Before you go to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Winston-Salem emergency room think.
Wes HylemonSpent 7 hours waiting for my brother to get seen after he was in a car accident!! Do not go there. We ended up leaving and going to Novant in Clemmons, they were amazing g and we were in and out in 90 minutes.Kathy Peak⭐️⭐️⭐️I could not believe how nasty this department is. Every room we went in to was so sorry I was afraid to touch anything. Some of the staff was really nice and ready to help. But there was a couple of nurses that acted like they hated being there.Lucas Fritts⭐️⭐️I agree with the lady who says that this place is nasty although my only contribution to that statement is; the staff are also NASTY. For their character personalities and the way they express how little they care for the patients they’re trying to heal. ImoBruce DossMost disorganized hospital I have ever seen. I went in for chest pains and dizziness and more worried about me signing forms than getting an EKG and then shipped me right back out to the waiting area. I finally had enough of the waiting in the ER after never even being seen by a doctor 2 hours later that I walked up to check in and asked if the could cut off my bands and they never even checked to see if there was an emergency with my health. I sure hope they try to charge me for anything because I happen to have a doctors appointment set already and if there is any permanent damage with my health I am going straight to the lawyers office. I swear I don’t even think there was a doctor on duty tonight because there didn’t seem to be any urgency with them seeing anyone there.Rose BensonI understand that ER’s have a range of emergency levels, from life threatening to least threatening. This is understandable by all if they are kept abreast of what is transpiring. Dumping a patient in the waiting room for hours upon hours and not keeping them informed of what is going on is major cruelty. It’s not just unprofessional and tacky, it is cruel. Deciding on a visit to an ER is a difficult decision to make if one is not in the throes of death, yet advised by a PCP or in need of comprehensive care. To go to these often unclean, chaotic, and usually disorganized sites is painful. To be thrown into a waiting area without any updates on how long or why one is being ignored is traumatic. COMMUNICATION is essential. Some kind of estimate of the time a patient will be waiting is critical. Just have respect for the people seeking your care. Respect their humanity. Have some compassion! You Guys at Wake Forest have a lot to learn and a long way to go to reach standards established by more humane ER departments.Edward PickertAbsolutely worst ER experience. Dirty, overcrowded, rude lack of care or concern. I would never set foot in this ER again. The hospital and other services may be wonderful the ER is a shame and black spot on record. The ER charge nurse and ER triage nurse were two of the rudest, least compassionate nurses I’ve ever met. You are a disgrace to to your profession. The filth in the ER area is horrible and there you are truly just a number not a personBrigette StoweBaptist already does not have a good name within the community and today’s experience really confirmed why. Aside from the extremely long 9 hour wait my mother had in the emergency department, she sat in the lobby with a blood pressure reading of 219/140. This is not only asinine but extremely dangerous as anything could have happened. To make matters worse the staff acted as if they didnt care, and gave no regard to the huge inconvenience. I am positive that we will NEVER allow Baptist to serve us again and hope that others do the same so that they do not experience something as horrible as we did.SR YoungPathetic patient care. Just pathetic.Annette KaneHave had to wait 18hrs, yes 18hrs, despite being taken by ambulance & ambulance personnel saying they wouldn’t put me out in ER waiting room, was passing out 18hr wait alone and had signs of being contagious to other patients, by the time I was seen I couldnt even make sense or talk to the Drs..my wallet was also stolen!!!! Was treated horribly. Also when I way nearly murdered they put me in a taxi home, but when have had to had a need for taxi was told by social service workers if I didn’t have my own $ for taxi (last visit few years ago wouldve cost me $150 they only paid them $25 to take me a long ways to Davie County. Was told not to come back if I had no way home. It is pitiful that they would risk my health over $25 to them!!!Mark ShoenfeltBrought in my wife for massive nausea & hot/cold sweats likely from another bout of kidney stones. Initial screening and signing financial responsibility all within 30 minutes. HOWEVER, 5 hours later she is still sitting in the waiting room with no treatment, not even anything for nausea. There is NO reason for poor treatment like this. If they cannot handle the patient load, they should recommend going to another emergency room.Wilton Kennedy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad an emergency with a family member on a busy Friday night – The place was packed, but staff, providers, triage, nurses were all professional, courteous and competent. I understand the wait, but they went out of their way to deliver great care – If you are having a true emergency in winston salem, this is the best place to be –TeeVee ATLBloggerMy son was airlifted on November 6, 2018. My God is an Awesome God. Joey is an Amazing man who LOVES WHAT HE DO AND CARES ABOUT PEOPLE!! My son suffered burns on his lower legs. Joey, if you’re reading this my God has Blessed you and will continue to Bless you to be a caring great man. My son loved you. So did we!! Unfortunately there was this nurse assistant who was very mean and grabbed my son’s womb while she was called I the room to assist with wiping my son. Her name is ANGIE!!! Angie is a black CNA and she assaulted my son while she attended to him because she got irritated with him not being able to turn over. Why would she reach for his legs and squeeze them when he just came out of burn surgery. She was the most evil woman ever!!! She also pushed his Dad out the way when he came back in the room because he heard his son screaming! My son was removed from the burn unit because of some Resident Nurse who demanded my son to move because I confronted her when I saw her. We live in Atlanta and unfortunately I was banned from the hospital and was told that they will protect the worker and not the patient. Angie if I ever wish anything on my worst enemy it would be every and anything I hope and wish that you experience someone having to take care of you and hurt you while they sit back and enjoy seeing your pain. May you REAP WHAT SOW!!!!Tripster WhipsterWait time is totally unacceptable and this should be addressed immediately. Their website says wait times is 0-30 minutes but more like 8 hours just to be seen. Ridiculous.Sarah WelchStaff was pleasant but the wait time was unacceptable. Overheard a nurse tell a patient they were understaffed on weekends until 3pm. Waited 5 hrs to be called back with only a few patients seen before me.Teresita WrightWe have been here almost three hours. Horrible service. But since the implementation of the ACA hospitals only render good service to emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes etc. They’re all the Same Garbage.g hatchI’ve waited in the “emergency” room for 7 hours and countingMelissa PattersonCame to emergency room by ems with chest pain. They sent me to triage. Now it has been 3 to 4 hours and I still have been seen. Just sitting here with pressure on my chest and a iv hook up in y armEvalee FosterMy mother in law was at wake forest emergency and it was a nasty facility. The doctors and nurses in the emergency department threw there used gloves on the floors when I mentioned it their response was that it was habit. How can spreading germs from person to person when you throw throw used gloves on the floor from another client that is not you. My mother in law ended up needing emergency surgery and I was scared for her for how nasty that hospital was I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to the emergency not even a pet should be in that filthTammy marshallNever again the wait is horrible nurses on staff are very rude!! Going to ForsythJeffery Eller⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery professional Betsy HinkleI “HOPE” that the nurses in the ER read the letter Jenna Hager Bush wrote to her Grandmother. Actually, I have been a nurse since 1980. Thank goodness for the 5 star care I received from Dr.Waters nurse. SCrystal HutchensMy husband was brought in by EMS they took him to triage and stuck him in a wheelchair slapped a c-collar on him and left him sitting there for 5 hours after a multi vehicle accident! He ended up with 2 fractures in his spine! Not what I would call a great trama Center at all!!Kelli Wingo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI brought my husband there 1-3-18 Dr Jeremiah was phenomenal with him, he treated him as if it was his brother. Everyone did their jobs swiftly and professionally.Zach SniderFive hours waiting means it’s not an emergency room just a room to waitGuadalupe Hernandezme and my boyfriend came to this emergency room and we literally checked in at 10:25pm, it was 2:00am and we were still waiting on the doctor to check him, we ended up leaving because we took forever in the waiting room it’s supposed to be an emergency department!Yara VelazquezTheir wait time is terrible, I waited 4 hours in the ER for them to attend me. The nurses show no interest or sympathy towards the patient. Please think twice before coming to the ER here!Brandon Holmes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI just left the emergency roomShuben PanandikarWe’re here at 10 pm.
