The staff had been externally helpful. They are working hard to impress. Rooms are spacious, and efficient. They have a convertible dinette/ table / bed for a loved one to sleep over. Large screen TV, and floor to ceiling windows make the space very comfortable. (I actually work at another hospital for years) I was very surprised at the customer service and attention to detail for even your family in the waiting room. This place was very clean. I had a very positive experience for a difficult thing I had to just get done. I was in with a nurse within 15 minutes, doctor in less than 30 minutes and getting a CT scan within an hour. Within an hour and a half I was admitted into a room and already scheduled to talk to a surgeon because it was my appendix. Have been here for now 3 days and the care here is EXCELLENT! Very pleased with how the nurses and staff treated me, how the surgeons and assistants made sure i felt comfortable! They even made sure my spouse who stayed here every second with me was comfortable. I recommend this hospital 100%!!!Tony Burch Poor patient relations and fake positive reviews. The responses you see to these bad reviews are fake. When you call the customer service number given, you get the same people who handle billing. They do not care. I was listened to at every appointment, every doctor and midwife listened to me and always contacted me back within 24 business hours when I would send a message to the office. Hannah, Kelsey, Carol and the rest of the nurses on duty during my stay were amazin . Thank you UF North*Jill Underwood Went to er with stomach issue. Dr. Used stethoscope on stomach and determined “blockage”. 20 mins max and no other testing. Just audio from stethoscope. I’m still in pain now prominently in lower ab. Could not get any follow-up for testing and now 13 lbs lighter because I can’t hold solids. Going to another er. Don’t know- what my bill will be but it should be zero for the slam bam service. I can only hope the issue didn’t/doesnt get worse. There were so many things he could have checked for. Appendix, bladder, ovary, intestine issue. No interest from them. **To follow up – it WAS a ruptured appendix that almost killed me. This was due to UF Health North’s18 min stethoscope service in the ER on Sat morning-Aug 17. That lack of concern cost me 5 months of my life. The UFNorth ER also billed me- along with my insurance over $1400- which I paid with insult to injury. The patient advocate office said this was good ER service. As as healthy woman – I went into that ER complaining that my abdomen (more on rt side) hurt and I couldn’t keep down food and was told it was constipation and he was going to save me money. Money wasn’t why I went to an ER! Went to Baptist downtown ER the next week. They confirmed I had now (because of time lapse)- gotten too infected to take out appendix. Spent 2 months on antibodics and a week in Baptist. I rechecked myself into Mayo ER out of frustration/pain. Thank God Mayo fixed the mess that could have been easily caught from the get go. I couldn’t get surgery until Oct 22 because of the infection. I almost lost my colon! Never ever got an apology from UF Health North…just bills for the drive by service. I contacted patient advo to no avail. So the response note below shows they don’t even care- because my review said I contacted the patient advocate office and even the head of that department. I’m just going to file a complaint with the FL Dept of Health. I had laceration on a finger that needed stitches. The room was clean, modern, and attractive. I was greeted soon after by a friendly nurse that removed my dressing. Next, a PA came in and assessed the damage. We discussed the options and decided on the type of local anesthetic I would have. She was friendly, professional, and skilled. She thoroughly numbed my finger and came back a few minutes later. The wound was cleaned and sewn. No pain at all and great stitches. A different nurse came in to give me a tetanus shot, perfectly. Then a friendly lady from Registration came to give me the paperwork to sign. Then another nurse came to wrap my finger and discharge me. I was there 2 hours. I have nothing but great feelings after my visit. Thank you UF Health.Naugsy I selected this hospital for my care during pregnancy because they are new and smaller. The one OB appointment I was able to get was okay but be aware that if you are experiencing concerning pregnancy symptoms you will be sent to the downtown location. You will not actually be able to be seen by your RN or Doctor. But this review is about my experience in the ER. The bed side manner that I received was atrocious. I had gone in because I had experienced a blood clot the size of my hand, this would be concerning and horrifying to anyone. She had the least care for my concern. After and ultra sound and blood tests I was sent home, no questions answered. I was told that I could call to move up my appointment. In fact every time I tried to ask a question she became more rigid and just repeated her statement of moving up my appointment. It was only one day later that I lost my daughter in a miscarriage. However I came to know, days later, via her report on my portal that was done that same morning that I had been seen, that she knew I was having a miscarriage but said NOTHING. Literally. I understand that nothing could be done to stop my miscarriage but I cannot believe that the MD knew what was going on and did not tell me or have any type of compassion for me. This is the type of care you will receive by choosing UF North.Isis Anut Waited for 5 hours , was then told that there was still 15 people ahead of me…I just left ..I guess the valets shift was over ..so me and my mother asked the guard ” where’s the valet” her response was “they gone” …it was like pulling teeth to get anymore info…only to find out she had our keys…it’s seems like everyone there hates their job….it was the closest hospital but I will never go back….the triage nurses were the only ones that even acted like they cared… everyone else was garbage…Colleen Hanner Wen to the ER yesterday for abdominal pain for over 24 hours (I am still in pain). Yes check in was fast and my nurse Adrienne was awesome. But didn’t appreciate the doctor too much. He was nice but he was a resident. They paid attention to my reproductive system rather than my actual problems. When everything came back good I was discharged and told to see my primary care and if it gets worse then come back. It was the absolute BEST experience I could have asked for. Every single nurse/midwife/doctor made us feel like we mattered. We were cared for at the best level! I tell everyone who is having a baby, this is the place to go! I am a first time mom, and was scared out of my mind. Everyone made me feel so comfortable and ready to take on this new adventure. They made us laugh and really enjoy our experience there. They were extremely caring and never made me feel uncomfortable with any of the not so pleasant stuff that happens after giving birth. The doctor diagnosed her with an inflamed gall bladder and scheduled her for surgery. She was cared for by some very wonderful people in the ER and just prior to the surgery. The team that cared for her before her surgery were also very wonderful and explained everything they were going to do step by step. She spent the night in observation after her surgery and the next day she was doing great. I was very impressed with the hospital staff. They made sure she was kept comfortable and cared for. My mother is extremely difficult, hardheaded (age) and has had spinal stenosis for many years which is very incapacitating. The nurse and midwife (I’m a terrible person and dont remember their names!) were awesome. They were very encouraging and helped me to have the natural delivery that I wanted. There was a laboring tub…that i hated but other people love that kind of thing. I was able to use nitrous as a pain management and that helped a bit through the contractions. My baby has never left the room and delayed cord clamping is done procedurally here.Christopher Perrin My one-star review is in regards to UF’s decision to shut down The Birth Center, which is by far the best in the city. Why would do that? There are a lot of sad friends of mine and families that will miss recommending The Birth Center to their pregnant family and friends. One of my best friends was at the Emergency Room to be seen by a doctor, few weeks ago. We were treated very well by the hole entire Emergency Department. Robert the paramedic, who checked in my friend, was so great and very professional. Robert had answered all of my friends questions. Y ’all have an amazing crew, we were in and out very quickly. My friend and I were also treated extremely well by the Security Department as well. One of the guards, I remember his name. His name is James. James was so sweet and very kind towards us. James had escorted me to the Starbucks Coffee Shop, and to my vehicle in the pouring down rain.Veronica Graybill I took my nephew here for a maybe broken arm or a bad jam. They took his blood and never told me what was taken place I had to ask question. Never keeper me informed of what they was doing. I will never go here again. Will go to any other hospital then this one.Donald Frum Thought was great staff give or take a couple and good new hospy with a view of sorts even. After 27 days and dealing with diff drs in charge every shift found one that would listen that I don’t absorb anything oral then Dr sent me for x-rays of neck and shoulder that had been hurting for almost two months but had flared up again pretty bad. Anyways woke up from few hours finally slept to be told Dr was there and tried to wake me which is B’s and to find out all my IV medications, I’d all had been changed to oral again. Lousy treatment and when woke next morning was damn near shoved out getting me to sign ama then didn’t return all my property they put in safe either. First hospital dealt with since arriving in Florida and sure as hell know I’ll die before go back to anywhere to be treated like thatShannon Watson I would give this place a ZERO rating if I could. WORST hospital I have ever been to. ER has ZERO triage and takes patients only in the order they arrive regardless of if you are suffering. During examination mentioned that I get a rash on my legs during work happens sporadically she stated to “just come on by when it happens again and we will do a skin sample and see what’s going on” have been dealing with this issue for 3 weeks now when I call they say she is to busy to see me but can make an appointment for several days out. Which would be fine if I could make the rash appear at will. I find this situation very rude and unprofessional. Had higher expectations so disappointed.Lorilyn Slaughter I went into the E.R due to my wisdom tooth being impacted and I do not have dental insurance.. I specifically asked for antibiotics due to fear that the impacted tooth had become infected. While I was talking to the Nurse about how I believe antibiotics would help, two more nurses and the doctor came in which sparked some worry for me beings how I felt like one nurse and one doctor was enough to take care of a patient with a tooth issue. It was simple and I was in and out very fast but while I was speaking with the doctor, I repeated the same thing I told the nurse which was that I wanted some antibiotics just to stop it from becoming super infected to give me time to save money to have it pulled.. the very moment I mentioned the word “pain” the doctor immediately cut me off and told me “I can either shove a needle in your mouth or refer you to pain management” and I was taken back by the harshness in his tone when telling me this due to the fact that I had repeatedly told them that all I wanted was some sort of antibiotic. I get that doctors deal with a lot of drug addicts who just want a quick fix but I am a 21 year old woman who just wants to keep her jaw in once piece I do not appreciate being treated like I’m the rest of these young junkies in oceanway. I made it a point to tell them I only wanted antibiotics and still got treated like I just shot up in their bathroom. After dealing with being treated like a drug addict and telling them I didnt need narcotics, he proceeded to prescribe me 9 hydrocodone. Where is the sense in that? Think about it.. you walk into the E.R … you CLEARLY state you have pain in this region of your body.. but woops someone made a mistake & said you advised you had pain in this region of your body based on the recording of your symptoms which is why we did this unneeded test so we can fraudulently charge your ins. For a test you never needed because the pain was never close the that region of your body. Bottom line if you come in with sever abdominal pain… they feel it necessary to do an xray of your chest … just take that in for a second and let me know when you determine where the logic came into play with “plan of care”. When the nurses even know that the doctor is a rude donkey.. you know it’s no good. Smells. What is even scarier is when they say ” what do you mean you didnt say that ?!” the e.d doctor (who keep in mind is also the director) has in the medical records what you reported” . Folks, this is 101 with pt relations.. you NEVER EVER raise your hand to a patient and tell them to stop talking.. just bc you think you got enough out of the 5 or 6 words I was able to get out of my mouth WHEN YOU ARE ASKING THEM ABOUT WHY THEY ARE IN THE E.D .. the point of asking a question is to receive an understanding answer.. to help you.. help me..Johnathon Bailey the Drs have no manors when talking to family today is july 2nd 2019 12:30 and one of my Dads Drs told me i was stupid and ignorant at the 4th floor nursing station in front of about 6 nursing staff but when asked by a supervisor they say they didn’t hear yet but when the Dr said that to me the whole nurse’s station went quite and they all looked at they could not believe she just did thatChristopher Rogers This place is like a puppy mill for humans. I’ve been here a few times thinking, it will be better this time around or last time I just had a bad doc. Then after I go I regret it. They order a lot of tests (normally I don’t care if you’re getting somewhere) and then they just tell you you’re dehydrated and send you on your way. When I go to the ER, I take my iPad with me to keep me calm and they always think that because I’m not yelling in pain and trying to remain calm, that somehow that means you’re ok regardless of what the issue really is. The one good thing I will say about them is that almost every test I’ve had done, they bring the tests/machines to you.
