Before you go to UCHealth – Littleton, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Littleton emergency room think.
George SmithI would never reccomend you go here for any reason. I could not be more disappointed. Our first time in not a single person actually examined my girlfriend for our reported problem. They came in and talked to her and made a decision based on that alone which we were both very uncomfortable with based on the problem reported. We called our primary care doctor who said that they should have there license revoked for malpractices. She also had to write a prescription for us since UC Health reccomend an over the counter option that would not work based on other medical conditions, that we made sure to make them aware of since they didn’t ask.Fe MarieThe worst experience I have encountered at what appears to me an emergency room. The receptionist at the front was so warm and sweet but as soon as they get you in the back, you are treated like cattle. When they asked what was going on, I tried to explain the back story/patterns and what I suspected was causing my daughters chest pain. Theresa interrupted to tell me that she didnt need any back information/patterns because they were just there to make sure she wasn’t in life threatening danger. She advised I save that for a PCP. I explained we were new in the area and didn’t have one. I’m not sure if the attitude came because we are people of color or if her personal opinions on us not having found a local PCP, but she immediately began lecturing how “that should have been done already” and drilling me on why I dont have any friends in the area I can ask. My question is why am I unable to get pediatric recommendations from an emergency facility? While we were there, my daughters symptoms subsided so the doctor – after seeing her for less than 10 mins- left to get discharge information. After a few minutes, the pain returned to my daughter and when I reported it to the nurse, she replied “oh” and walked out. She came back 8 minutes later with some medicine that she said would assist with the discomfort. She administered it and left. When she came back, she handed us discharge papers & and asked my daughter how she felt. My daughter told her still in pain. She encouraged we see a PCP and bid us farewell. She handed us the papers and bid us farewell while my daughter was still in pain. Instead of going the extra mile to find a local pediatrician, she chose tp go back and forth with me about how “you should have friends that can refer you somewhere” and when I explained that we were new and didnt, she handed me a list of other UCHealth locations that would be able to do the same “nothing” that was done here. I will be contacting corporate and the BBB tomorrow because it sounds like from previous reviews, they are essentially taking advantage of people. I highly encourage some diversity and sensitivity training. I have been in customer service for over 13 years, and have been to ERs before, but the lack of sensitivity or even compassion was disgusting. I have gotten better care at a CVS Minute Clinic.Janae VoneshDo not go here, I had a horrible experience. The receptionist and nurse were very kind and helpful, however the doctor and RN were completely unprofessional and rude. Do not go here especially of you have POTS, EDS etc. My mom and I were treated very rudely, they interrupted us, did not listen to us and spoke down to us. Please don’t go here, no one deserves this kind of rude behavior especially when you are in pain.Pom PonyBuyer Beware!!! They will lie to you and say your insurance is IN Network, but in fact they will NOT KNOW if it’s In Network until they submit the bill. Don’t for a minute think this ER is part of the UCHealth Hospital network. They have told us they aren’t. They have a different tax Id number so they are not part of the network. We went here and asked at check in if they were In Network. The nice lady said Yes! Months later we get stuck with the Out of network bill. This sort of practice should be illegal. The girl at the front desk that lied to us should have to pay my bill. This is out right Fraud!! Stay away from this facility!!! Please don’t respond with contact billing. They will do nothing except tell us we are responsible for this billTawnya JarvisI never leave bad reviews, so let me be clear that this review is for a doctor specifically. The receptionist was kind, the nurses as well. I have never seen a more condescending, rude, unkind doctor in my history of emergency room visits. This visit was not for me, it was for my wife. She never goes in because she hates going to the doctor, and she also hates admitting she’s in pain. She was treated like a pill seeker and her pain was dismissed as soon as he walked in the door. We both were talked over, interrupted, and spoken down to. We were called liars. And despite her medical records showing no indication of pain pill abuse, he obviously made up his mind in the two seconds between the nurse telling him what she was there for and him entering the room. His attitude towards her, and myself for trying to defend her, was not only unprofessional but unwarranted and completely blew me away. I myself deal with chronic pain and have NEVER been spoken to as disrespectfully or as condescendingly as my wife was spoken to tonight by Dr. Gerard. If you go here and the nurse tells you he is going to be your doctor, REQUEST TO SEE ANOTHER PROVIDER. Trust me when I say this man doesn’t care about the patients coming into this emergency room. Period.Alan MeyersAbsolutely the rudest people I have ever met, they look at you like you’re an inconvenience, the doctor ( if you could call her that ) was very unprofessional and needs to find a job where compassion is not needed , It was the worst experience and will never return ( unless they replace the staff)Lawn DocsLazy doctors! They want primary doctors to diagnose my daughters injury. Gave crutches and sent away. Definetly a pointless visit go up the street to Swedish.J SILVAAbsolute worst place to go in an emergency. They told me they could help my grandfather who can’t pee and is in great pain, then they want to send him to the urologist at Denver university. They proceed to call an ambulance that takes over an hour to arrive. AVOID THIS PLACE FOR REAL EMERGENCIESWho da! What tha!Avoid this place at all cost I came here thinking I was going to an urgent care and not until after the 15 minute visit in which they took my temperature and wrote me a prescription I found out it was an emergency room now they want 2000.00 dollars.how can that even be possible.how do they justify 2000.00 dollars for 15 minutes of work.these places must be ran by the mob complete and total scam!!!!!!!Kris LebedaThe doctors here are simply incompetent. I went in unable to swallow with signs of strep. They looked in my throat, gave me a script and told me to get throat spray for the pain. I was in tears from the pain and having to spit into a plastic bag because it was so painful to swallow…and you tell me to get throat spray?? I’m a very educated individual in the medical field and would not have let a patient walk on of an ER in that much pain. I went home and ended up going to another urgent care where they gave me the proper triage.brandyn bennett⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedRarely will I ever go out of my way to review a service, but after the experience I had with these lovely people, I must. I simply can not say enough about the the way I was treated while receiving care at this facility, a warming welcome, experienced staff, and consistent engagement. This staff takes pride in what they do, and are clearly concerned for YOUR well being, regardless of any imposed inconveniences on themselves. Thank you to the staff, I am so grateful to now have a location in which I will never hesitate to take any of my loved ones during an emergency.Anne TaylorOVER CHARGE!!! DO NOT GO THERE!Devin NewellThis place is a bunch of Thieves. My son went in for a nasty cut on his lip, the “Dr.s” didn’t even touch him… 3 months later we get a bill for $600. I ask why, it was the room fee I was told… so we pay it … and today I get a call from a collection agency wanting me to pay them, I tell her we paid them she says I need to send her proof . I mean the era has the money call them stop wasting my time . NEVER GO TO UC HEALTH….chase tannerExtremely rude staff and especially rude doctor Kass. Barks orders Interrupts Does not listen No common courtesy Arrogant Condescending His main focus is on berating senior citizens….and pushing doctor visits when you’re healthy! Obviously exemplifies a poor upbringing and lack of proper parenting. 2 old assistants could not even get BP reading after 4 times Truly unpleasant people ill suited to their work and an extremely Unpleasant Experience for me. Better suited to work at a prison Avoid this ER and staff if you value your health and well being.brendalynn gibsonDeceiving looks like an urgent care but bills as an ER. Staff stitched up my head and sent me home. Next day my eyes are swollen shut and I’m vomiting. Diagnosed with severe concussion that required on-going treatment.Ashley Browning⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad to take my baby girl in and the staff was just amazing! All of the nurses were so sweet and really made the super stressful visit so much better.. the doctor was very calm and on top of everything. He was a great doctor and I was very grateful to have him taking care of my girl! Everyone that was on staff that day will never know how truly grateful we are for caring as much as they did – from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you guys!Christopher Cook⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNot having any type of medical insurance and being new in the area I was uncertain where to go for urgent care. I called UCHealth and they told me that there is a base cost and they would give me options after screening so I took a chance and went there. When I got there I explained, again, that I don’t have insurance. I was there for 3-4 hours. During that time they had to run several tests, which they sent out to the nearby hospital. The doctor and nurses were very competent and attentive. The facilities appeared to be comparable with a modern hospital. All this made me nervous about what the bill was going to come to. When I left they told me that the doctor saw me free of charge and there was no cost to me at all. I was shocked and extremely happy. A day later I even received a followup phone call to check on my condition. I can’t speak about the cost since I don’t know what it might have been but the service I received was exemplary.Kandacebgreene Greene⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI brought my son into this location on 4/27/15 at about 8:30pm, I was greeting by the intake nurse who was extremely sweet and welcoming. We were seen in less than 5 minutes. The nurse and doctor were more than warm and welcoming with myself and son and took care of us very quickly! We were in and out in about 30 minutes. The facility was extremely clean and the staff couldn’t have been nicer! I would without a doubt recommend this location!!Elijah RopersTook my wife here and experienced the worst bed side manner by the on duty RN I have witnessed by a nurse in my life. She was very rude from the start and not understanding of my wifes pain and did not want to listen to her when she was trying to express what was wrong – NO EMPATHY! My wife has cystic fibrosis and we’re no stranger to nurses and this one was the absolute worst.Erin McEversIf I could give a lesser rating I would. As someone else pointed out this is not an urgent care but an emergency room with ER prices. My daughter saw a physician for 5 minutes and this was followed by an xray. She did not break her ankle but only bruised. We do have insurance and the balance due to UC Health and the physician was over $2000 for a 30 minute visit. Customer service was no help when discussing the ridiculous amount for care. I would not recommend this location!Eric TaylorI was in here in December for a single puncture on my hand. I was there for less then an hour, and received a $1,600 bill. The only actions performed were taking blood pressure, flushing the single puncture wound with antiseptic, given 10 days of antibiotics, and I was given three bandaids. This place is criminally overcharging patients for services performed. I will be bringing this to the attention of the necessary institutions to stop this blatant disregard for ethical practice of business. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!Jenelle Bezdek⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSuper sick and needing quick attention I brought myself into the Urgent Care. It was 8am and I was happy to see that I was the only one there. They promptly checked me in and waited on me. They were very thorough, I was out within the hour and they called me the next day to check up on me. . I would definitely go there again.Dana Fox⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am in a very busy time of year and thought I might be getting a sinus infection or something so I visited the UCHealth Emergency Room as opposed to waiting for business hours and trying to get in to see my doctor, and miss some of my own appointments. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The doctor was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. It turns out my problem wasn’t bad as I thought it might be, but she gave me several helpful ideas. It was fast, friendly service, and I’ll be sure to return if future problems occur.DanaDo not go here!! It’s an absolute scam. Unless you want to pay thousands of dollars for tests you don’t need. I went in for antibiotics as I was pretty sure I had strep throat. The doctor told me that because I was having so much trouble swallowing and my throat culture was negative, I could have this rare condition. I explained that my children were sick too with the same sore throats and that it would be unlikely we all had the same condition. He said it could be fatal and that i needed to have a CAT scan to check. I didn’t feel at all comfortable but, finally I gave in. When they put in an I.V. to give contrast for the cat scan, I noticed she took some blood and asked if they were running other test. The nurse said they just had to check kidney function before they could put in contrast as it’s hard on the kidneys. She lied! They did lots of blood tests! So, I had a CAT scan, blood tests and a throat culture. To be told I was told I was fine. That’s it. I went in for a sore throat, left with nothing but thousands in unnecessary charges. Took my kids to the doctor the next day for their sore throats, it was strep. Please don’t go here. It’s a scam.Dannique DuranStaff is usually very rude. Doctors included. Only had luck with one nurse and one doctor. Ever. Everything from treating me like I’m a complete idiot, to rushing us out quicker than we were rushed in (we were the only ones there, space was of no concern). Had a nurse force apple juice down my childs’s throat (was not dehydrated at all). Even saw a doctor treating the nurses quite poorly. I’m very disgusted with this place. Trash. Complete trash. Nicest employee there is the front desk gal, and some southern bell RN.melissa sardoni⭐️⭐️⭐️5 STARS!!! Brought my daughter in for stitches at 9:30 pm and was done by 10:15 pm. 2 subcutaneous and 3 topical. Clean, friendly and fast! I was so grateful! 1 STAR!!! $947.00 for the Dr. $2,663.00 for the facility Breaks down to: $722 per stitch OR $80.22 per minute. 2 1/2 stars average – I’ll round to 3. Would like to use them again, but way too expensive for a single mom.Leah Brandon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI took my sister here at midnight and we had first class service. The doctor took his time with her and was very thorough. She received a follow up call from the doctor himself and she was shocked. She has been in several ER’s throughout her life and she has never received a follow up call like this. Also, she received a card in the mail personally signed by the staff. She felt wonderful for this type of care! I was very happy!Callie washer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe had the best experience at this ER. It was late on a Saturday with no other doctors office’s open. I didn’t want to go to an over crowded ER and wait for hours. They had us back in a room before we could even finish the paper work! The ER was super clean, and the staff was so friendly. We were in and out in under 30 minutes and got amazing care. This will be our ER of choice from now on.Sandi Bell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBeing from California, I didn’t know where to take my son when he needed to be looked at. Thankfully my cousin said to go visit the new place up the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful and understood my situation. Once inside my son was cared for promptly and the place was immaculate! Again the staff made the visit because they were helpful and courteous. Thank you!!Lisa RopersWorst ER experience of my life!!!!! They gave me a huge dose of ativan, without my permission, and overdosed me because I was upset that they wouldn’t listen to me and kept interrupting me. Both my mother and my husband thought that I stayed calm under the circumstance and the drug was unnecessary. If you want to be treated with compassion and respect, DO NOT go here!!!!! I have cystic Fibrosis and have spent time in many hospitals and ERs over the years and have NEVER been treated so horribly. I had just moved to this area not even a week before and normally go to National Jewish and Saint Joseph but because of my pain, my husband chose the closest ER to our new home. I live with chronic pancreatitis, have broken my nose, had multiple surgeries, and I can honestly say I was experiencing the worst pain of my life. I don’t drink or do drugs and am opposed to all pain meds but that day, I was miserable and after days of trying over the counter pain meds, like ibuprofen and Tylenol, I wanted to die. They made me feel like a drug seeker. BIG MISTAKE on our part and from now on, I’ll just call an ambulance and have them take me to a hospital that treats people with dignity and respect!! WORST nurse EVER!! And the doctor was on the bottom of the list too….cold and cruel!! Just a horrible experience that nobody should have!! Stay FAR away from this place!Kaley Blair⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went into the ER for chest pains. I was greeted right away and before even sitting down in the waiting room I was brought to an exam room. I was checked in and a talking to the doctor within 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly. I was impressed with the facility and was made very comfortable. Tests were done quickly and the results were also speedy. Overall my experience was very good and I would recommend this place to anyone in need of urgent care. Hopefully I don’t need to go back, but will definitely keep this place at the top of my list.Jennifer Lokatys⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWhat a great facility! The staff was wonderful, the facility was extremely clean and the location is perfect for those of us living in the foothills. While I hope we don’t have to visit again anytime soon, if we do this will definitely be my ER of choice!Jayne Mohr⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was here from out of town and dealing with a tremendous sinus infection. It was the most efficient and effective treatment I’ve ever received from urgent care/ER. The doc called the next day to check on me as well! Great service providers from the time you enter upon leaving and arrive home.Nathan StrauchThe reason why your insurance premiums are increasing. I received almost “ZERO” care and my insurance company was billed $1357, this amounts to over $3142 per hour. Was told that they “did nothing wrong” and “Have a nice day, Sir” when I finally was able to reach someone about the enormous cost. Was there for 10 minutes and insurance company was billed $1357.00 even though I was told they couldn’t help me. I went in because I lost my voice. Nurse checked my blood pressure and temp. Doctor came in and said that I needed to see a holistic doctor or go to a specialist. She prescribed a nasal spray that didn’t work, but did so because she thought it may help while I waited to see a specialist. From the time I walked in the front door to the time I left was 10 minutes as they were very slow when I was there. I called their billing department several times and never rec’d a call back. Today I called and spoke with a young lady who said they did nothing wrong and told me “To have a nice day.” Soooo, if you wish to encourage higher premiums in the future, this is a great option for you. But as for me and my family, we WILL NOT contribute to the problem of rising Insurance premiums and will NOT be using First Choice/UCHealth Emergency Room ever again. We will be using Urgent Care going forward.Ivory Soon Fah⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy 2 year old daughter was experiencing excruciating abdominal pains and could not sleep. We went to the ER around 1:30 am on 01/28/16. They did not accept our insurance, but did inform me that they would do a courtesy exam. Before I could fill out the paperwork, they brought us to the back to examine my daughter. They were so quick to help my daughter and it meant a lot to me! They kept her there for a couple hours and gave her some medicine to help her. They tried to make her as comfortable as possible and provided as much care/ medical attention as possible. Dr. Baughn, Kristin, Sandra, and Chris were very professional and providing the utmost care to my daughter. I would highly recommend this facility and their staff are incredible! Thank you for caring for my daughter and following up with me after a couple of days to check on her.Tracy FisherRip off, My husband was there for 1 hour and they sent him to Swedish Medical for appendectomy. Total bill was over $20,000.00. The charges were outrageous. over $6,000. for a CT scan. He had the same CT Scan at Swedish medical ER and it was only $2,000. The facility charge for him to sit in the bed for 1 hours was $6,337.00. Then we get another bill for almost $5,000 from the physician group that the doctor belonged to. Must be nice to make $5,000 an hour. I call the billing department, spoke to a lady name “Tracy” and communicated these charges are outrageous. She said that if I faxed her the statement of benefits from our insurance company, she would apply a discount to the remaining balance. She said that more than likely the discount had not been applied, but she couldn’t calculate the discount until she had a copy of the statement of benefits. I faxed the statement of benefits and waited to hear back. The next thing I received from the billing department was that our account had been turned over for collections. I agree the people there are very nice, but they are LOCALS. This company is owned by some money grubbing company in Texas that is out to make as much money as possible in a ridiculous for profit medical industry. Save your money and go the Swedish ER at Bowles and Wadsworth. Jan 4, 2016 To complete this horrid experience here’s what happened. I emailed the social care team – they put me in touch with the same billing department that screwed us to begin with. The outcome – As soon as we were contacted by the collection agency, we paid the bill in full on a credit card. Merry Christmas to us. When the social care team put us in touch with the same billing department, to my surprise there actually is a “Tracy” there, but she did not put any notes in our file that she was working with us. They had no record of the fax…(Even though I have the fax confirmation that it went thru). They said they “Share” a fax machine with another department and it’s likely someone must have taken it and thrown it away. They told us that because we had paid the collection agency there was nothing they could do and said she was sorry. So basically we were screwed out of $2.7k on a credit card. Again, Go to a real emergency room, Swedish Medical at Bowles and Wadsworth, they are great, my husband had to go back due to some complications, the charges were much less and Blue Cross Blue Shield paid 100%.Rhonda Webster⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband was very sick and not feeling well at all. First Choice ER just opened up in the neighborhood and we though we would try it. Had a very nice experience. Staff and Doctor was very nice. LOVED this place! I work for a doctors office and have to deal with a lot of ERs and Urgent Cares, this was by far the best!Harrison LeeRudest & most incompetant Dr I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my life. Amazing he is still employed anywhere.Isabella Mestas⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedUnderstand this is an emergency room. So everything as far as price is concerned will be excessive. On a professional level, they were great. The took me in and quickly diagnosed the issues. They were fantastic. Thanks to Dr. David Cionni, Stephanie (RN), Laura and Julie. They were fantastic doing what they do best. Once I was cleared they were all kind, curteous, and still professional. Very nice team.Denise Loveira⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Considering the circumstance, I found my visit to be a pleasant one, starting with my wait time, which was exactly 30 seconds. Everyone was very kind and the facility was extremely clean. I had an unusual insurance issue that was not a problem. All and all a good experience.Laura Hansen⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent to this ER for a corneal abrasion. Staff was efficient and friendly. ER was clean and pleasant. Much better than big hospital ER. Will certainly use this again.Genevieve Sharp⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI highly recommend this facility for ER needs! The medical staff crew was a great one, from kindness, patience, explaining what is needed to be done. Again a GREAT TEAM!!Beth Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️The staff at this facility was wonderful. They were very kind and patient when I went in for my injured ankle last week. The building itself is spotless. The doctor instructed me to follow up with an orthopedist within 3-5 days. It was a good thing I did, because it turned out I had fractured a bone in my foot. I was told at the ER that it was only a bad sprain. The walking boot they gave me at the ER was switched out for a cast at the orthopedist. Again, the staff was very nice, but being diagnosed correctly would have been great too.Ashley Pietro⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI brought my husband in today, the staff was amazing. They were quick and they wanted answer’s just as much as we did. This will be our go to emergency roomDoug Hale⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe visited the emergency room because of a dog bite. Our regular practice was closed for the day. We were delighted to find very efficient, professional and friendly care. There was a glitch with our insurance company and they worked out the problem to our satisfaction. I highly recommend.Mike VanSleenBEWARE ALL SICK AND INJURED! This place WILL overcharge you! As if others haven’t complained enough, I’m yet another victim to this deplorable scam of charging outrageous fees for minor repairs. I came into the Littleton UCHealth Emergency Room on November 14th, 2017 to have a small finger laceration stitched up. I had already controlled the bleeding before arrival. I waited in the waiting room to be admitted, obviously not an emergency. A nurse then checked my vitals, asked if I had a recent tetanus shot (I had) and took a quick look at my finger. The doctor then came in around 20 minutes later and repaired my finger after 2 X-rays were taken. Here’s what was done to me that night: 1. Antiseptic swab to left index finger 2. Numbing solution injected into left and right side of index finger. 3. Four stitches total were placed, 2 in fingernail, 2 in flesh. 4. Bulky foam dressing applied to finger. 5. Metal-foam finger splint applied to finger. 6. Prescription written for painkiller and antibiotic. Grand total on my UCHealth bill, received about 2 weeks later: $4,956.12!!!!! After adjustments I’m still told I owe them $2,723.67 for 4 stitches, some gauze and a splint! This bill came after a separate bill from National Medical Professionals in the amount of $520.85! The two bills together add up to a staggering $3,244.52 I feel beyond violated. I am in the process of getting an itemized bill sent to me to review their charges and dispute them. If need be, I will be filing complaints with the BBB, ACLU and US Dept of Health and Human Services in addition to contacting UCHealth and Adeptus to resolve this matter. I will post updates as they happen and let everybody know what my outcome is.Kyle Hawes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went in with a pretty substantial dog bite. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and got me fixed up and out in a timely manor. I would highly
