Before you go to Unity Hospital – Emergency Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Rochester emergency room think.
Alan DelanoI’ve been stuck in the waiting room for hours they took me back to X-ray and there was several open bed spaces in the back. Instead they are having me and several other patients out in the waiting room when there is clearly no shortage of bed space in the back I could count at the very least 8 empty beds in back. They are not conscious of how long they have people waiting or anything else they do not care about the time it takes to bring someone to be checked out. I came in due to coughing up blood bright red blood. They stuck me in the waiting room instead of being checked out. I’ve also been wheezy and short of breath but they are not even paying attention to any of that at allPearl BeeRollover car accident, multiple times 10/17. Return date to work on slip was 10/19 how tf do I make that happen- if it was y’all friend family would you do that- this is ridiculousLaquinn Rose⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLuv the staff treated me with luv & good careKathy BaroneWould you want your loved one left in a hallway for over 20 hrs? Although I saw empty rooms. We were told there were none available! How is one expected to remain in a hallway throughout the night under bright lights with constant noise; buzzers, bells & whistles!!!! Staff seemed to pass the buck on one another and although my loved one was in a yellow gown, staff had not been informed of her being a “fall risk” patient! Will think twice about going there again.Miranda LindsayThis ED deserves zero stars. Front desk staff and triage nurses were friendly and helpful. The facility itself is pretty run down in appearance. The shared patient bathroom was disgusting and filthy. I wouldn’t even consider using it. My personal experience was that the doctor wouldn’t even run any kind of testing. I was discharged without any examination or what would be considered standard testing for the issue I came in with. I was treated like I was wasting the doctor’s time by being there, despite coming for something that I was concerned was life threatening. I’ll never come to this hospital again. The wait at Strong might be all night, but at least I’d get treated like a real person. At Unity, you’re a body on a bed and a way to bill the insurance. I’ll be disputing the charges.Nancy Middlebrook⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI like unity emergency they have really great staff. I have always been examined by the staff. Womens gynecologist and Childbirth clinic deliberately made me so sick they prescribed antibiotics for me before my culture was back. My urine sample was contaminated always they wanted to use a catheter. I have mental problems. I am dehydrated and very sick now. I feel terrible.Squishy WatchbeeDo not go to this emergency room unless you want to die. This is the worst emergency department in the world and they should be shut down. My father was taken to this emergency room because he was passing out and falling. They barely did any tests at all on him and, being that I had medical training myself, I noticed his stats. The doctor was ready to send him home and I pointed out my dad’s stats and said are you crazy? You can’t send him home. The doctor literally asked me what he should do? I told him that, even with the little bit of training I had, it was obvious that this man needed a pace maker. Low and behold he did and they put one in. If I hadn’t have spoken up, he would have been sent home and died. Despite my pleas that my parents stop going to this horrible hospital, they went there again after a horrific car accident. When I arrived, I found my father in horrible shape, bleeding profusely from wounds that nobody had even looked at. They barely did any tests and sent him home. Sure enough, he had a horrible bleed in his brain and had to be rushed back to the hospital, this time to Rochester General (a real hospital with real doctors) where he ended up requiring 2 brain surgeries that saved his life. Again, only by the grace of Jesus Christ, did he survive both of these experiences at this joke of a hospital. Do not go there if you value your or your loved ones lives.Vero VerdeVery bad service. Just Horrible!! I brought someone in who was in SEVERE PAIN in the kidney area, crying because how bad the pain was. The staff were slow. We waited in the waiting room for at over an hour before they even brought us into the emergency room. Then had us wait there as well. Definitely one of the worst hospitals and worst ER in America. I wouldn’t come to this place even if I was dying and their was no other hospitals around!!! If your looking for a hospital or an ER and your in the Rochester area, head to Rochester General Hospital or Strong Hospital!!! One star is still too much for them. I wish I knew how to change it to no stars!Kimba S.DISGUSTING,RUDE INEPT ED STAFF BREAKING MANY HIPPA LAWS DISCHARGED WITH WIRES ALL OVER MY CHEST THAT CAUSED SEVERE BURNS AND DAMAGE this is how I was discharged after taking many x-rays and ct scans no doctor ever came in to discuss my xrays or CT scans THEY SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN U NEED TO PAY ME FOR WHAT YOU DID! These photos were taken inside my car after being discharged like this!Joe LaTonaGood times. Placed into a hallway for 4 hrs. It’s like they don’t even see you sitting there. Don’t care what illness, day of the week or time it is, absolutely unnecessary. Staff up already! The GoatThis place is a joke I was in the hallway the whole visit with my wife. I know they violated HIPPA laws they put our business out for the whole hallway to hear. So unprofessional plus the place was so dirty you guys have to do better. I will not be coming back plus I will be reporting this to the news team plus family and friends. Thank youFlakron Gervalla⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcept the security some un experienced gives me a are time for been there and a Dr …itherwice Thanx to others and nursessNohely ArteagaMy experience was not that bad but I just think it was so unprofessional when a nurse in the Emergency department was complaining that they were getting more patients, saying “its midnight, what do they do all freaking day!” She could of at least made sure patients weren’t around when she said this.mo carlon⭐️⭐️I came here two days ago for abdominal pain and I was give different Ivy’s and oxy and told have a nice day. Two days later back here for abdominal pain I am actually writing this as I wait. I have been waiting for over two hours in the waiting room; when I asked them when I would be seen they moved me into the back and I have been her for 30 minutes and have yet to meet my nurse. Before coming back here a male made me feel uncomfortable by asking if I needed help undressing. Now that I understand is his job but he continued to be persistent say “well if you do need help let me know.” I was uncomfortable period because I was to strip to my bare underwear to lay in a hallway where many pass and disregard my existence. Not even a blanket is on my bed and I was suppose to strip bare. Not even a blanket was offered. I am in pain right now I can hardly move or talk cause you’d be surprise how much your body relys on your abdomen. Honestly, if I could take back the papers I signed I would and I would drive somewhere else. I hear these nurses giggling and talking about nothing but not one has walked these halls or checked on me I have this 3 stars understanding it is and er but no that I sit here and listen to nurses talk about shots, and children, and not one had acknowledged I’m here. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE I WILL DIE FIRSTKevin BeekmanFriend of mine was sliped somthing in her drink the previous night and was suffering from dehydration stomach pain and unable to urinate for the past 24hours showed up at 830pm on Saturday night and now it is 530am sunday all they did was check her vitals and sent her to waiting room so shes technically admitted so they can bill the insurance company as such all we are asking for is a tox screen and iv fluids to rehydrate her to help get her to urinate for sample many people with sprained wrist and such came in and gone well at lest 10 people with real issues that need help are forced to sit for over 8 hours and when we all ask whats going on they clame that its due to house cleaning not able to keep up yet people are still going in and coming out discharged well the rest still waitsBrian ValderThe staff is so rude and take so long to do anything even in the middle of the night. We left after a few hours of sitting in a room waiting for somebody to take care of us and the place was dead. I will never go back to that hospital for anything couldn’t believe how we were treated.Drs1965 Smith⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat hospital to go too for all your careDaniel TooleTerrible, even when ER isnt busy they take forever, ive gotten into two motorcycle accidents broke my scapula, second time strained achilles road rash and rehurt scapula and both time no pain medication, ridiculousKim MattMy sister just gave birth to her 1st baby there and it was a horrible experience for her. She came in having contractions 2.5 min apart, walked around, they tell her to go home because she wasn’t progressing enough. Actually said that she may not progress for up to 3 days (This was an interns assessment). So she went home only for her water to break an hour later. She rushed back to the hospital, at this point she is 8cm. Spent 35 min in triage because they didn’t have a room ready. By the time she got a room, she was fully dilated and ready to push which meant too late for any medicine. The Dr who delivered the baby was amazing, so was the drs for the baby. However the nursing staff after she delivered was terrible. They switched her rooms and forgot to bring her meals, forgot to stock her room with the female products needed after giving birth, forgot to stock the towels. When they were asked to bring these items to her they seemed annoyed and took them over 30 min. She was required to have a nurses assistance when getting up to go potty, when she called to ask for help, they took another 25min in which time she was in pain for waiting so long. They spoke to her like she was an idiot. They made her very upset while trying to breastfeed which in turn made the baby upset. They didn’t care. When the lactation specialist came she finally received the care that she should’ve been given all along. I could understand if they were understaffed and busy, but every time we had to go to the nurses station there was at least 9 nurses sitting there chatting and laughing with each other. I will never recommend this hospital and i hope they will get staff in there that actually cares about patients.Jackie GirauloDO NOT GIVE BIRTH AT THIS HOSPITAL. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GIVING BIRTH IN A PRISON. Dirty hospital, rude and angry staff. If you’re lucky you will get a good nurse who has experience but you won’t have her for long until you get either a novice or a rude witch to deal with. Carol was amazing if I had her my whole week there I wouldnt have had all the problems I had there. Obviously no one really does quality checks in that hospital.Amy Young⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLocated on Long Pond Rd within Unity Hospital. The nursing staff is top notch. The doctors are caring, knowledgeable and diverse. Top of the line testing and imaging equipment.Jason Engert⭐️⭐️Although this is one of the better emergency departments I’ve been to they still have a problem with rude staff and not being very thorough I would suggest trying to find a place that you are comfortable with if you’re looking for fast emergency care this is the place if you’re looking for a definite answer you probably would find it faster on GoogleChuck YoungWaited over 3 hours to be seen by a Dr. Bathroom was disgusting.
