Before you go to University of Maryland Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Glen Burnie emergency room think.
J MWorst hospital ER in the world. Staff sits around discussing their personal lives, flirting with the paramedics, and they had patients who clearly needed medical assistance waiting unnecessarily for over 3hrs. Additionally, they were prioritizing caucasians over ethnic groups. The management of the ER should do a better job in managing the staff. Unfortunately, this place doesn’t deserve even a 1 star rating.Janette MurelThis was the WORSE I mean WORSE hospital visit I’ve ever experienced in my entire life! Unprofessional nurses, doctors, emts. Discussing there personal lives break ups while drawing blood from my arm. Discussing Social media statics while I’m in excruciating pain. The Nurse with the head band on her head That was on duty Saturday 25th 2020 at 2am entering the waiting room calling patients names was very rude. Yelled at me bcus I didn’t want her to take my wheelchair away from me. She’s was very disrespectful and had a really bad attitude. Everyone in the waiting room was in shock of this awful treatment when coming to a hospital for help. I arrived by ambulance 1230am. Didn’t get seen until 4am. Unbelievable! I wouldnt advise ANYONE to go to this hospital for any reason unless you wanna get treated like dirt.Gabriel HarrymanBoth my big toe were greenish blue. They weren’t that way 2hours earlier. They said go get a foot doctor.Theresa CusterWish I would have driven to Annapolis got here about 715 its now midnight.sono 2 hours ago they said results will be about 30 minutes.wish ritetime had more equipment. This should be a crime!!Caroline Vogel⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Everyone I interacted with in the ER was very kind and professional. I spent about 3 hours there from check in to release which is not bad for an ER visit. This is a very busy ER and they seem understaffed which likely contributed to the wait. I removed one star because the hospital is quite dirty. The pillow on the stretcher had a terrible stain covering most of the pillow and none of the surfaces in my room had been sanitized.Trisha WatkinsIf I could give zero stars I would. This is the most unprofessional unsanitary emergency room I’ve been in. Currently sitting in the ER waiting to be seen. Went through getting my vitals and having an i.v. put in 2 hours ago, sent back to sit in the waiting room… okay no big deal, until a guy came in vomiting. There is a full puke bag laying on the floor spilling vomit everywhere. Several patients waiting to be seen, including myself have alerted the registration staff and er security about it – who are to busy discussing their personal lives to even block off the area so none steps in it. They get attitudes when we say something and ask us to just go sit back down, they’re aware and it’ll be handled. The guy vomited over 30 minutes ago and has been put in a room but the puke puddle is still here. Hopefully I don’t get more sick having chosen to come to this place.Sue KThe last time i was at this ER for severe breathing problems, i waited 9 hours and had to beg for a breathing treatment. M8ghtxas well just die at home.Kylie MustoEvery single time I’ve been here we’ve waited for atleast two hours to get seen. The wait time is absolutely ridiculous and no one is helpful.Melinda LaraI have never been to a ER waited more that 4 hours without even being seen… sitting in pain and noome evencheck on people. I could of stayed home for all this in pain sitting on a waiting room in the back !!! The nurse was annoyed and bothered that my husband inquired about my health and if I was getting a roomShaneka Dean⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came to the hospital an i was called to the front for registration an a few mins after that i was called to be seen. Service went quick no long waits. My doctor an nurses were amazing in solving my issues. They cared for me gentle an quick. The pics are before an after pics. I had a cyst that that to be drained under my arm pit. An stuffed with packing . return in two days to unpack. Best hospital visit I’ve had in a long time for sure. Thanks to the amazing staff an doctors. This hospital is definitely changing for the good.Eileen PMZero stars if possible. Worst emergency room I have visited! Most staff are rude! If your situation is not a matter of life or death, STAY AWAY FROM HERE!Rachel HintonIf I could give this place zero stars, I would!! I have been sitting in the waiting room for ER for 12 hours now!! I just went to check on wait time and was told by the receptionist that I was not even in the system and had been “discharged” over an hour ago! She called the charge nurse and the charge nurse said that someone called my name 3 times, which is a lie as I was in the waiting room the entire time! The receptionist did vouch for me and told the charge nurse that I had in fact been waiting there and no one called for me. If I was not in such severe pain and waiting on test results, I would have left hours ago. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!Clis GallardoI came in at 10:45pm and it is now 4:30am and I still haven’t been seen. I wouldn’t have come in if I didn’t think I needed to. I’m not the type of person who goes to the doctor while I’m sick, let alone the Emergency Room. I tried asking how much longer it might be and I was told I was low priority because that’s how the nurse triaged me. I mean, really? That’s what you’re going to tell a patient who’s been waiting for 5 hours?!? Meanwhile they’ve called several patients multiple times who are clearly no longer here because they most likely got sick of waiting. Everyone on staff here tonight has been incredibly rude and unhelpful.Jada Vitali⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAlthough there are nothing but negative reviews on here, my experience was pleasant and everyone was very nice and caring. I came in with level 10 pain, my ear and entire face and neck was in pain due to severe ear infection. I had black spots of fungus growing inside my ear and the exterior was red and swollen. The doctor said this was the worst ear infection he had ever seen and quickly prescribed heavy medication to ease my pain as well as stronger antibiotics. One shot and a few pills later I was feeling so much better within seconds. I couldn’t have been more thankful as I had been suffering all day with pain and the Urgent Care facility I had visited earlier that day prescribed me with weak pain meds.Ajah LeeZERO STARS!! The wait time is HORRIBLE, almost ALL nurses have bad attitudes! When people are sick they want to AT LEAST see friendly faces! Not some mean, hateful expressions followed by nasty words! They need all new staff or just shut down completely if Administration or the ER DIRECTOR can’t get their employees together! Myself nor my family members will NEVER return here! And I’m glad I checked in on FACEBOOK to let everyone know how horrible our experience was! Shame on your facility for obviously glorifying your horrible employees attitudes and demeanor!K TI normally don’t write reviews but this is worth letting you know. It is the worse hospital in the State of Maryland. ER wait time atleast 10hours. Go somewhere else, inhumane.George HHad a family member admitted here, his wife stayed the night with him. While she slept someone went through her purse and stole all her cash out of it. She’s suspecting the night shift housekeeping from 8/1/2017 but she was asleep and it could have been anyone. They may have changed their name but still hold on to the old North Arundle Hospital issues and mentality, absolutely no one to call and make a complaint or report it to.jimmy arnoldIn the waiting room for 5+hours before seen by a doctorPeter KoufopoulosHorribly managed. Lots of apologies, little action. 5 hr. wait for extreme vomiting and severe dehydration. Couldn’t be smart enough to provide IV fluids while waiting. After 2 hrs. asked again to ER nurse who was announcing all wait times were going to be extended 3 more hrs. She assured me we would see a tech with fluids, no-one showed up. I guess if it’s not happening to you or your family it just doesn’t matter.Herb RiberaTheir triage system sucks with inept medical staff who have poor judgement on triage. Excessive wait times regardless of ailment. My wife with a pain score of 9 had to wait 3 hours for pain relief. This hospital has lost my patronage and respect.Arthur CrownoverWife is having chest pains so we rushed over here. They immediately triaged her and put an IV tube in her just in case they needed to put an iv bag or take blood… then sent us to the waiting room to rot in the beetlejuice waiting room limbo. That was 5 hours ago. All she wants now is to have the iv removed so we can get the hell out of here and go to someone who cares. Never again will I set foot in this place.Kareem ShawWorst wait I’ve ever had in an ER. Folks are using this place as PMC so wait times just get worse. Few medical services in the area and hospital seems understaffed.Motion jewlI have always had a bad experience with this hospitalDanielle JadeDO NOT COME HERE!! IN SEVERE PAIN AND AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE WHO CAME IN AFTER ME HAVE BEEN SEEN ALREADY. 2 OF THEM WALKED IN WITH SMILES AND I AM SITTING HERE CRYING IN PAIN. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT THE HELL DOWN! TRASH HOSPITAL. GO ELSE WHERE!Chan CI’ve never met a hospital that receives someone by ambulance (obviously an emergency) and sticks them in the waiting room for 4 hours.. going on 5. Slow and lacks in customer service.Antonio Goodwin4 hrs really don’t go there if you in pain just don’t go there go some where else need to shut it this place downChristopherUnorganized, undermanned and wait times extremely long especially for the ER
