eat all day long, asked the nurse about the situation and still no answer… Unprofessional!!!!
