Before you go to UCSF, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this San Francisco emergency room think.
stella lim⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI meant to give 5 stars UCSF Benioff children hospital(not at Parnassus). Dr, nurses and staff were all friendly and caring! Dr came by fast to see my daughter and you can feel he genuinely cared!! He also explained fully and described in full detail in what had happened.Allan MillerUCSF is rated as a good hospital, but I guess that doesn’t include the ER or patient care as a criterion. I took my wife there because she was pretty sick, but the triage nurse kept putting others first. They seem to have some weird process where they admit their own patients from the wards into the ER. I spoke to the triage nurse twice but he didn’t care. After 4 hours of this, I called around and found out that the Kaiser ER had a short wait. I told the admitting nurse that we were headed over there, and she got grumpy and said we would be “starting the wait all over again”. She was quite wrong; we were in a bed there within 15 minutes and saw a doctor within 30. The Kaiser ER was also a much more pleasant environment and wasn’t filled with patients screaming in pain. Just skip this one and go straight to Kaiser.Les TVee2nd generation medical provider (Haywood Urgent Care, Hendersonville Emergency Consultants, Blue Ridge Family Medicine) – these people wouldn’t know compassion & care if it broke out like a rash on them. Was not allowed to REGISTER in their ER. Seems EMTALA doesn’t apply to UCSF. You are better served by 2° intention.Marge Torrance⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is just my latest visit to this ER. All my experiences have been awesome! The staff are knowledgeable, caring & as efficient as possible. I don’t understand complaints about a long wait. There is no ER in this country without a wait. Unfortunately I have sampled ER’S on the East Coast as well. This wins easily as best ER.Linda CheeAvoid at all costs. We left after 2 hours (after being told that 2 hours is not long to wait)JazzGirl9999⭐️⭐️⭐️Don’t come here on a weekend unless you’re dying. Seriously. Been waiting over 2 hrs with chest pain after being discharged 5 days ago for heart surgeryI HThe idiots in the ER Department do not verify anything that a patient tells them! Don’t worry. The state and JACO are gonna be questioning you guys soon! I wish you could give negative stars. It would be a negative 13 stars!Shamica SimpsonI arrived in severe pain and have been throwing up and in worse pain for three hours. The customer service is non existent and no one seems to care that I can barely walk. Hopefully they pick me up when I pass out…Andy Meyer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBit of a wait in the ER, but these people really know their stuff. Thanks Dr. Moore!Katie O’SheaWait times are HORRIBLE! I understand it is an ER but I have had better service in the past from hospitals such as SFGH and St. Lukes who have a higher influx of patients. Some of the nurses and docs were nice and others were not. If I could give zero stars I would.emily kluthHorrible! I came in with a broken neck the lady taking my blood pressure was absolutely rude she had a disgusting attitude being rude to the patients as well as my self with no reason at all I was very polite even so she talked to me and treated me horribly and placed me hours back on the waiting list right behind all the druggies horrible staff and the whole waiting room is filled with drugaditcs and weirdos. I would recommend going any where else honestly this place is gross partly because of the staff horribleJR DTerrible, no; horrendous experience. RN, doctor and other nurses do not listen to the patient and will write whatever they think they heard from you to be inserted in your medical report. Unbelievable! Almost 1 year ordeal to get this straightened…And still ongoing.Mo DulaimySo terrible service! I came with broken tooth and need to see doctor for antibiotic . They got me checked in and I’m waiting and waiting and patients came behind me got in and still waiting for 2 hours. Left behind because they are racist af. I hate them . Never gonna come here again.a.d.I went in for hernia surgery on the hernia surgery that was previously done at 6:00am, like everyone does, by 1:15pm. all the others were done and I was wheeled in front of a television in the furthest reaches of Anyone to hear or see me because I was asking questions, complaining, etc.etc. (Normal) , thirsty/hungry from not drinking/eating from 10pm. the night before (Dr’s orders SOP), told one sip they wouldn’t be able to operate. Not told what they were gonna do, except explore, while I’m under anesthesia and can’t give permission or not to do whatever. 3:30pm. Nurse brought my clothes in, left room, 4pm. I left. Now they’re ticked at me and want me to reschedule. NOT!!! Don’t have any plans to visit with the hospital ever again.Joel Bailey⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My son was injured during his high school track practice . Hit in left upper cheek and split his cheek open. The staff especially Nurse Practioner “Deena” was so warm and funny . Made a yucky experience, pleasant ! The whole staff was pleasant and very helpful. Very blessed this is our insurance right now.Kathryn Souza⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEveryone was super nice and helped me out with diagnosing my appendicitis. They took me in quickly and I didn’t have to wait at all. They did all the tests needed and got everything done. Thank you so much to the wonderful ER staff.Jimenez JoelChristina⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI live in the Central Valley and I was sent by my physician at UCSF when I became seriously ill. ALL the staff was friendly, helpful, professional and most importantly truly cared about my health. Yes, I was in a gurney in the Hall but I was being attended to while waiting for my bed. This hospital has an excellent reputation with medical knowledge not known to local physicians. If you think this medical facility is horrible, then come to a Valley ER, you will change your mind very quickly. UCSF is great!!!Cindy MaThis is not the ER to go to if you have an emergency and need to be seen quickly (<1 hour). Average wait time, no matter the time of the day, seems to be at ~2 hours (this is what the nurse told me) and tonight it was 4-5 hours wait. When they said the wait time, I went silent because I was shocked, the nurse said "it's normally 2 hours at any given time." Lot's of people in the waiting room, the waiting room itself was actually dirty (trash stuffed in the chairs, crumbs on the chairs, and a loogie on a chair as well). Sleepy and slow moving ERAsaundra DaltonWorst experience ever. Wish I cools give 0 stars. I have been waiting over 3 hours for results I was told would be back in 30 minutes to one hour. No one came to check on me during my wait. I even pushed the emergency button multiple times for pain meds and no one came. I asked multiple nurses for help and they ignore me. Moral of the story, if you have an emergency don’t come here.Corey Salzer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was treated very thoroughly and quickly by the nurses and doctors here.Ruth AbadillaFirst and last time we will ever go to the ER there ever again! They put my husband in a cold drafty corridor on a gurny, in front of the main doors, and he had just got over pneumonia, and possibly had got it back again, he had to keep on asking for blankets! Then a guy walked off of the street stole a needle from one of the rooms, shot himself up with it on od’d on it, all in plain sight of my husband and a security guard, my husband reported it, but the useless security guard did nothing, but let it happen! This is supposed to be one of the top hospitals? Really????-wendy quatumtalk⭐️⭐️⭐️Two more stars for Alison the x-ray tec*****. And, I do mean all five stars. Thank you, Alison, my left foot and my right foot: Now to get my back looked at by another hospital. UCSF can only handle one thing at a time. Saint Mary’s playing the game, but still did the the back examination and X-ray. Thank you from the top of my spine. -wendyankit tomerReally bad emergency services. Waiting time so long you could fall sleep and take a good nap. Expect 4-5 hours of wait time amd be ready to tell your story to all the nurses you see.Maria ScharenbergWaited 48 hrs for transfer to hospital bed. Very small, overcrowded and.cleanliness questionable. Very impressed with Physicians and Nurses. Diagnostic research was immediate and excellent.John Castberg⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had to visit my girlfriend here on short notice, the staff was pleasant, and guided me through the process. A doctor visited us pretty quickly, and told us what to expect, gave us numbers to call, etc. Overall, it was a positive experience during an unfortunate occurrence.Nelson Flores7 horas wait ….in one of the best hospitals in the US. So much pain, misery and too much employees doing not much. Just looking all the time their phones.Abby Q Mudd⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent quality and care. Almost all of the doctors and nurses who work there have excellent bedside manner..(minus a few)Thomas S. PainterFeb 9/10 A complete and utter nightmare. Started at 9pm on Wed night. Ended at 6:45 am. Was told by doctor if the swelling in the ankle got worse, to go to ER. IT DID, WE DID. Made to wait in a waiting room where my son could not elevate his foot. 10 hrs to be told that he didn’t have what he just spent 4 nights in the hospital for…. I left him to get some sleep, tried calling the ER to arrange an Uber ride for him….they sent him WALKING with no assistance. I asked for them to locate him, three separate people said no. Avoid at all costs!!!!Elya OkhlopkovaAbsolutely disappointed with this emergency room!!!!! Awful experience. My husband fell, and had a head injury, his T-shirt was full of blood, we have been in the waiting room more than 1 hour. After this we decided go to another hospital. We will never go there again, and would not recommend it to another people!!!!! This ER shouldn’t be in the hospital who advertise themselves like they are one on the top 10 hospitals in US.Reza FazlollahiOne of the worst experiences of my life! They are so incredibly rude. I came in for chest pain and now ive been waiting for 5 hrs! Please go somewhere else if you value your health.Megan LesterI can’t believe you followed through on outsourcing your entire IT team with cheap Indian workers. At least you could admit publicly (on 60 Minutes) that you made a mistake and abused the H1 Visa program…but that didn’t stop you from following through on laying off and forcing the American workers to train their replacements. You should be ashamed of yourselves. What you did was greedy, immoral, humiliating and un-American. When I see you complaining on Twitter about needing your Federal research dollar I think you’re an organization that shouldn’t be trusted with valuable tax dollars.ankush tomarVery bad ER. Waited for almost 4 hours for a rn to come visit the patient.Patricia Fairbrother⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey have the best specialists and great service.susannah wegner⭐️⭐️⭐️Did not do a full evaluation from car accident and asked me to undress in public Other departments I give 5star too Spine centre and mission bay…HamadafeWorst EMERGENCY ever, bad service, was waiting in the room for an hour, not even a nurse came to check up on me. That after 3 hours waiting in the waiting room. I left the room and saw the doctor was sitting and chatting with two nurses. If you care about your health just avoid to go there.Firdavs AkilovI fell at soccer and had extremely pain on my leg, they wanted to accept like patient and said wait time is 4 hours. Really??Joan Ramirez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had two of my baby’s there !!?!…fareal and the was takin care of me the whole time !!Melissa HuangEndless waiting. Where are the doctors? 2 hours and still nowhere to be seen. They even say our patient wasn’t assigned, and “we just got settled.” I thought this is Emergency Room.Mohammad Bolal WafaAlready waited for 4 hours, don’t know how long more will wait just to see a doctor.
