Before you go to University Hospital and Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Tamarac emergency room think.
Alison Lobban⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedER last Thursday was extremely busy but Nurse manager Nickie made sure the folks in the waiting area knew what was happening and also she handed it juice to whoever wanted. They were very organized even though they didn’t have any rooms. I still got my x ray, and blood work done, thanks to nurses practitioner (sorry forgot her name) and sweet nurse Alyssa.Howard Ackerman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was required to take a chest x-ray for an outpatient procedure. This made registration with the outpatient department a necessary. Both the registrar and the x-ray technician could not have been nicer. They made the entire experience very wonderful! I was told today that my procedure was going to be at University Hospital instead of the original planned surgical center. Again, Laura, the nurse practitioner who interviewed me could not have been nicer. I anticipate my procedure and care will be. Excellent!Mickey Giardino⭐️⭐️⭐️All personnel we’re extremely helpful and kind and caring. Even the housekeeping staff. I was on the third floor 334 and was treated very well by all especially a girl named Christine who is very kind and caring and deserves a pat on the back. She was sincerely professional in every way. There were others as well but the only thing text kept this from being rated higher was the almost inedible food!Rose MarieIf you are in extreme pain they will not give you any medication even if it takes 2 to 3 days to find out what’s wrong with you. You only get medication after they give you a diagnosis it’s been three days now no pain medication I’m ready to escape this place. My pain has been unbearable. I do not wish this on anyone. So in essence university hospital is not a place to go when you are in pain. It’s more like a clinic. I was admitted to the fourth floor. The nurses were trying to get me more medicine for the pain because they are the only ones that can see how much agony I was in. Hospital policies will not give you pain medicine no matter how much pain you’re in. Thank you pain management of university hospital he did a great injustice to me who was suffering from Extreme pain. It’s a shame that because of the opiate crisis and people abusing it now it makes it harder for people who really need it. But, I blame University Hospital 110% for not administering pain relief. Day threejerry pearlNursing care was excellent and overall stay was fine. However, I have some pretty serious issues with my stay as well. I was admitted for a possible TIA and the neurologist scheduled an MRI “stat” , which was supposed to happen shortly after his visit or first thing the following morning. I didn’t get my MRI until later the following afternoon because my “stat” status had inadvertently been removed. That kind of mistake could have been extremely dangerous for me. Fortunately, all checked good after finally getting the MRI and the results. Also, my glucose level was supposed to be maintained between 140 and 180 according to the Neurologists instruction. That never happened, so I’m now questioning whether the MRI, which was supposed to detect any tissue that may have had uptake of the glucose iv solution that was being administered actually was able to determine anything regarding potential tumor activity or suspect areas in my brain. These types of errors are what could kill someone in the hospital.ARTHUR COLLIER⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEvery thing was fabulous. This is the best hospital we have ever been in!!! A few years ago, this was the worst hospital in Fla. Now it is the BEST! Personal was awesome.Third Floor, MINI.head nurse. Landrie, head nurse. And the very best was Nurse Dawn. But all Nurses were over the top ,GREAT! Please look into. communication between communication dept , first floor ( AMY ) and car valet.. I left hospital after hours,.Picked up my keys and was told twice where my car was ,Not there?.Could’t find my car ( 25 minutes ) until I found a security Guard that took me outside and helped me, if not for that I would have never found my car. HOSPITALS FAULT. BECAUSE OF LACK OF TRAINING. AMY DIDN’T KNOW….. EVERY THING WAS G-R-E-A-T. Susan Collier patient DOB 10/7/1942Nancie FurgangMy mother’s stay at this hospital was more debilitating than the situation that brought her there. Her first night, someone slept in the empty bed in her semi-private room and no one seemed to know about this. Cleanliness is not a priority nor is patient support. My mother was put in a diaper although she was not incontinent. I had to plead for aides to take her to the toilet . The food is of poor quality and physician staff is inattentive. Security staff is insolent, unhelpful and unapproachable. This hospital has most definitely NOT kept up with current trends in healthcare. The rehab department is PT only and activities of daily living are not evaluated for discharge disposition. Rooms are small. I have to wonder about the financial relationship between physicians who have “privileges” here, and the hospital. The name of this hospital is related to the street it is on, not a university affiliation. Overall, this is a hospital out of another era. Spend less money on your outdoor waterfall and more on patient care.Beverly May⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was a patient for 4 days in room 507. The nurses and aids was always nice and professional. They always introduced themselves daily. My memory is not good, but I remember Patricia and Lorraine. An evening nurse name starts with a L. She answered questions I had and that meant a lot to me. Most of the time I forget to ask my Dr. Nurse Heather was was very nice too and answered questions I had. Patricia hugged and held me so close to her while I was having a painful procedure done. And that meant a lot to me. My overall experience was the best. I love this Hospital and Staff.Paul D⭐️⭐️I went to the emergency room for stomach problems. I had a CAT scan, blood tests, chest x-ray. The staff was okay. The doctor only told me that I had diverticulosis and constipation. I did not receive a copy of my results and had to send for them. When I was able to get an appointment with my doctor, I found out that there was a mass on my lungs. I had to have further tests and it is now 7 weeks later. I am going to Cleveland Clinic for a PET Scan and biopsy. There was also problems with the blood test that I was not told about. I am upset because if I have cancer, time was wasted.Stephanie Meltzer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was on fast track after a auto accident. The care was good. The only issue I have is the CT tech was not friendly, and did not assist helping me out of the wheelchair. And when I was discharged they did not wheel me to waiting room where I was to wait for my ride. Again I just experienced a motor vehicle accident and brought in by ambulance. Otherwise , the nurse and ARNP , and transport was excellent.Nancy Porras⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent Professionals, my mother had an emergency surgery a couple of weeks ago, she was very nervous cause she doesn’t speak English, as soon as she meat the OR nurse she felt less anxious because was a Hispanic nurse and treat my mother like family, very professional also she called me to let me know my mother was doing great during the surgery and she was so careful with my mothers laboratory results, also she went next day to check on here to the fourth floor she really love her profession like all the nurses of the floor and the anesthesiologist I recommended this hospital 100% my mother will always remember your hospitality, I think the OR nurse name was Adriana and the recovery nurse was Bonnie thanks to all of you and Dr Alegre.malinda mcpherson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had to take my husband to the E.R due to extreme abdominal discomfort and we were treated with outstanding care ! Every single employee from the Security desk to the E.R Staff was absolutely fantastic! The staff did their jobs swiftly with smiles on their faces and kind informative answers to any question we had. These employees worked respectfully with each other and the patients which is 5 Star Quality! With Much Appreciation, We Thank You Again! John & Malinda AlbericoIra Bankoff⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was treated very well during my emergency room visit last week. RN Amanda was very courteous, friendly and competent. The MD who treated me was also very good.Laura Mrs.LJW08⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Went last week for breathing problem turns out I also had gallstones so I did surgery the following day. The nursing staff in ER was wonderful and the one’s on the 3rd and 4th floor too. My issue is with the lady in ER that check you in . I had to come back Friday because I still have issues breathing and she was very unpleasant, she needs to know how to deal with patients we are there for a reason so show some kind of compassion that’s what a nurses are supposed to do especially when you’re the first one we are seeing before going to triage and it’s not the first time I noticed that.Richard Steere⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️It was just an outpatient medical test but the people were friendly and seemed competent. Outpatient check-in went smoothly and the whole event remained pretty much on time.Ralph Giddins⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI spent two days at UHMC after a surgical procedure. This facility exceeded my expectations in every area. I recall being very impressed by the smell and cleanliness of this hospital. I was assigned a semi- private room (it could have housed two patients if necessary) however, for my stay it was converted to a private room with 1 bed. It”s hard to express how comforting, a minor detail like that, becomes. You always hear people complain about hospital food, however from my experience at UHMC, I don’t get it. Three, hot, complete, appetizing ” HEALTHY” meals, set up in front of you the same time every day, left me extremely satisfied. All of the above requires scores of very capable, behind the scene staffing, to make it happen, and I applaud them loudly today. I get a little choked about the care I received from the front line ( face to face, everyday ) personnel, during my stay. Many people would not receive the care and attention I received, if they were bedridden in their own home, being cared for by their own family. Besides being professionally capable, the staff at UHMC seemed receive a special delight in ensuring my utmost physical and mental comfort, including making sure I had an opportunity to exercise my vocal cords….cheers and bravo to them all.Maritza Abstencio⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am very pleased with the care provided to my 89 old Mom. Friendly and professional staff. I am very thankful you are in this area to care for us when we need you. The Doctors, nurses and staff are professional and very thorough.SHARON CHENEVERT⭐️⭐️The hospital staff was courteous. I was definitely not happy nor satisfied with the doctors. The only doctor and staff I was satisfied with were the ER doctor, aw well as the nurses. It will be a cold day in hell before I return to be hospitalized.E FOne star is too much. This place is absolutely horrific in every way. It’s grossly under staffed to the detriment of the patients and the staff. The patients cannot get proper medical attention when the floor has no staff and have to pull nurses off another floor just to start an IV. It’s not being managed at all and the supervision is none existent. The nurse make unilateral decisions inconsistent with doctors order to accommodate their own needs and abuse the patients who are alone. One nurse had to be restrained and removed from the room for throwing the F bomb at the patient. The cleaning person was told to fill in for the nurse. This place needs to be shut downMark Posey⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was seen soon as I entered the doors. Very friendly staff as always and the Dr. on staff was great. This is my go-to Hospital.Rena Simone⭐️⭐️⭐️My RN Lisa was super friendly and nice. My doctor, seems like a hispanic woman wasn’t so friendly. She never even introduced herself to me.True Allure Fashion⭐️⭐️I am absolutely disappointed I went to ER for certain situation and I had to wait at least hr in waiting room . Then I found out from registration my ins is inactive . Now since that was the case I believe I got denied of treatment or additional services. I was waiting for nurse And doctor for about 3-4hrs for treatment. I had to ask for pain med for cramps In my abdomen. Then I had to ask to leave that’s when I got discharged papers. Horrible service.BRENDA HALE⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWonderful hospital and great people working inside. Cared for our families every need.Gail CorbmanMy unwanted stay at University Hospital was one of the worst experiences of my life. Except for a couple of kind nurses, most of the nurses were slow, uncaring, poor listeners, and incompetent. My room was mostly dirty for a week and my extreme kidney pain was sometimes ignored. There is no excuse for this lack of empathy. I hope not to return to this hospital.Nicole⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI brought my uncle to the ER this morning and it was nice to see nurses and doctors who care about doing their jobs with compassion for the patients. Thank you Nurse John for treating my uncle with such care.Virginia Barcelo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThank you staff at University Hospital. We we’re there earlier for a pediatric injury. The staff answered my daughter’s questions respectfully and fully. The atmosphere was calm and supportive. She also loves her bear and he’s become her new companion. Best of all we were in and out in under two hours. Thank you again!Q WilliamsRickie RN and the staff refused to see me while having chest pain. They left me at the reception desk unattended for 20mins without treatment, asked to speak to a supervisor and was denied multiple times. They denied checking my blood pressure never go to this hospital it sucksJay Leezy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was a patient there in room 317B.. From intake to dishcharge I was teated like I was the only client. Rooms were clean.. Staff is super friendly, and when you ring the nurse they come right away. Betty the nurse and Fabion a staff member are in the right job. Food is good and the Doctors actually LISTEN to your concerns. If I ever need a hospital I’m coming back!MaryPat BarbiniHorrible horrible hospital, shame on The both Dr. Arguella’s for sending my husband home sick , they know his critical health backround but still sent him home, its happened many times before , I understand that insurance companies want to throw u out but the doctors are your back bome and should fight for your health rights , I am beyond sickened !!Andrea Shaw⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI got the treatment I needed and was in/out in 90 minutes! The prescribed Rx worked and I’m good as new! Thank you University Hospital ED Team!Daimy FleitesI have had my mother two days ago in this hospital with sclereodermi. He has a very inflamed finger with a great infection which they have only treated with antibiotics and even all day waiting for a doctor without being able to eat anything or drink water because the doctor was supposed to come to see if he had to have surgery and it turns out that at 5 In the afternoon she is told that she can eat because the famous doctor does not come and that the doctor’s assistant will assist her. in short, it has been two days since my mother was admitted without solving the initial problem for which she went to the hospital. In conclusion, the only thing they do is keep you as long as possible for consumption to the insurance and very bad service to the patient. In addition to the hospital has very poor hygiene. very disappointed. I have finally decided to take my mother this afternoon to a decent hospital to really help her with her problem and I plan to go where and how to fight for the medical bill of this hospital. It doesn’t matter how far you have to go with the purpose of improving the service and taking more into account the patient’s health, which is what should matter and not keep it for days to collect the insurance without giving it a solutionGlenda Walters⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEveryone was very professional and very friendly. The waiting time has cut down a lot compared to past years. Thank all of you for your service. Karen Weinstock⭐️⭐️I was kept waiting a very long time. I was told that a stat case from the ED had to be done. I had an appointment. I think I waited about one hour. Also the tech was very kind but she scared me unnecessarily. My sister has breast cancer. I was there to follow up on an abnormal mammogram. The tech kept pausing and asking,”Do you feel anything there?” Not the question to ask three times in three areas. Scary.Ed Torres⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Dad went to the emergency to address a Kidney issue. His care was excellent. He was discharged a few days later. The support I received from Nancy and Alissa was world class. The found resources and they helped arrange the transition back home much smoother. In a word they were awesome. Thank you, Sincerely, EdKrystyn Brooks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat staff that exhibits professional medical care & compassion the moment you arrive Santa Bracero⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was today in outpatient the staff is really nice and helpful thank you very much and thanks to Dr Robinson Willis Hale21⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGood doctors, no long wait, clean.Cristina ContrerasTook my son few days ago, he wasn’t feeling good. Waited at the er for 4hrs With my son 5 yrs old and my daughter 3yrs old. Mind y’all with no bed. 4hrs seating on a chair so uncomfortable. They did the nose flu swap what ever u called it. They took too lab and they took forever just too tell me they had too re-do it and I had too wait few more mins. Worst service ever. Glad my son is ok thanks too me for giving him meds and stuff. Worst ER never again. Honestly they’re either racist or something. Giving me bad vibes and look cause my kids was being lil loud and jumping. Oh well should’ve gave us a bed with tv and they would’ve been still. Def not a hospital for kids.Aileen DankoHORRIBLE worst doctors ever did not help or treat in anyway. Did not take time to hear or listen.Suzanne Holman-Harber⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent experience from preparation for surgery to post op , everyone was caring and considerate. Rate 10 stars!Jennifer Rodriguez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had to have an imaging procedure completed. I was in and out. Staff was very helpful and friendly.BmcbucketzWorst experience ever.. my brother waited 14 hours to finally see a doctor. And dragged out his time there so they can get paid. Also the nurses wouldn’t let my girlfriend use the bathroom in the room. Her reasoning was people pee all over the floor. My girlfriend is not 12 she’s 22. Every time we called the nurse to the room. Nobody came, the kitchen phone rings and rings NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!Ralph Lovaglio⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat service. Staff was amazing. Thank you!Allan Miller⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is Esther Miller my husband is Barry Miller he was a patient in the hospital last week. He received very good and quick service after coming to the hospital . But, this not AllanMillerRemy Indiana⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWonderful staff, nurses treat you like family.Bartholomew GangWorst Hospital EVER ‼ I was 5 weeks pregnant (first time mom) I was excited to see the ultrasound and I was going to record the ultrasound to tell my parents they were grandparents and the ultrasound tech named DEBBIE (African American woman) told me I couldn’t record when everytime I come to the hospital I always record, very unprofessional people I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL FOR NOONE‼Graciela Olvera⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI bring my husband to ER All the Staff for this Hospital are Great Helpfully and CaringFred Mercier⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLove that Hospital and the hospitality of the nurses and doctors.MARIAN WILLIAMS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️When I arrived (8:00 am), no one to registrar me or check me. Awaited a half an hour. Once I was finally checked in things were great. Staff in Radiology were great, were very courteous and professional.STUART MEYER⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mother was brought to the ED from her rehab facility with possible hip problems. Her physician , Dr Reddy and nurse Lisa were beyond excellent. As well as all of the other ED staff . Thankfully her hip is ok. but they possibly found the root cause to her pain and gait problem. Thankful for everyone’s help and expertise.Rebecca BrownWorst experience ever!! My mother was here the Dr Gajray didn’t return calls or call the daughter when she requested. The nurses didn’t tell me what test were being done. Also when I was told by mother test were done no one wanted to say results were. My mother is deaf the Dr or nurses didn’t want to write to her to explain anything. She was released with a folly bag and the family was not told or showed how to empty the bag. I was told they would send a nurse from a company out to care for the bag. The hospital didn’t follow up with the company and no one has called to come out for the bag. Someone from the hospital needs to follow up with me for further problems we had. Terrible experience very disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend this hospital to any one. Some of the nurses didn’t even realize my mother was paralyzed from the neck down until I told them even though I was told it was in her notesLora Miyares⭐️⭐️Only have one person to register you. Time consuming , then has to go get paperwork, then escort you to destination. Really?? One person for this???? This must be HCA……Robin KleinmanOn a recent visit to the emergency room, (6/2/19), I came in with a fever and severe headache. First of all, I’ve never seen a hospital where the concierge desk is out in the open and everyone in the waiting room can hear your story…very unprofessional. I was seen by a P.A. Carrie Eldridge who was not very compassionate and right away, without examining me said I had the flu and it was too late to do anything for it. If my husband was not in the room to mention my blood sugar, they would have never tested it. My blood sugar was very high and I was given insulin and saline through an IV. My blood sugar was still high and they released me with no medicine to follow up with and no results from the blood work or urine sample. On the discharge summary they left the blood glucose level number off and basically told me that I was free to go. I have never encountered such unprofessionalism in any other establishment. When I saw my primary Doctor on 6/6/19, she stated that I was not treated well in the ER. This is the last time I will be visiting this hospital.Norton Blumberg⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMike and nurse Barbara excellent.Ray Garcia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff was excellent, very professional and showed concern. All the doctors and nurses made my stay comfortable and kept me well informed by explaining treatment and medications.Stephen Jones III would never go to this hospital ever again it was the worst care of ever had if there wasn’t if I could put no stars on there I would Doctors don’t listen nurses don’t come to you worst experience I’ve ever had in a hospitalLew Kovit at SOUNDS GOOD⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff was courteous and professional. They showed concern and promised they’d relieve my pain. Patient flow was overcrowded. The doctors and nurses kept me comfortable and informed. They explained their method of treatment and medications they intended to treat my condition (neuropathy). Treating doctors also kept me informed of their plan for treatment and the medications to be used to relieve my pain. I was released only after my condition improved enough to do so. Doctors also kept me informed of all medications intended to be used and how they would ease my pain.james esauWent in with severe chest pains and was made to wait. Not only was I made to wait, while clutching my chest, was here for over 24 hours without seeing a doctor. Not only did I not get the decency of seeing a doctor, but was not diagnosed and they tried to discharge me from the hospital without any information.T.Monica⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOmg the 5th floor staff is AMAZING!!! when I tell you they are attentive, understanding, and just the bomb.. my treatment/care/experience was as comfortable as it could be!! Thank you so muchDaniel GinesTook my wife to emergency very unprofessional nurce I think she was Racial never going back I Prefer to go to another hospitalBlair HickeyI came in with severe abdominal pains that turned out to be a kidney stone. I was advised to stay overnight and get iv therapy. It is 7pm and I have had no iv since 2 pm. I keep asking and they keep saying they will come back.Neal StantonWe had a bad experience with my 88 year old father. He actually missed a procedure because the nurse did not prep him the night before and in the morning he had not been changed . Spent an extra day in that hospital and did not get to eat for two days. When i called to voice my concern the staff told my father that I called. Why would they do that and appears to be inappropriate. I couldn’t even begin to amagima how that conversation and what was the point. I actually contacted the hospital the day after his discharge to speak to management and after a few minutes she had a emergency and got my number to call me back , that didn’t happen. To be fair he was in University for a stroke about a year ago and we had a good experience.Christine HarrisThis is the worst hospital ever. I went here 2 times within a month and these crooks not only took my money after lying to me about me meeting my deductible but the first time I was there left ne sitting in my own vomit for over 2 gours when the nurse witnessed me vomitiming and left the room and told no one. THEY ALSO OVERLOOKED A DIAGNOSIS of Gaberaparesis ThAT I HAD TO COME BACK a WEEKS LATER TO HAVE DIAGNOSED. They also lost my glasses and stated they were not responsible when I never left my bed due to a broken ankle. If I could give them a vomit face instead of a star. I would. When I tried to contact billing to inform them of there mistake they were unhelpful and wasted 2 hrs of my time. This hospital is a piece of .jovaughnc9⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIt was unfortunate that I needed to go to the hospital however choosing University Hospitals ER was the best decision I could have made. In an era where the quality of customer service is diminshing, I still value the impact great customer service can have on an individual experience. The services that I received at University Hospital on Tamarac was beyond exceptional and exceeded all expectations. I was seen in a timely fashion, spoken to with care, concern, and compassion. At each level of care between intake, to xrays, to the period in between before discharge I had a 5-star experience. I felt as if I was personally being catered too despite the hectic flow of the surrounding environment. The staff at University really impressed and turned a really bad day into an upbeat and memorable one. I would recommend that people who are not feeling there best or experiencing good circumstances
