Tara Walsh⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was seen immediately after arriving and checking in at the front desk! Everyone was very nice, prompt with every level of care, explained procedures as well as steps of action and thorough with my discharge instructions as well!! Definitely the best ER I’ve ever been to!! Thank You UCHealth!! Additionally, I received an unexpected follow up call the day after I was discharged from a doctor at the ER, checking in on me as well!! Highly recommend this ER office!!!Katelyn McKeown⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came to this place after an accident, and they were amazing. They were on-top of everything and got me right in with no issues. They were awesome. No one was mean and it was the best experience that I’ve had going in. They were also on top of keeping me warm by grabbing me new warm blankets. I will definitely be coming back here for any emergency that I have next.ACPIP ACPIPOMG! I just got a bill for nearly $8000 for bringing in my daughter who had a fever 102! They didn’t even do anything! They did a strep test that was negative and they sent us home! I asked if I had to use my insurance and the lady at the front said, “yes if you have insurance we have to use it.” I asked if I could just pay out of pocket and she told me no! I have read the other reviews of people getting these huge bills, and then I also read several where they paid cash and only had to pay $200! My insurance didn’t pay a thing so they charged all of their outrageous fees to me! If I had just kept my mouth shut and paid cash I wouldn’t be out almost $8000. Who the F does that to people? Seriously unethical and has to be illegal.Charles FeltMy wife keeps telling, read reviews before you go somewhere. I seriously wish I had taken her advice before going to this facility. After reading every single review about this ER I would have never gone to this facility. Long story short I am also one of the people that was taken advantage of by UC Health and it’s Free Standing Emergency Room Department. I have been battling a $4000 bill for over one year to no avail. This bill is illegal, unethical, and predatory. I went in to this facility for severe stomach pains, peed in a cup, and was told to go home. I paid at the door nearly $200 and then received a bill for nearly $7000 a month later. Flabbergasted I contacted my insurance company and UC Health. My insurance company got them to discount the bill to $4000 which was nice, but still incredibly undo-able for me, and I’m sure many of you readying this. I battled with UC Health for nearly a year, during this process I have found out many State Laws and Regulations I believe can help others fight their illegal and predatory billing practices. UC Health is now suing me in civil court for the full amount. I have offered to pay them a reduced sum but they refuse. They want the amount in full. The amount you ask? Primarily a ER Room Fee, or what is commonly referred to as a facility fee. These fee’s are coded using what are called CPT codes. These codes describe procedures or treatments performed by doctors on patients. These codes also have maximum allowable charges set by State and Federal Law. For instance, the bulk of that $7000 is the ER Room Fee of $5,925.32. This fee is simply for me sitting in a room for 5 minutes. Just sitting there, no services being performed, no treatments being administer, just me sitting in the room incurred a fee of $5,925.32. Now let’s have a look at the state law. There are several that apply here. 1)Colorado state law mandates that all fees at these free standing ER’s being giving to you in writing before any services are performed, this fee was certainly not given to me at any time. Nor were any other fees. In fact I filled out a tiny card with my name, date of birth, and insurance info, then they got a copy of my license and told me to have a seat. That is ALL the paper work they give you. So there’s law number one, broken. 2)If you ask them what their fee’s are, THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU. Gee, I wonder why. This is also against the law. They claim their fee schedule is on their website. Well kinda, if you go to the UC Health Thornton ER website and then click on nearly a dozen links and download something that says UC Health Thornton ER Post Disclosure, then it shows you there outrageous and insane fee schedule where they can charge $6000 for literally doing nothing. Sound crazy? It get’s better. So they state sets maximums for these fees which they far exceed, which is also illegal. But the most illegal part? 3)If I had went in without insurance, which I had asked that my insurance not be billed, which is why I paid them what I thought was the cash rate, then the $200 I paid…. That would have been the end of it. So what this is called is a dual fee schedule. A dual fee schedule is where you have a separate rate for cash patients and a much higher rate for insurance companies. Now a lot of providers do this and most are in the grey area. Federal Law states that what ever you charge an insurance company you can discount at a maximum of 15% to a cash patient. So that is Federal Law. So after some research I found out they typically charge between $200 and $450 for a cash patient without insurance for the exact same services I was billed $7000 for. That is a 95% discount and well past the Federally regulated limit. So, I’m going to court. And I will win. These predatory billing practices need to be stopped. Anyone who reads this please take this information and fight, fight until you win. Do not give in to their pressure. Anyone who this has happened to call an attorney, fight this and you will win. Good luck my fellow humans. I hope someone reads this that needs it.Diego Martinez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame for a late night emergency with my adopted family, they took great care of my mother and had a machine to help translate medical terms in Cantanese I was very impressed. I feel much better knowing they are here if emergencies ariseMr BodnarDO NOT GO HERE! I wish I had read the reviews before deciding to go to this “ER.” I went in for a severe sinus infection which had gone on for 2 weeks, I’m new to the area and didn’t have a primary care doctor yet so I had to go somewhere and from the outside it’s looks profession. Once inside rude staff and incompetent PA’s staff the facility. I was given a 2 minute exam and prescribed a steroid and a nasal spray, the PA didn’t think it was bacterial although the dark green nasal discharge and fever I thought was a dead give away. Any-hoo, couple weeks later I got a bill for $6000 dollars in the mail! The man literally looked in my nose, asked me if I have a history of allergies, wrote a script and DONE. Total time in the room with me less than 10 minutes and now I have a huge bill! This is outrageous and has to be illegal. You guys are seriously crooks.Krista Carlile⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent here twice and was blown away by the fast service and willingness to help the patient! All my questions were answered and they even took the time to educate me about different things I could do to help myself.Dr. Cameron HallDO NOT EVEN WALK IN THE DOOR. My wife had to go in for stomach pains because I was out of town. Not knowing about their predatory billing practices and their pseudo illusion of being more of an urgent care. For a very quick consult and abdominal exam they billed out over $5000 for just walking in the door and not doing a single thing. No treatment, no prescription, no advice other than to follow up with her PCP the next day. Literally did nothing. She just walked in the place. Avoid at all costs.Jennifer Rivera⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey are always super fast when I have to come in. I will always recommend them.Greg CameraDo not go here without 1st having full disclosure on cost. We took my daughter here for a small dog bite. They literally squirted saline in the cut, put two steri-strips over it. They wrote her a prescription for antibiotic and sent us on our way. Total cost??? $2800!Jenny Reeves⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent in last night for our 3yr old. Every person in there was happy and helpful. It was also our daughters birthday and everyone was telling her happy birthday and being wonderful . The doctor was very knowledgeable and I loved that he has kids of his own and kept referring to them. The nurse was definitely a kid person and was being so awesome with our daughter. Will definitely come to this ER again if we need to. Thanks so much everyone was wonderful and made our late night better!Alishia MorrisWas just in here and all I can say is wow. A ghost town. I’ve been feeling sick for almost 3 days now. They checked my temperature they said it was about 98 something. I told them that’s strange because it’s been low grade up to 102. I’ve been having chest pain and been hacking a lung every 10 minutes. Ear pain and muscle aches. Dr Jackman came in and I repeated my symptoms. Left and I had to personally ask for my ears to be checked because he suddenly forgot they hurt. Had a chest X-ray done and the nurse came back 10 minutes later with a steroid she syringed in the back of my throat and I almost vomited and started wheezing. She said “deep breaths” and shut the door. Came back in a minute later with discharge paperwork. Are you serious a doctor can’t come in from his google researching skills and provide you with results? Got diagnosed with an upper respotary infection. Well obviously I haven’t been coughing, sneezing for no reason. I came in for the fact my fever was persistent and I’ve been getting worse with mucus and shakes. Instead of an answer I got Tylenol. Asked her if they did flu tests she told me they haven’t seen cases so they don’t do them. Great effort. Was leaving and had to ask the receptionist to open the door while she didn’t notice me walk by her because she was on her phone. Had a 30 minute visit and I wish I stayed in bed suffering than coming here. Went home rechecked my temperature with 3 different thermometers and amazing they all say 101.8-102.1 and yes ma’am I know how to check a temperature I do it all day long. Will definitely be disputing it with my insurance. What a shame and a complete rip off. You’re better off going to Dairy Queen and getting an ice cream to make yourself feel better than going here for answers.Kristine Murray⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAs most of you know it is hard to find doctors with both a good bedside manner and you trust. The doctor I encountered there was incredible, Dr. Peacock. It should not be a surprise to meet a doctor, especially a ER doctor, that has both these characteristics and more. but it is a hard thing to find.I could tell he was actually listening to what I was saying, taking it in and thinking about how best he could help me.The nurse was also extremely nice, calming, and thorough. Overall, you can sense and feel that the people helping you there love their job. I would certainly recommend this ER to a friend, as I would feel they were getting premium service and care.Ada B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe were so impressed with this place! I was treated at a different ER the week before but worsened after hours on the weekend (of course). I found this ER and registered online to hold a room. They called me right away to confirm and when I got there, they were waiting. From the receptionist, the nurse, radiology tech, physician, to check-out, everyone was warm, efficient, and professional. I received excellent, prompt care including a thorough exam and appropriate labs and imaging. I left with a clear plan. I felt respected and heard. They called me the next day to see how I was doing. It is a fully equipped ER but with a personal touch and right by my home. I highly recommend it.Deb Dilworth⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI visited the ER on Monday PM. I had a hard time walking in and as soon as I entered the staff took me into a room. They were right on top of things and I was feeling better in an hour. they were very nice and polite, I felt very comfortable. The Clinic impressed me as the service was good and the clinic is spotless clean.Andrea Gorman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had to take my husband in to the ER the other morning. He was in some excruciating pain! They got him back very quickly and took care of all of use. They where thoughtful and brought my little one coloring book. This made the whole experience less stressful. I would recommend them to everyone. We really appreciate the great care.Darla Roubique⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEveryone was great! It’s so nice to be treated like an actual person with kindness and respect. All doctors, nurses, and staff were extremely comforting and did everything they could to keep me well informed and my mind at ease. I am not a fan of hospital rooms or emergency visits but while I was there I was very cozy and well taken care of. They were extremely positive and kept me posted on everything as I waited. I just snuggled up with the warm blankets that were given to me and watched A Cinderella Story on TV. They truly made the stay as comfortable and smooth as possible. I am much better now and would feel terrible if I didn’t give them a good review! A huge thanks!Chelle Pepper⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have a fear of doctors, meds and being seen as “sick” in public. After coughing for nearly four weeks with nothing helping, my husband convinced me I should get checked out by a doc. We researched urgent care facilities in the area and found First Choice Emergency room. I can not express enough my appreciation and gratitude for the staff there. they were all very kind and welcoming. I did not feel like I was being looked down on. They were kind, patient, and understanding. Dr. Peacock was just, incredible. He took his time questioning me to get a full understanding of what was ailing me. I didn’t have to wait long for tests or results. Before I knew it I was cared for, given a diagnosis and sent home with treatments and follow up information. I want everyone who reviews this ER to know, personally, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you all at First Choice ER.Barb MonroeRude person answered the phone when I asked a simple question. I will look elsewhere to goKalie Krom⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a deep cut and came in for stitches recently. Even though they had a lot of other patients that night, they treated me very well and tried to get to me as quickly as possible. The staff was kind and tried to use conversation and humor to keep my mind off of the pain. Thanks guys!Todd Konrad⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFirst class facility all the way. I have nothing but the highest of praise and words for the doctors and the staff on the night of my visit!! They took care of me from the minute I arrived to when I left the ER. Top notch and I highly recommend them!!Elisabet Kirkland⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat place! I had to bring my toddler in late on a weekday night. They got us back to a room immediately and was very conscious of wait time. My son has slight doctor anxiety, but the staff was great and very engaging with him and his older brother. They both felt very comfortable with what was happening and the staff was great at explaining to him what they were going to do. Also, we saw the doctor almost immediately, which has never been my experience at other clinics. I felt like proper attention and instruction was provided, but was amazed that we were in and out in under an hour. Thank you to the staff!Skinny Winkler⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Father was an amazing General Practitioner Doctor- so my standards are very high. We pay cash for our Health Services so I am also very discerning on the business side of things. This location was very professional, friendly, and it didn’t break the bank. Daughter did a typical “hit her head on a sharp/blunt object”- with about a 1/2 profusely bleeding cut on the forehead. We were hoping to get away without stitches and the doctor agreed (avoid a scar on her face), and he had a truly amazing bed side manner. Dr. James Cusick gets two thumbs WAY up.ajThis is by far the worst ER i have ever been too! They have zero follow up or concern with their guest..if you call to adk a follow question they tell you they require you to pay a fee again to answer any questions!!! Complete joke….Save yourself grief and go to the North Suburban ER on Holly..they are always rock stars. P.S I do want to give a shout out to the nurse that helped us out at UC..Rex was awesome!..but that was where the good stopped.Brittany Crossman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came to First Choice ER with a foot injury from hiking. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist and the nurse was ready to take me back within five minutes of walking in. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed, efficiency, and thoroughness of all the staff, including the doctor. He really took his time examining my foot, looking at the x-rays, and explaining my injury and remedies to me. I woud definitely recommend First Choice ER for its friendliness, convenience, cleanliness, and overall experience. Thank you for making this a good experience in a time of stress and intense pain!Sherri Miotto⭐️⭐️⭐️The ER was super clean and everyone was super nice. But they didn’t really do anything for my daughter and a few days later the same problem happened again. It was a fast experience and we were in and out and able to get back right away.Lisa Saturday⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI love this place! I saw Dr. Peacock. He was great and so was the staff! I walked in and was taken care of right away! I’m so glad this place is right by my house; I wouldn’t bother going anywhere else. No one likes going to the ER but if you have to go – GO HERE! THANK YOU!!!!!!Larry HolleDont waste your time going here had trouble with swollen feet neede lasik which is water pill was going to be in town two days doctor said make an appointment with regular dr which i told him3 times i didnt have time for go to north suburban this place is always empty now i see why and they can wipe their ass with the bill im not paying for stupidityshelly rivera⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe took our son in after he took a hard fall on the playground and was complaining about rib pain and shortness of breath. From check-in to check-out the staff was amazing. We were taken right in…even before I had time to fill out paperwork. The nurses and staff were wonderful! They took time to listen to our boy and understand him. They spoke to him with kindness, and calmed him with the way they explained everything. We have had past experiences with intimidating ER staff treating us like we were a burden to just get through and send us on our way. The UCHealth Emergency staff actually cared and were very thorough when they were examining our son. Our son liked Dr. Peacock so much he even asked if he could be his doctor from now on. He asked me to write this review to say how great they were!Phil KelloggWent to this ER cause my tonsils we’re so swollen I couldn’t eat or drink for 2 days without intense pain. They didn’t even let me finish telling them what was wrong. Had me take 3 strep tests because of “machine issues”. Gave me a very mild steroid that didn’t work, and sent me out the door. From check in to check out, 30 min. Then they charged $6000 for that. $250 for “tests” and $30 for the steroid. I’ve broken bones and got x-rays, cast, pain pills etc and it cost me under $1000 at other ERs. Total rip off for half rate doctors that aren’t worth 1/4 of their priceLindsey DucaMy sister went into the ER tonight and was treated by Dr. Fraser (or Frazier). He was HORRIBLE. She has an extensive kidney infection – with her left kidney so swollen is was purtruding out the left side of her stomach. He wouldn’t even look at it, wouldn’t take her temperature even and told her to go home and take Tylenol. Hope to never see this doctor again. So unprofessional.Taniha Meraz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat experience, so friendly! I even got a get better card over the mail 🙂Michael Snyder⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAmazing staff. In and out in less than an hour. Never had such an amazing hospital experience.Adriana LanierI went into this location a few days ago after suffering from an anxiety attack. When I came in the front receptionist was very kind in helping me. I was hyperventilating and using a brown bag to help me breath. My whole body was shaking. Once I was taken back a nurse greeted me. I wish I remembered her name because my biggest complaint is with her. She had dark brown hair in a ponytail with glasses. She was very cold and rude to me while she asked me questions. When she put the in in my arm she was not gentle at all but rather shoved it in there. I have never had an I’ve hurt so much. After having tests done she said she would be back when she could. I sat with a painful empty Iv in my arm for almost an hour because she said she was wxtremely busy and swamped. My boyfriend opened our door to check what was going on and she was standing around laughing and talking with nurses in the hall. Not busy at all. There were no patients in the lobby or any of the other rooms. They prescribed me with an inhaler after keeping me on a nebulizer. I used the inhaler layer that night and. Had another panic attack. Went to a different urgent care the next morning st 3 suffering from another panic attack. They told me that was the worst thing they could have done for someone with anxiety. I wasted 200$ on a visit and 50$ on an inhaler that I will never use. This place is ridiculous and rude. Especially that nurses. Do not go here unless you want to be treated like crap and feel as if your sickness is all just a game and not important.Jennifer Walker⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I got in very quick. The nurse was very sweet which made me feel very comfortable. The shift change to the new nurse was flawless & the new nurse was just as caring.I felt very cares for and the pain was helped tremendously. Thankyou and I will tell friends and family.Lisa Roush⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery fast, clean, organized. I was there for a couple of hours and they ran complete blood work, were very thorough in explaining the results, and extremely friendly and accommodating. If we ever need to use an ER again, we will be returning.Rick Graham⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent here for a diagnosis of a painful lower leg injury. I chose First Choice because it is the closest ER clinic. Got in to be treated very quickly. All of the staff were polite, caring and professional. X-ray was taken and the results were explained to me within a 1/2 hour. The doctor prescribed medication for the pain, described my injury to me, gave me treatment information and answered all of my questions. All of the information was printed and given to me to take to my primary care physician for followup care. I left a little unclear how billing works. Overall a positive experience.Bree Sierra⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIf I could give more stars I would. Such amazing treatment and everyone actually cared about me and my pain. I am a chronic pain patient and everytime I go to an ER for a flare up I get treated like a drug seeker and get made to feel stupid for being in pain. Not here though. They treated me as a patient and showed concern and helped me. I would recommend to anyone. The woman at the front desk was very nice and showed concern and so were the Dr and nurse. I seen Dr Jody Stein and the nurse was Kirstyn or Kristyn, forgive me for forgetting, but I hope they see this review because they are awesome and actually care for a patients health and well being. Thank you Uchealth. You guys rock!Cat SlaughterBAD customer service and misleading office practices. The office manager was unfriendly and the office staff either do not know how insurance works or intentionally tell patients incorrect information. I was NOT told when I checked in and asked if they would like my copay before I was ever taken back to see a provider that I would be charged a $250 “deposit” not my co pay amount when I checked out. This is a privately owned “ER” that is not recognized by the government as an ER (I was told this by to office staff that checked me out) and is not contracted with insurance companies (I was told this after complaining to their billing department) they are just out to get your money! DO NOT GO TO THIS ER UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY WAY MORE THEN YOU HAVE TO! On a good note the Doctor who saw my daughter and the nurses were very nice, professional, friendly and good with kids.Colton BJackman is the master and awesome ….Godfrey or what ever the most ignorant persons name may be the tall female has no clue about anything….. Next may be a lawsuit for her came i n dis oriented from 8 seizures…. Knew the procedure… Knew they couldn’t help…but was ALONE…very rude…I’d fire immediately….couldn’t even handle giving out advice on a subject as simple…. as what the next direction to ask for help from there was… since you can’t help… And “exact words why are you here?” ” wave you hand on the door on your way out”…… Ahhh cuz I’m incoherent & alone!…. Let’s just seize fall and roll into traffic….Alexis H⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAs someone with chronic health problem, I have unfortunately been to quite a few ERs. When I walked in to First Choice, I didn’t even have my named filled out before I was being taken back to a room. I had a doctor in my room within 5 minutes! I have never experienced this at another ER. I had to get Xrays done and had results in about 20 minutes! Usually this process takes hours. Everyone was very friendly, very on top of things, and very knowledgeable. I was very impressed and if the time comes that I need an ER, I will return to First Choice. We always hope to never see the inside of an ER, but if that has to happen, First Choice ER is where I would recommend!!!Joni Scudder⭐️⭐️Let me say the staff at this hospital is great, very attentive and they did a fantastic job with my daughter. That being said they will rake you over the coals with their costs. I took my daughter who was 4 at the time in for an allergic reaction. She had hives and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone to find out what the dose for benadryl should be. She was also complaining about it being in her eyes and her ears. So we went into the ER and they gave her a dose of benadryl and sent her home. My final bill for a dose of benadryl was $2000.00.Mary LindowCondescending Doctors. Our son was the only patient in the whole facility and the doctors acted as if it was a complete waste of their energy and manners to show compassion and to listen. I truly hope Human Resources or some managing oversight person monitors the night shift crew. It was heartbreaking to see an adult son be in such excruciating pain with an IBS flare up and to be treated like it was ridiculous to vomit so much etc.Shellie Garcia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe had to take our daughter Jaylee here on Oct.25th, for treatment. We were pretty scared but they made you feel so comfortable. A wonderful group of doctors and nurses!!!! Thanks again Dr. Rein, Tim, Samantha, and Renee for everything!!!Joey Liu⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff is very nice and friendly. My nurse was very sweet. Wow thank you UCHStarlia Chiappettahorrible. wish i could leave a zero. my friend fell and hurt herself BAD and has had a brain aneurysm has a shunt in her head and was in terrible pain and they did NOT HELP her but turned her away and told her to take motrin. Wouldnt even give her motrin in the office. Never seen someone treated so poorly after being injured. The male doctors name was Frazier. Also seemed like they were racial profiling her.Sierra McClure⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery polite, funny, and helpful. Received all the help I needed. Thank you so much!Jennifer Wink⭐️⭐️⭐️The staff seemed pretty knowledgeable and friendly, although I felt like I was waiting longer than necessary a few times. They didn’t communicate with me how long I would be there very effectively, so I didn’t know if I was waiting for the medicine to all be injected or for them.Vanessa Zielbauer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy
