Before you go to UCHealth – Arvada, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Arvada emergency room think.
katherine allen⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve visited this ER a couple of times so far. Once for my toddler and once for myself. I’m beyond impressed with the care and service here. I actually visited here tonight, and had such a good feeling from the experience that I felt compelled to write a review. Go here, they will take very very good care of you. Top notch bed-side manner by everyone I interacted with. They go above and beyond.Anne LoGrippo⭐️⭐️Dr. Catanach, if you’re going to talk and snicker about patients make sure their door is closed or else guess what – we can hear you! Or take some friendly advice – be a little more professional by not snickering at all! I don’t care if my accident “sounds weird” to you and the staff! If it “sounded so weird” be the professional adult who talks to the patient about it, and not use my accident as office gossip!! Unprofessionalism manners like this make me question your ability to diagnose and treat because of a biased, catty, child-like mentality. I can’t believe I even have to say this!Sarah JohannesCompletely misdiagnosed – said that I simply had a cold. Went elsewhere and learned that my strep throat was back and it was good I came in for immediate attention. Will never go back.marzena hawrylaIf it was possible I’d give 0 stars! Came here after I had my tonsils removed. My scab broke and I started hemoraging from my throat very bad. I’m dropped off and I run in choking on my own blood, and the girl at the front is insisting on my I.D when I’m coughing blood everywhere and can’t talk. Instead of getting me help she just stared at me. Thank God my friend came right in after me to tell them to take care of me and I’d get them my I.D while being treated. Doctor came in all casual no sense of urgency. He gives me a fluid to gargle to constrict the arteries. Did that and he left me in the room. My heart started pounding out of my chest and my legs started going numb…I panicked but was scared to stand up since they where numb….my friend grabbed the doctor for me. I was then told to calm down and that it’s a normal feeling from what he gave me…well it would have been nice to be told that before hand. It was thanksgiving 2018 and NO ONE was there but staff…I was the only patient they had and treated me like they where so busy…when my friend grabbed the doctor he was chatting amongst staff instead of helping me or explaining anything to me. I have good insurance and this place is ONLY after your money!!! This visit being 45min cost double what my tonsils surgery cost! NEVER GO HERE!Hillary StuberThe care was good, but the cost was ridiculous! My daughter was in the facility for 1 hour and received one oral medication. They categorized this as a level 3 visit and charged $1807! They did not list their prices online, unlike some other UCHealth emergency rooms (unfortunately I didn’t realize this until afterwards). Do your research before you go or it could cost you a TON of money.Emily FarrellCare was great, but the rest is a fraud. These people have charged my family over $8000 and I never know when the bills will quit. I have really good insurance that is “out of network” which they don’t tell you, these people are crooks. DON’T GO!Angelia RomeroI came in for a breathing treatment after work and from the start the staff was completely rude I then ended up getting 2 breathing treatments but then ended up telling them about some nausea I had earlier in the day. I got ignored. Than the doctor comes in and was just as rude as the nurse. He than left the room and I over hear him trash talking me! If I come in for this visit and spend 1,000-2,000$ you can at least do what I ask, and you can be nice!Mindy HoneyWent in today because I believe I might have walking pneumonia. Lady at the front desk basically asked me why I was there and not at my primary care doctor, and “well, we can’t refuse to see you.” Told her I was having trouble breathing and might just need an inhaler or something. She said they would not prescribe that to me. Then I asked if she would check my insurance and she said she couldn’t until after I saw the doctor. This leads me to believe they are trying to fool people and get the most money possible. I see many other reviews stating they felt scammed because they wouldn’t let patients know if they are in their insurance network or not. I left without getting any help. I wish I could say it was the first time, but it’s not. Only time they were helpful was when my husband needed stitches. If I could leave a negative star, I would.Claudia SchanilUpdate: I took my child to zipclinic at 72nd and sheridan where they informed me she has a staph infection on her face and nose and needs antibiotics. They were respectful and listened to my concerns Ill be filing a formal complaint with this clinic. I have been here three times. Every single time the staff seems annoyed that anyone has come in, even though there are no other patients. There is an attitude that is always unwelcoming that i have experienced over and over, and my family who has been here has also had the same experience. Well the last time will be just that, our last time. I didnt realized there was a difference between an UC and a freestanding ER. My 7 year old had a rash all over her face when i picked her up from school and i took her here in panic. Not only were we greeted with the usual shroud of annoyance but we were reprimanded for coming to the ER for the rash, yet they insisted on seeing us and not turning us away. My guess is legally they could not, so they just continued to be rude and pretend yo diagnose and treat. The nurse, a large guy, actually shouted in the hall to the doctor after seeing my child that “there wasn’t much to see” in an extremely condescending way. Doctor did not touch my child, gave me a packet of ointment. Told me he didn’t know what it was, maybe viral or eczema. Here we are a week later and my child still had the rash and it has gotten worse. If you have Medicaid or Medicare and you go here, get ready to be treated extra harsh. They will disrespect you and make it known, my guess is subsidized healthcare has a cap and they still have to treat so they can not nickle and dime the same way they do with provate insurance. This 5 minute visit where they failed to diagnose or treat my sick child was nearly $500 by the way. If you lack compassion or are burned out maybe it is time to switch careers?Christine Howland⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedReceived treatment immediately. No hesitation to eliminate severe pain.Kelsie Knudson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery clean, updated facility. Extremely caring, understanding and friendly staff. Considering the pain I was in, they made me as comfortable as possible and moved very quickly.Jeremy BournThis place is an absolute joke. $250 out of pocket just to be seen. My throat was closing, couldnt breathe or swallow. They Gave a penicillin RX without doing ANY testing. The doctor was more interested in talking about HIS psoriasis. Left, got MUCH worse went to Lutheran who were shocked that they gave penicillin, Lutheran fixed the problem within 30 minutes and I could breathe and swallow again. I have now just received two separate bills totaling an additional $932.15 DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE WORTHLESS AND DO NOTHING FOR AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICEArman LorzBrand new equipment for sure! I understand working on a Sunday night doesn’t make anyone happy. But neither is feeling sick and wanting help. The front desk girl was not friendly or welcoming at all. It seemed that I was a burden to her (given I was the only person at the facility). The approach by the physician (Dr. Lann), RN, and PA was professional, but also not gentle; it was too abrupt. I’d say, remember when you wanted to be in this profession because you care for the well being of others. Start with some compassion, please. After the X-ray, they became friendlier… I am not sure if this is the reason, but I wondered if that occurred because of the profit I will bring for using the X-ray machine. One only wonders. It is so unfortunate that people will continue to use your services no matter what, but great costumer service could add a great experience for all.Ben StrombergTook my son in as his blood pressure was dropping from complications from tonsil removal. Basically, bleeding out. Doctor couldn’t do anything. Ambulance to Children’s Hospital. Staff was more concerned about getting our information then helping my son or consoling my wife. VERY unprofessional, awful service and charged over 5k for an IV. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE.cayla bushman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAll of the staff was extremely friendly. I went on a day where it wasn’t busy and they had me in and out in under an hour! Very knowledgeable staff, awesome facility.ang hancock⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOur almost 5 year old split his chin open on a weekend. We didn’t want to head to a hospital and First Choice was close by and thankfully 24 hours. We were taken in right away and the Doctor on call and all nurses were great! Took care of our kiddo and were very friendly. He even got to watch cartoons while waiting to be stitched up. Very impressed with First Choice all around. We now have the info magnet on our fridge (hopefully won’t have to use it!) but nice to know they are close and readily available if we need them! Thanks for taking such great care of us. Doctor made a follow up call the next day to check on the patient. Very thorough and thoughtful! We’ve been to one other urgent care and I thought I was impressed by them. Then we experienced First Choice and I’m even MORE impressed! The Vault BrothersMy husband went here for a fractured elbow. He received multiple bills, totaling well over $400 (even after he paid his $100 copay), and all they did was take an x-ray and write him a prescription. I get that ER visit are expensive but their reasoning was that while the facility is in network with his insurance, but the actual doctors aren’t. They’re hired through US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) who bill separately, and let me tell you, they will completely RIP YOU OFF! DO NOT GO HERE!!! OR THE CENTURA ER/URGENT CARE near 64th and Quaker. BOO TO BOTH!Sarah King⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI visited First Choice last Thursday night for severe stomach pain. I was brought back to a room within 2 minutes. It took them about 10 minutes to see me and determine a course of action. Since I was sick, it seemed like forever before I got an IV and some medication to help with the pain, but in reality it was really only another 10 minutes or so. Pretty quick treatment from arriving to pain relief! The facility was very clean and everyone I met was helpful and very attentive to my needs. They printed out a lot of information/tips for me on steps to take at home to help me feel better. I didn’t feel completely better when I left and I don’t think that’s anything I can fault them for. I wasn’t rushed out and I was given an option to stay and do a ct scan or leave and check back the next day if I didn’t improve. I left and ended up coming back the next afternoon for stomach pain again. Re-checking in was very smooth and I experienced the same professionalism and helpfulness I did the previous day, but with a new set of staff. A few days later, I even received a ‘hope you’re feeling better’ card signed by the staff. 🙂 I felt better after my second visit and I would definitely recommend First Choice to others.Curtis Moats⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI unfortunately had to find an ER because as it turned out I broke my fifth metacarpal bone in my right hand hitting something. My wife and I were expecting a long, miserable day waiting in a hospital room just waiting to be seen by someone. We looked up reviews online and saw this place had excellent reviews, so we headed over. We were pleasantly surprised that when we showed up and as soon as I was finished with the paperwork they called me in! Dr. Benjamin Busch was the doctor that treated me and I was very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of both him and the entire staff!! It took a couple of attempts for Dr. Busch to set my bone back into place and he wasn’t sure if it was good enough to avoid needing surgery. He referred me to a hand specialist to make the call. I just saw the hand specialist today and they said he did a GREAT job at setting the bone back in place and splinting my hand! They said I definitely will not need surgery! Just want to say thank you to Dr. Busch and his staff! You really made that process quick and painless for my wife and I! I highly recommend this ER room if you need one!Olive DrinkinThe people are nice enough….but they did not tell me that everything was going to be out of network. So I got a $13,000 medical bill that I will be paying off for the rest of my life.Kristine LaneAfter receiving care for a cut. A couple stitches were needed. They charged $6,400 just for the Emergency Room fee and $8,074 total. Stating it is a Hospital. I do not see hospital anywhere on the website. My insurance will be looking into fraud charges. I will only remove this rating if UChealth reimburses our insurance and lowers our bill. Please know what you are paying for before you get care. Ask for the fees and charges first. And go to a Hospital or a better known urgent care facility instead if you really need urgent care.Brooke White⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a terrible kidney infection when I walked into the ER. I had a fever of over 103, mental confusion, and overall I just felt awful. Dr. Ted, RN John, RT Steve, and front desk Ashley were exceptionally professional, intelligent, and extremely caring. They offered me heated blankets and other amenities repeatedly, and tried to make me as comfortable as possible throughout my treatment. The day after my visit I received a phone call, ensuring I was feeling better. A couple days later I also received a “Hope you are feeling well” card, signed by all the staff. Great experience, great results, great follow-up, I would highly recommend UCHealth to anyone needing emergency services.Nat Weeks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOutstanding; better than I had hoped. Friendly greeting, no wait, interesting physician’s assistant and physician. Took the time to explain everything. Very personable and a decent price. I’m relieved and will use them again!Cassandra⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am so grateful this ER is now open and that the location is so convenient. I have been in twice now with pain and they have taken such good care of me. They were able to see me right away without having to wait and the staff was very friendly during the whole process. I saw Dr. Fallon and Dr. Albert and they were both amazing, knowledgeable, and helpful. They made me feel comfortable and made me feel like they really cared about me and what I was going through. The facility is extremely clean and peaceful. I highly recommend this place and will be using this as my ER facility from here on out.Tena WhiteFIND OTHER CARE!! I went in for a finger that had been chopped up by an elecetric hedge clipper. I was given a local anesthetic and stitches. No X-rays were taken although they should have been according to my primary care doc. I was told I HAD to return to this facility to have the stitches out but decided to be seen by my pcp instead. It took three nurses, and 3 different doctors to figure out how to remove stitches that had been glued down so carelessly that they were almost not removable!! I was literally asked by my MD (who did these!?!??) I told her exactly who! I’m so thankful I chose to NOT return for the follow up because my doctors office was horrified by what they saw! I received a bill in the mail stating that I owed $3000 AFTER insurance paid $2000!!!! They billed me over $5000 for shotty stitches and some super glue. It was such a rip off and not mention super sloppy care! They will not work with you on your bill, no matter what. They charged me $5200 for poorly done stictches!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!Brittany corciliusThis Place is a Joke I give this place Zero stars I went in for possible bronchitis and they really didn’t diagnose me with anything I do have shortness of breath and I can’t really breath that well and I asked for an inhaler i one before inhaler the doctor and the RN trash-talked behind the door saying that they think I don’t need an inhaler which I clearly do and after they gave me the inhaler they wrote two prescription inhaler that I needed and the other one was a spacer which I clearly didn’t need it was 20 bucks for spacer I didn’t get it these people don’t know what they are doing I’m going to go to Lutheran next time at least have some real doctors that know what they’re doingTaylor Harland⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe staff, nurses and doctor were all very warm and kind. Best hospital experience I’ve ever had. Dr. C is wonderful!Lindsey⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My experience at First Choice Emergency Room was great. The staff was very friendly and informative. They answered any questions that I had, and did a great job diagnosing me. I also liked the goody bag that I got at the end of my visit. That was something new! Overall, it was a great experience, and I wouldn’t mind using them again in the future.Andrea L⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI sliced my finger and required stitches. The staff were very helpful and kind and the facilities were really clean. I was in and out in little over an hour. They may have just been luck, but when I came back for post-op care and to remove the stitches I was also in and out quickly too. While I don’t want to, if an emergency came up, I would come back.Shelly Bier⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe day I went to this facility there was no waiting and I had immediate attention. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I liked that I was able to go to an urgent care type place and have more services available than other types of urgent care. I think the stand-alone ER is great idea, and much better than having to wait hours at a hospital!Debbie Howeth⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIf there were a higher rating than 5 stars I would give it to UCHealth Emergency Room. From the kind, compassionate friendly receptionist to the nurses and doctor I saw ~ everyone was VERY kind, helpful, compassionate, communicated a treatment plan clearly and swiftly ~ they genuinely cared about me. I have suffered with migraines for over two years now and ended up in many emergency rooms and even hospitalized. By far ~ UCHealth ER was the VERY BEST treatment I have ever received. I highly recommend the next time you need urgent care or ER service that you go to UCHealth Emergency Room!Marcie Kelley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent to First Choice for myself, I was pleasantly surprised with the facility. I didn’t know what to expect with a free standing ER not attached to a hospital. I was VERY clean, the staff was very helpful. I hardly waited at all to see a doctor, and the doctor introduced himself by first name. It was a very friendly atmosphere and relaxed. I received great care, good instructions for after care, and EVEN a follow up call from a doctor to see how I was doing the next day. Next time I have after hours medical needs, this is the first place I will be going. THANK YOUJennifer BalekI wish there was a way to give a zero star review! I will never visit this facility again. my daughter was very sick and needed antibiotics. Urgent care was closed, so this place was the only option. They looked at her and did a throat culture (at my suggestion). They then billed for $2400 in services. I thought there was some mistake, but after calling the billing department I was told that those charges were correct. No wonder there are so many people that can’t afford to get medical care for themselves and their children. I think it should be a crime to charge such outstanding amounts without needing to justify why. If you need to get help… Go ANYWHERE else if possible. I have never before taken the time to write a review, but I felt that people really should know what to expect from this place.Donette Homra⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI cut my knee and needed stitches. I was in and out in less time than if I had gone to my primary care physician’s office, and everyone was nice! I was informed of everything that was happening, as well as what to expect when I got home. The facility was immaculate, and the location is very convenient. I will continue to use First Choice Emergency Room if I need to, and will recommend it to my friends and family, as well.Melissa Fritz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe RN John, was one of the most caring individuals I have ever met. He genuinely cared about me and my health, he was very personable . Wish there was more people in this world like himAaron Conley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLovely experience. I was seen for a deep finger cut immediately when I walked in the door and handed my info to the person doing intake. They brought me the rest of their paperwork to fill out after the attentive doctor staff finished with giving me stitches. Overall I was there for about a half an hour and was treated with respect the whole time. Thank you!Lindsay Arroyo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedException ER and physician. I have never been in a hospital or ER where the Doctor personally attended to me more than any other caregivers or staff. I was driving home in Arvada when out of nowhere I suffered an allergic reaction so severe that the swelling in my face and throat blocked my airways. I had a matter of minutes to get treatment and thankfully I remembered this ER was close by. Within seconds I was taken back and within minutes they gave me the treatment to stop my allergic reaction. I had never suffered from any allergy, much less one so traumatic, and but for very quick action by my caregivers I could have suffocated. Dr. Street was the attending doctor and he spent more one-on-one time with me than his supporting staff. He helped me backtrack my steps including everything I ate to figure out what likely brought on such an extreme reaction. He monitored me personally throughout the four hours I was there, and asked me to return to the ER later that night so he could confirm my progress. It was refreshing such personal expert attention and I was grateful to be in good hands. In the end, Dr. Street even reduced the fee for my visit as it was not completely covered by my insurance. The entire experience from beginning to end was exceptional. I hope I don’t ever go the the ER again, but if I do, I will be going there.Jamie ParkinThis is without a doubt a scam. I would give this Zero Stars if I could. Do not use this “ER” you will be billed as out of network, so something that should cost a $300 CO-pay will cost you much more. I just moved out here from the Midwest and needed to go to an ER so I googled the closest one to my house. Which was this facility. 3 months later I have a $10k out of pocket bill that I have know idea how I’m going to pay it for because all of the services were billed as out of network. Should have costed me a $300 CO-Pay then 100% (deducatble waived) at a actual hospital ERBriana Fuller⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a very severe migraine and was home along with my 5 month son. I called them as I had received a magnet in the mail and they said there was no wait and it was no probably for me to come alone with him. They were so helpful and I barely finished the paperwork before I was called back. The staff was very friendly and the doctor even made Donald Duck voices to entertain my son, which he LOVED. They were very understanding and fast. I was treated and out within about an hour which is the fastest ER experience I have ever had. I will definitely recommend First Choice and they will continue to be MY First Choice.Mary Spenard⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedTop Notch: My daughter hates going to the doctor! She said this was by far the best experience she had ever had with any doctor. They got us in immediately. The facility is immaculate, the staff friendly, calm and knowledgeable, and the check in and out relatively painless. We will definitely use them again when emergency medical care is needed.Rachael KosteleckyThe service was excellent when I went in for a minor procedure that is where the 1 star comes from. I give -5 stars for the bill I received later and it was outrageous! I have a high deductible with my insurance and it was not met for the year. My bill was over $2000 and no discount was applied. I also payed a $100 copay for the visit the night I went in. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone!Shanna Olivarez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband and I took our 3 year old son here on Tuesday night because he had a laceration on his face. We waited maybe 2 minutes before they were ready for us. The entire experience was wonderful, the staff was amazing. Everyone from the nurses to the doctor. They were so gentle and kind to my son and us, and I was thrilled to NOT have to deal with a typical ER atmosphere. We were in and out within 1/2 an hour and they gave my son lots of stickers and suckers. This place is amazing!! I am very thankful they are here.Hannah Guida⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was absolutely in love with this place! I am frequently sick, so I am always at Urgent Care and ER type places but First Choice had the fastest service I have ever received. I was in and out within a half an hour with a prescription ready to be filled. Will definitely be going back. 5 Stars!Alyssa Aberle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis facility was extremely clean and beautiful. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted and welcomed. Before I even checked in, the nurse was waiting at the door to take me back to the exam room. All staff was knowledgeable, professional, and made me feel comfortable. The staff was quick and helpful. I’d definitely consider coming back.Tim Diaz Engstrand⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFirst of all, I want to thank those on staff who helped my son. The experience was the best we’ve ever had with an/every emergency we’ve been through! The Doctor, Staff and receptions … everyone was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable!! It was a great experience! We were in and out within 30 minutes, the facility was spotless, and everything was great! I will recommend and refer this place to all of my family, friends and neighbors. This is so much better than going to any emergency room or doctors office. I almost can’t wait to have another emergency (kidding)… Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about my experience! And, my husband was in here a week ago with a neighbor and his son and they had the same pleasant experience which he went on and on about back then ….. This was great! Thank you FCER!Codi Trochet⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had to go in last night for my 16 month old son. We waited for maybe 2 minutes before they called us back. I didn’t even finish my paperwork. They has us in and out within 30 minutes. With a prescription and a diagnosis. The facility was extremely clean, which is great. If I ever need to go to an emergency room, I will be going here. Great service and great staff. Thanks a lot!Richard Riley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSurprise, surprise after a walk with my wife and on our way back home I walked by a dog and it bit me in my right leg pretty good. It was even on a leash even though the owner should of been on a leash also. After injury it was needed to have attn so I remembered First Choice being close and not wanting to drive a distance to a hospital ER. After arriving at First Choice I was met very quickly and took care of me to great satisfaction. All the employees were nice and courteous and even joked with me to keep me at ease. Thanks You all for the help!!steph poland⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I went in with a cut finger needing stitches, they were very courteous at the front desk. I only waited 10 minutes including filling out paperwork which is amazing for a ER! The doctor and nurses were also very polite and made me feel very at ease. The doctor stitched me up and sent me on my way with everything I needed to know to make sure I heal up right! Thank you for taking such good care of your patients. I’m glad we live so close to the new ER too! -Stephanie PolandLori Wise⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI took my daughter in to be screened for strep and had an excellent experience.
