Vista Medical Center Reviews

Before you go to Vista Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Lindenhurst emergency room think.

Shawna Pomeroy Terrible terrible place.. Do not come here would give 0 stars if I could. Calvin Terrell is a awful doctor. I was seen for a UTI and was not getting better so I came back with worse symptoms. And he tried to push a unnecessary spinal tap on me… Still feeling awful so I went to a different hospital and the medication I was prescribed I am resistant too. And also CT SCAN showed abnormalities with my kidneys. If I where to not saw a different Dr. Who knows what would of happen!!!! DONT COME HEREAshley Benson This was the worst visit to a hospital I had ever had. I saw Dr. Terrell and he was passive aggressive, not caring AT ALL. He told me it’s a waste of time to get an X-ray on my leg because he’s opinion is that he thinks nothing is wrong but he said there’s a possibility of a blood clot then he says but it might not be so your choice if you wanna wait an hour. I understand that they have busy lives but I was mistreated and not cares for not the slightest. A crabby old doctor, that’s all he was no care for anyone I don’t understand why anyone would give this place any stars. Please don’t waste your time here!William Brewster⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI recently had a family member treated by Dr. Calvin Terrel and she had nothing but incredible things to say about Dr. Terell. His bedside manners were exceptional and he was so informative and caring! He sat in the room, which I have never seen a doctor do. Also, the nurse, Charlie, was awesome. Great experience overall.Jodi Paquet⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent there with my daughter. Dr. Was amazing wish he was private. The nurses and E.M.T”s were great! I think people who complain about the wait it’s an emergency room their are other people there also.Ben Dubs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI really dont see why everyone is speaking so poorly of this place. Everytime ive been here its been a quick visit and they’ve done a good job patching me up.Jaasiel bernal⭐️⭐️2 hour wait to see the doctor for 5 mins. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the service was very friendly.Kendra Norman We were sent here by urgent care to get an mri done STAT. Went to the er first where they were very quick to turn us out the door because we didn’t have the right paperwork. They told us my boyfriend could be admitted to the er and reevaluated by their doctor, but besides that they couldn’t help us. They did not ask any questions, just quickly told us no. This is after I spent 10 minutes wheeling my boyfriend in from the car on a wheel chair. After I went back to the car and got the rest of the paperwork, they proceeded to tell us we had to go to the front office where they could do the mri because they didn’t have the staff available for one. I had to ask twice if they could just wheel my bf to the front because he CANNOT WALK. Hence the wheelchair. Plus, there were no patients in the waiting room. They finally wheeled my bf to the front (took less than a minute). I drove to the front. The woman at the front desk was sweet, signed us in finally and asked for us to sit in the waiting room after asking the appropriate questions (i.e., what are you here for, is the mri stat). The second woman who came told us the one person who could do an mri was with a patient and may be with them for hours. So we could go to the hospital. When we asked about other options, the woman said “well we could call in the on-call tech but that could take awhile too” which we understand. However, the woman gave us so much attitude for wanting to have the on-call tech to come in to do the mri. Remind you, my boyfriend cannot walk. This place is filled with what seems like a lot of people not wanting to do their jobs. This is the first review I have ever left on any place because I have never been so frustrated with staff as a whole. I am a very understanding person, however they way the staff is treating us like we are not important and like they do not want to help my boyfriend is overwhelming.Nicole Farrell I took my daughter there for evaluation for a concussion. The doctor cleared her to go back to school the next day with no restrictions and said to follow up with our pediatrician in a week. When we went to the pediatrician he informed me that is not how concussions are supposed to be handled. My daughter was still having headaches and feeling dizzy in school. She should have been home until those symptoms subsided. She ended up being out of school the entire next week. I would never come here again.Samantha Misch Doesn’t even deserve a star. Terrible place. Wait is way to long, you can hear everyone gossiping while you wait and they gave a wrong diagnoses.Elle Boomfield⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’m not sure if the other reviews were of recent visits, my visit was Saturday July 28 (2018) I went in in the early morning, I made it to the desk for check in before I started crying in searing pain. The lady at the check in desk was amazing, I handed her my insurance card and drivers license, she asked me very few questions probably assuming talking was challenging, which it was very challenging, she had me sign the forms for treatment and said the nurse be right up to get me. The nurse came upwithin two minutes, now, again I was in major pain, crying uncontrollably, vomiting in pain, and just a total hot mess, nurse Kelly and her team got me hooked up to an IV, started basic exams, got the doctor, and managed/ monitored my pain. They called my mom for me, got me ice packs, they were an amazing group. I was even impressed with the doctor, he apparently works there once a month but is mainly a Loyola doctor. So impressed I got a Loyola doctor and didn’t have to drive to the Loyola campus.Danielle Santana The absolute worst place to go for care. You wait for hours, the staff is unfriendly, yhe wait tine is insane and there are no doctors on site. This is not emergency care, drive to a hospital or call 911, I waited for 3 hours in the lobby I watched a small little girl of maybe 5 come in throwing up and running a fever and a teenage boy with a head laceration sit there for over an hour, i decided they were worse off than me and decided to leave. Couldn’t in good conscience go before them.Eric Flores⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe staff was kind, even had a laugh with my drunk friend. The nurses took us into one of the rooms immediately after arriving to the emergency room. Plus, they have warm blankets. They got them.Victoria Dailey⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was here about a week ago now for a tooth infection. I have no insurance since I lost my job and my teeth are in terrible condition due to that as well as circumstances beyond my control. The staff here was truly excellent about EVERYTHING. They didn’t make me feel like a loser for not having insurance or for the horrible condition of my teeth, they were also genuinely kind and gave me a list of dentists that either accept Medicaid or will charge on a sliding scale. You can’t find that by calling 1-800-DENTIST (trust me, I’ve tried)! They had me in and out within 45 minutes and gave me information about their financial assistance programs. I haven’t been treated this kindly at any medical facility (aside from my GP who I’ve had for 15 years) since losing my insurance. I will recommend this place as often as I can! And I’m sorry for those that have had bad experiences here, I know exactly what that’s like and it really sucks but that was definitely not my experience here, mine was truly a good one.Vicki LeGrand This place is positively dangerous. I had a freak in home accident that resulted in a deep gash/cut in my leg. I was bleeding profusely but was with help able to control it. Went immediately to emergency and wrapped in a blood soaked towel told reception I was not sure bleeding was controlled. Signed me in and sent me to corner to wait…no one even looked at the wound to be sure I wasnt in any danger. Left after 1 hour of waiting ?????? Went elsewhere for 16 stitches and was treated IMMEDIATELY.Greg Blackburn If I could give 0 Stars I would. Went in with my mother with severe kidney stone pain that was a 10 out of 10, almost ready to pass out. When we got there, there was no people in the waiting room and a wait time of 16 minutes. When checked in we were told to give a name and sit down and that the nurse will come out and get you when they are ready. So we waited and waited and waited. After about an hour of waiting, we went to ask how long and got a response of “Not sure, its a sick kind of day”…So we sat and waiting some more. After 2 and a half hours of waiting in excruciating pain, we decided to leave and go somewhere else. They need to take down their 30 Minute ER wait time guarantee if they cant hold true to it. Follow up will be made with the Director of the ER. Horrible experience. Will never go back.Jeremy D Went in because i got rear ended and my neck and back started hurting. Got in my room, they took my vitals then waited in my room for 2 hours. When I asked for an update I was told the doctor is too busy. No tests or anything. So I just walked out. Sad for a place that advertises little to no wait times or is that what they want you to think? Never even got to meet the doctor on duty. I won’t be returning here and I hope I can help and save people from wasting their time.M Jovanovic Place of horror. I brought my son here when he was 4 for a very high fever, they decided to give him a shot of antibiotic through his thigh! I’ve never heard him or another child scream from pain like that. His doctor next day said it was absolutely unnecessary and unethical. Fast forward 3 years and he has to go to ER again. We get there and 4 HOURS later I go in the lobby and ask what’s going on, they tell me we called the doctor, he’s on his way. There was no doctor on duty! Final straw was when I had chest pain and went there (we live 5 min away) and takes them an hour to do EKG and this Indian doctor comes in and starts circling me without saying anything and says you need an x-ray. FOR CHEST PAIN? Unbelievable.Emilia Molina Don’t go here unless your not mobile. These doctors and nurses hate their job.. They don’t even record prescriptions they give you on your chart.. They spin you to come to their facility again and again…. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Doctors look like clucks. They need better standards…Ronnie Annus This place needs to lose their ER license. I went in with shortness of breath and chest pain and the person at the front desk was more concerned with paperwork so they have someone to bill than my well being. After 15 minutes, I started to have blurred vision and worse chest pain and I told her. She looked annoyed and forcefully told someone. Another 10 minutes and as I started to black out, I dialed 911. The operator confirmed twice I was calling from ER, she couldn’t believe it. They didn’t flinch as I grasped for air and talked to 911 operator. Fast forward and long story short, I learned later that they’re no more than a urgent care that has ambulance vehicle on site to take you to real hospital ER if needed. They have 8 beds with two nurses and one tech on staff. THAT’S IT. If you need a doctor, they call one to come. It’s quite terryfing when you think about it. They’re not even Level 4 trauma. From talking to a paramedic, he told me they aren’t an ER at all and they can’t take patients there. Ambulance took 30 minutes to stabilize me and no one from inside checked at all if I was OK. I’m not exaggerating when I say that if you can’t get to a real hospital (Condell, Lake Forest), just call 911. I never thought it would come to calling 911 from “ER”. Go here only if you have a death wish.Robert Weichmann This place sucks. Waited over 2 hours when the sign said 00 minutes with zero people in the waiting room. Dr. Seemed annoyed and couldn’t give us an answer, just referred us to a dermatologist. They left my son propped up on the bed at midnight uncomfortable. Had to go find someone to lay the bed flat so he could sleep. I then went to find someone 2 hours later, they said I was next. Doc came in and rushed through some questions, he told us to see a dermatologist, but the nurse came In after and told us to see his pediatrician! This place is a circus. Hope this helps, wish I would have read the reviews prior.Joyce Tangney Son cut his hand and has been sitting here for two hours waiting, meanwhile 4 other people that came in before us have walked out due to the lack of care , also waiting 3-4hours.This hospital is Ridiculous . What a joke. Another cook county hospital with the same values.Brittany Deisenroth Worst Experience ever! Do not waste your time or money going there…. The FEMALE DR. WAS THE BIGGEST JOKE OF ALL! You are better off not leaving your house…that Dr. is worthless!Avip Stay away, I am worried that this place is causing more problem than you already have and authorities are doing nothing about it. Please drive to advocate or lake forest if you really need medical attentionAllie Horwitz Horrrible ! Drive to the next hospital any other place then here. The acute care center in gurnee is better then this place. Waited almost 3 hours and I was the only person there. No one came to check on us. No one came to offer us anything. Er doctor was a joke. Rude and didn’t seem to care that we were there. Gave me paperwork for my daughter to excuse her from gym with no dates marked on it. Then was referred to an bone sr for a sprain ? Wait what ?!?!Hunter Clark Have been waiting 2 hours to see a doctor, at around the 1 hour point they put us in a hallway and we still haven’t seen a doctor. Long wait times seem to be the standard.Mary Ward⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Little or no wait. Good place for minor aches and pain.C Jenkins If you value your health or your families health, DO NOT GO HERE, or any vista hospital for that matter… Staff is very unprofessional, very inconsiderate, very negligent, and just not a place for good healthcare…I had chest pain and they gave me a wrist bands and discharged me…I ended up at northwestern where I ended up needing surgery which I was thankful for cause I definitely wouldn’t have wanted vista touching me…tried to report this to the appropriate people but they just looked out for the stupidity and neglect of these employees…something needs to be done about these type of people.Alex B Went to this ER for swollen feet & severe foot pain. It was apparent on the faces of the staff that they’re not happy with the work environment there. It’s even more apparent in their approach to patients. You get the feeling that they’re annoyed that you’re there, and that they wish you would just leave. This place has no qualms about leaving you in the examining room unattended and with no staff checking in with you for hours at a time. When I saw the ER doctor, I saw why the staff seemed so miserable. His accent was so bad that I really didn’t understand most of what he said. I wasn’t the only one. I saw a nurse struggling to understand him as she walked next to him taking his report for the coming shift change. She kept guessing at what he was saying, and he would tell her “No”, then repeat the same thing with the same bad accent. It seems likely that miscommunication either has or definitely will lead to some mistakes here. Back to my experience with the ER doctor. He was quick to dismiss the input from me that he solicited when he asked why I was there, and was certainly not listening to my answers to his questions considering that he asked the same questions “any fever or pain anywhere else?” 4 times! He did this with several of his questions. He did ask about mine and my family medical history, moquito bites, etc but he proved earlier that he’s not the kind to listen too long or at all, so I didn’t feel inclined to go into too much detail with him. After initially examining me, he mumbled something that sounded like “I go get doctor”, which left me wondering who he was. He had a coat on with Dr. on the name tag, but he really didn’t strike me as a doctor. I seriously wondered if he had used fake credentials to get the job. 2 hours later, a tech came in to draw my blood, and told me that the doctor would review my blood work, then they would give me a dose of “medicine” via IV. The “medicine” was actually a painkiller, not medicine. An hour or so later, the doctor comes back, looks at my feet and says “look like they getting better, no?” “No, they’re not getting better. You’ve not done anything, except a blood test.” “No the medicine we give you looks like it working.” “What medicine, nobody gave me any medicine, just a blood test.” He left, and about 45 minutes later, I received the “medicine” which of course just masked the pain but cured nothing. In the end, after a total of 6 hours, the doctor had no clue what was wrong with me, but despite that saw fit to prescribe antibiotics and painkillers. Not once was I ever asked if I’ve had a history of drug addiction, which should be a required question before prescribing addictive drugs. In the end, I left with 2 prescriptions, a referral that I didn’t trust coming from this quack, and no idea what was wrong with me, and no desire to endure such an experience again. When people complain of doctors just being drug pushers for pharmaceutical companies, this particular doctor fits that mold to a tee.Tanzie Bullard Went in yesterday for possible hernia leaking. They just sent me home and sd I didn’t have a veteran or in pain. Called my previous surgion and they asked me to come in ASAPIron Ox This is for my father, he is a heart patient and was one when he went in. Told them how he was feeling and while they tested for pneumonia they did nothing to check his heart. Ya know something you should do on a person with an existing heart problem. Which left him in pain and ending up needing a triple bypass which did not help. He has roughly four years left thanks to the incompetence of these hacks.Jane Doe poor service and rude staff to be honestRic Calkins Doctor was in room less than 10 minutes to check my wife’s broken finger and we were charged $3,500.00 for physician services. This is why health care is so expensive. Never going back there. They are robbers.Ryan Madigan This place is so horrible. They cant do anything in a timely manner.Katherine Ziemann Been here 3.5 hours still waiting been in the exam room for a hour of our wait. Still waitingKevin Tuley Waiting room time on website is always off: two times we went it showed 15 min and 5 min. Today was 8 minutes and it took one hour and 53 minutes to get in…Smiley Glitter Worse place ever, long wait times, poor quality care. Go some where else.Brianna Davis Staff is inconsiderate, needed prescription refill for reoccurring symptoms and was told no.Rebekka Bubenheimer Horrible my son got bite by a dog and we have yet to wait for the doctor we have been sitting here since 6:45pm it’s almost 9pm they have not looked at his wound or even cleaned it or given him any shots at all this is crazy
