Before you go to UCHealth Emergency Care, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Colorado Springs emergency room think.
Jayme CusimanoStaff was friendly with the exception of the doctor. He was dismissive, openly annoyed to answer my questions, and provided only brief responses when requested to return to discuss concerns. I left feeling uncertain about the quality and thoroughness of care following a bad car accident. Further testing was recommended and completed by another doctor at Memorial Central ER, which solidified my concerns about the doctor at Memorial North.Evren AbaraviciDo not waste your time going there. My daughter had a chest pain and bad cough .After sign in nurse make us wait 1 hour. When I asked them 1st time when doctor is going to see my daughter they were explaining but kind of arguing with you. Very disrespectful. They were not busy at all.I saw NyC emergency rooms very busy doctors, nurses run around save people lives. they were not busy at all.Nurse was playing on her phone.Doctor no where to find. When I asked second time when doctor is going to see my daughter?they said all the rooms full and they have only 2 nurses and 1 doctor. My daughter got worse finally we left not seeing by doctor.Horrible hospital with lazy nurses and doctors.daughtstartHigh ASMR⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDoctors and nurse staff here are amazing and friendly, they did an amazing job of explaining exactly what was going on and how they were going to help. Would highly recommend.Roxanne Euber⭐️⭐️They are nice, and they mean well, but they have NO IDEA how to care for trans patients. You’ll spend more time answering questions and feeling like you’re educating them than actually getting care.Mike BHands down the absolute worst ER I’ve ever been to. If it hadn’t been for my nurse Landon being attentive I probably would have died. Im seriously debating filling a complaint with the health board based on the negligence I received here. And I never was treated for what I came in for. Absolutely disgusted right now.Doug Burks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mom fell and hit her head and dislocated her shoulder last night. The staff was amazing! I wish I could give 50 stars and each person could get 5. The knowledge, compassion and humor was perfect. Thank you!Alicia BorchardtThey were going to admit me for what they thought was internal bleeding. Then they came in my room and discharged me and had security escort me out. Mind you I did nothing wrong. I was waiting for a room and then I get treated like some horrible human. Never will I ever recommend this er.Jasmine B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI took my husband here two nights ago. We had no idea what was wrong, severe pain and muscle spasms along with vomiting every 20 minutes or so. The staff here was amazing. Everyone was kind and helpful. Dr. Larochelle calmed him down very quickly and was very professional. I wish I could remember everyone else’s names! The nursing staff was amazing and efficient. I appreciate everyone there so much, from the front desk to the time we left it was quality care.William Pellegrino⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy wife became very I’ll at home with pnuemonia. I drove her to the ER. They took her into triage and immediately put her in an room in the ER. Treatment was excellent and she was then admitted. The nurses and doctors have all been great. I specifically took her to this ER as we have had to use them in the past and the care was excellent. I would guess that some of the negative comments are from drug seekers that ER to ER wanting pain killers or from people that should have went to an urgent care or their personal physicians office instead of tieing up beds in ER that are for true emergencies. The entire staff has been excellent.Shelby ShafferI have been in the ER multiple times with chronic constipation blockage. All the other hospitals I’ve been to have been very attentive and nice. With an insurance change this is now the only ER I’m allowed to go to. I was there maybe an hour and they had me drink something and then handed me an enema and told me to do it myself. I did, and then sat in the bathroom awhile and nothing happened. I came back out and expressed my concern to the nurse that the enema wasn’t working and she said that it never works anyways and that it was time for me to go. She said I would go to the bathroom at home, and I asked what if I didn’t? She basically told me, tough luck, and sent me on my way. I still haven’t been able to go, and I never want to go back to this place again.Brie GrovesWe had to go in for an ER visit to UCHealth (hemorrhaging while pregnant). Waited for 6 1/2 hours (20 minutes in an actual room), all for the doctor to stick his head in the door and tell us to we “were good to go”. We got billed $7,200 dollars for this. We didn’t even get a doctors consult, medication or report of what was wrong. Then, because they were wrong, I ended up back in the ER a week later — this time we went to a different ER where a radiologist and OBGYN looked at me, the doctor sat with us — explaining everything and we were in and out in 2 hours. The bill was $2,000 with much better treatment. I called UC for an itemized bill, then tried to fight the level of billing and inadequate coding. They rejected all of our appeals to the bill. The patient reps and billing department were rude and threatening. I don’t know where else to turn— but this is a story I’ve heard too many times with UCHealth.Juliana F⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFast and reliable ERAshley Fernandez⭐️⭐️If my review was based on the doctor we saw alone it would be a one star, the nurses were great and attentive! My husband came in because he believed to have a kidney stone and the doctor he got said “you play the part very well” implying he was there for drugs. I am appalled to say the least!!! How dare you judge my husband, he was in severe pain, and you treated him like a drug addict and he even gave blood and urine samples where you found ZERO trace of drugs! He ended up passing the stone so maybe we should come in and physically show you?! Disgusting behavior from a DOCTOR!George ArgosSent to Memorial North ER by Urgent care for red/purple swollen arm from shoulder to wrist after sporting accident which was apparently ripped biceps and rotator cuff tendons. Was let into a room where Dr showed up, took one look at me, and said “You shouldn’t be here, there is nothing we can do for you, you need to see an Orthopedic surgeon”, which is fine. This took 2 minutes. Am shocked to see they are now billing me over $700 for this?? Have spoken with them, telling them absolutely no medical service was given with no response. Check your bills closely, this place is a racket.Amanda Junge⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAMAZING! Went in for a tooth abscess, out 20 minutes later! The staff was incredible!!!! Really clean too.danielle bosuegoCame to the er today with my husband. We Were here2 months ago he had pneumonia with sepsis. Come in today and tell them he has had this infection for too long … Like 2 weeks too long and the sit us in the waiting room and are busy handing out bandaids. Told them my husband needs something for the pain and antibiotic to boot and this POS told me in a snide bitchy tone we cant give pain medication in the waiting room… For real we should have been takin back immediately… Not put on hold… Some people are gonna be out a job if they dont get the picture quickBrett DupreyI personally would risk death to avoid this emergency room.Alan Bellanger⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEnded up needing an MRI after hours here and the staff was so nice and friendly. Worth the drive.Jason Gillies D.C.My wife came to this ER with severe back pain with pain into her right leg and the inability to walk. Because her condition was not life threatening they basically tell you to wait. About an hour later she goes into a triage room where a nurse takes a set of vitals and basic case history. My wife is again told to wait. A while later a PA comes in and does a quick exam and gives my wife a diagnosis of back pain with sciatica. My wife is then told again to wait while the ER rounds up a single pill to give her. An hour later my wife gets a pill which is a muscle relaxer and is given a prescription for a steroid and a pain patch. First off this is severe pain we are talking about and my wife gets a prescription for a topical pain patch. Second there was no imaging to even evaluate my wifes condition and to formulate a diagnosis. Since the condition was not life threatening they simply make you wait longer just to tell you to follow up with your primary care doctor. In the end my wife ended up having a severe L5-S1 disc herniation which required a STAT MRI and surgery ASAP. This ER said it was a simple case of Sciatica and released her with no imaging. If you aren’t pooping or peeing yourself don’t expect this ER to do anything for your potential herniated disc. On top of that now I get a bill. This ER charged over $5000 for my wife to literally sit in a waiting room. Less than 20 minutes of one on one care and a single pill costs you over $5000 at this ER. On top of that you still get a bill from the Doctor you saw. Think about this. My wife sat in the ER waiting room, was given a set of vitals, and a single pill and it costs over $5000.00 and you still have to pay the doctor. What did this ER (a facility) do for my wife that justifies a cost of $5000.00? The doctor did the work and you pay them a separate charge. UC Health has purchased all of these free standing ERs and group practices and now we pay $5000 to sit in a waiting room to pay for it all. Never again will I use anything related to UC Health. No UC Health facilities, no UC Health doctors, no UC Health radiology departments, nothing. I will use private imaging centers, Penrose, and Penrose doctors. I am so glad my wife did not have her surgery at UC Health. They probably would have charge me to visit her. Just like they charged my new born baby $7000 for his delivery. But that is another UC Health story of rape for another time.Kate PointerHad a horrible experience that started on Thanksgiving. Took two of my children in for strep. They separated my husband and I with the children, (each parent with a child in a seperate room), they swab my older child and test came back negative, they didn’t swab my 2 year old, as he is 2 and they decided it is very difficult. They said they will just treat our kids the same, whatever the outcome. Guess what? The 3 day lab results came back and my older cgild does have strep. This was a 3 day waiting period by the way, in this 3 days both children are not getting better. Yesterday, Sunday, we get that call, with the positive test result and they fill a prescription for only the older child. I have called and called, talking to several people who will not treat my son, who was supposed to get the same persciption, as he was being treated for the same illness at the ER. So, its now Monday, and I call again, and now they want to have him scheduled for an appointment, and guess what, now they want to swab him. But he can’t see his regular pediatrician as they have no appointments available until mid week. I am beyond frustrated with this health system. If you have no intentions of following thru with same treatment on a younger sibling, please don’t act like everything will be easy and smooth. Do the tests on all the children so we dont have to wait, almost another week, before getting meds to help fight this. Thanks for nothing, when it comes to my younger child. And teach the young man that answers the ER phone, to have better listen skills and if he is incapable of answering questions, please teach him to find someone who is capable of looking into our situation, and answering our questions.
