Before you go to Wesley Derby, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Derby emergency room think.
gena crowe⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedJust let the Derby Wesley ER and was treated by an amazing APRN Michael Katunzi. He was all the way around amazing. His bedside manor was A+ made me feel like I was in the right place even if it was just a bad migraine but never made me feel less for that reason. So kind a friendly and caring. I wish I would if gotten names from the nursing staff but they were amazing as well. Always in and out in a timely manor ans always treated with the utmost respect ans kindness3 Motivational Minutes With Lady V⭐️⭐️⭐️Nice staff, but felt cut off and kicked out when they didn’t find what they considered life threatening with my chest pain. Was told to see my PCM and take aspirin, that I prescribed mind you, and come back if needed, but they were polite about it…Ashley Wilson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedTook my father in on a Sunday because he was having some discoloration and pain in his leg. We were taken back and were seen almost immediately. The staff were all super friendly and efficient. They knew pretty quickly what the problem was but decided to do a couple of tests just to be sure it wasn’t something more serious. We were there for less than an hour and half for all of it. Definitely one of the better ER visits I’ve experienced.Ashlyn Kennedy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Nurse John Looks Like Triple H Or Auquaman Hes an Amazing Guy He Made Me Feel comfortable he was so funnyJackie BigleyTook my son in May. Gave insurance card at that time. Later I get a bill. I then call and give insurance information again. Get another bill. Speak to insurance company and spend too much time walking these people through their jobs. Now it’s gone to collections! Spend more time on the phone- hours. The radiology bill cleared with insurance, hospital bill has not been submitted correctly, physicians bill has been sent to collections!! We have insurance- AETNA. It’s pretty common! They are rude, lie and say things are resubmitted and then you find out nothing is resolved months later! How did radiology bill correctly and nothing else?? DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! It’s not worth the headache, especially for rushed and dismissive care. NEVER AGAIN. Oh, my issues are still unresolved and I’ve spent hours on the phone with these clowns. Incompetent to say the least.Tammy Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was at the ER on both Saturday morning and again Sunday evening. Both doctors that I had were very polite and helpful. All of the staff was nice and curtious. I was in and out with in less an hour both times. If I have to go back to the ER this is the place I will go hands down. A very good experience both times. I will recommend this place to everyone.Mark JonesDont go in the evening they are slow. Strep test for daughter a week ago in and out in 20 minutes. Her brothers test later the same week still here and hour and a half laterBobbie BusherTook my husband in last year. His neck suddenly swelled up. I would say a D- grade doctor came in ordered a CT Did the usual labs, came back in said well suck on a lemon drop…..OH you got a spot in your lung, might want to get that looked at. And walked out the door. That little hour long visit cost us over $3000.00!!! We’ve been double charged. Tried working on this bill with them! NOTHING!!! They will jack up your credit! Now we’re getting garnished !! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!Judy SheppardHusband took me to Derby ER for severe constipation and abdominal pain. Was left in a room to await results of CAT Scan (freezing) and didn’t see a soul until arrogant Doctor finally came in with results of scan (Diverticulitis). Zero compassion, Zero empathy, Zero ‘CARE’ from entire staff (exception being young lady who preformed Scan). NEVER AGAIN!DOOD J⭐️⭐️My spouse drove me here after hurting my back. It was very close by and we were the only people there other than staff. The nurse was very nice and seemed quite proficient. Had she been the only person we dealt with, this would probably be 5 stars. The Dr. was called in and his bedside manner was terrible. He acted like he wanted to be anywhere in the world but there. He offered no information, no help, spent a lot of time joking with another staff member rather than completing paperwork. After he was out of earshot, the nurse was much more helpful and informative. For being so empty, the place took forever. Finally, some pain meds and I was sent to the hospital. Could have been worse, but could have been so much better.M LittleI was diagnosed here last Sunday with pancreatitis. the pain has only gotten worse this week so this morning I went back. The dr asked my symptoms and then told me marijuana causes nausea and pain. I literally stood (half) up and told him I don’t trust drs who lie to my face and walked out. What med school did this idiit go to???Robert SpROCK REGIONAL HOSPITAL IS ACROSS THE STREET!!! I’D GO THERE!!!! I’ve had 2 experiences with this facility. The first one was positive, for the most part. I have had over 60+ kidney stones in my life ( yay me!! :/ ) During the first visit I was attended to, and was treated accordingly. The staff waited to verify my condition before giving me any medication. ( This is understandable in today’s world). I was treated with respect. The second experience, however, is completely unacceptable. Just a few days later, my stone started acting up again. I had pain pills at home, strong pills. After taking them and waiting about 30 min…. the pain was still growing. I didn’t want to take more pain pills. That’s a recipe for disaster. So, off to the professionals. Staggering into the ER, the security guard put me into a wheelchair, and in a few minutes I was in a room. I WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY PATIENT THERE!!! 20 minutes later a nurse comes in, I described my condition and she left the room. See came back in a few moments later, and I repeated that I had a large kidney stone. In a snotty voice, I was told she looked at my chart, and it wasn’t “that” big. .. yeah insult to injury…. Then I waited for 40 more minutes to see the “Dr”, might have been a NrP. She came in and after a little talk offered me ibuprofen!!!! Yep. Ibuprofen, a known blood thinner. I was having a lithotripsy in a few hours. The Dr. was aware of this fact. NO TREATMENT OF MY CONDITION, JUST INSULTS. If I wanted drugs, I had a whole bottle back home. I needed professional care to prevent a possible overdose. But, the good people there did send me a $500 bill for the brief stay at their hotel. Unless Wesley ER takes responsibility for this, I’m going elsewhere next time. AND SO SHOULD YOU.Cathy Ashley⭐️⭐️⭐️I was there June 16. Staff was pleasant, but waited 2.5 hrs from admission to dismissal. I was checked in in the lobby, then checked in by a nurse in my room. Waited again to get x-rays done, then received results after about 40 min.The AmericanI went there due to a late night slip and fall that resulted in a gash in the back of my head. All they did was wipe away enough blood to apply staples, that’s it. No cleaning, no disinfecting, nada. Just staples. And the medical personnel treating me were the most rude and uncaring people I have ever dealt with in my entire life. In contrast, I previously went to MedExpress in Derby for an URI, and received absolute stellar care and treatment. I only wish I had gone there instead of Wesley in reference to the first paragraph above. In short, I plan to avoid Wesley Derby ER as best I can.EqualityWolf GamingI went in for chest pain, it hurt to breathe in. I asked the front desk how much it would cost, explaining I didn’t have a lot of money. Was told my health was more important than the bill. I was put in a room where the heart monitor machine kept malfunctioning, saw the doctor for less than 5 minutes and sent home with a tylenol shot and was billed over 10,000 for a less than a 2 hour visit. The bill was not matching my insurance, in the process of trying to find out why, they sent me to collections. Then to find out 6 months later the hospital was in network but the doctor was out of network and I will be billed the whole amount. My insurance tried to negotiate to pay there portion, but Carepoint Emerg Med- Wesley Medical refused any discount and blew off any attempt of me or my insurance trying to work with them and wiped there hands of me by sending me to collections. Do not go here!!!Kara SmithBoth doctors i saw accused me of abusing IV drugs. First of all I would NEVER in a million year abuse drugs. Period. I have watched way to many people slowly kill themselves with drugs. I was very offended and was in tears that they would even think that. They told me one thing about my test reaults then came back and tried to say it didn’t happen. RUDE RUDE RUDE.. This is the worst experience i have ever had at any Wesley. Someone definitely needs to look into this. And soon. I left with feeling hopeless. Doctors need to be fired from working here or any other Wesley hospital.Jaedyn GrundyThere is 2 woman nurses here they were very rude to my mom we’re here because she might be having a stroke and has a bad headache they won’t give her no pain meds at allLeighann DockeryWent there with my husband when he got bit by a stray dog. They barely cleaned the area that should have been cleaned, and now has to go and get the infection removed. I was recently there when I broke my nose, waited a full hour, and was told a broken nose is not important, even though when I arrived they were cleaning a room to get me in. This place is a disappointment. Do not recommend at all.Victoria McClardI went in for bad chest pains and not being able to breathe. Got to the front desk and the lady kept yelling at me because I couldn’t speak up due to not being able to catch my breath. Finally got back into a room and told them what was going on. Took 1 X-ray and blood work and was sent on my way. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I went in the er for pain and not catching my breath to walking out in more pain and not being able to catch my breath. Need again will I come here just to be sent on my way in 30 minutes and waste my time.Kiela NdioneI called looking for Medi express to have my daughter checked for strep, there was no test done but they prescribed Antibiotics and charged me $150. I explained that I was at the wrong place and they told me there was nothing that could be done since she had looked in her mouth. Bottom line I could have paid $30 if the lady at the front desk would have been actively listening when I said I called urgent care and they told me to come in. This could have been all avoided now I’m so upset writing Corporate. At least give me $150 worth of service. Hated the whole experience if I could have given no stars I would have. I feel taken advantage of a mother in distress.Julie GoetzThe staff is horribly rude and make it obvious they would rather be doing literally anything else. I took a co-worker here, a frail elderly woman on oxygen, after she had a fall and hurt her knee. She was in so much pain she was crying out and could hardly move. I went inside to ask for help getting her into a wheelchair and there was no one even at the desk. Then when I asked for help they acted as though it was an annoying request. My co worker kept desperately asking for oxygen and crying out in pain and they were annoyed by the fact that she needed help. Left her laying in the room for almost an hour with no pain relief. When the nurse finally came with a morphine shot she was so rude, rolled her eyes, sighed and slammed the door. After all that, she was sent home with no treatment whatsoever and told to see her regular doctor.Don’t mind me I’m just a New personRude, uncaring, unfriendly, inhospitable… The are many adjectives one could use to describe my experience here, not one of them is positive. The establishment itself is clean and modern, but then again it is still fairly new, so that’s not saying much. I took my son here, who had been up all night crying with a fever and a very painful earache. I would normally have taken him to his PCP, however, their office is closed on Fridays so we went here, instead. The physician we were assigned to had a bedside manner that was completely abhorrent. He kept asking questions about my son’s symptoms, then when I would attempt to answer he would cut me off after two seconds and say, “I can’t hear you because of his crying”. He spent a total of probably a whopping 1 minute and 30 seconds in the room with us, yanking and tugging on my son’s sore ear, and then yelling at me to speakup because he could not hear me over my sick child’s crying. He then proceeds to tell me there is nothing wrong with him and to give him some Tylenol. His supercilious demeanor was completely unacceptable to say the least. We then sat in the room for 15 more minutes waiting for Tylenol and Motrin, all the while my child was crying out in pain. The nurse that finally came in the room was almost as obnoxious as the doctor had been. She was haughty, arrogant, and clearly did not want to be bothered with administering medication to patients, or anything else for that matter. I am employed at a very busy medical office in wichita, and if our doctors/nurses/staff treated our patients with such an absolute disdain and disregardance of compassion as these people do, I would be utterly ashamed. After reading the many reviews regarding this establishment, it is clear that Wesley Medical Center has no intention of reprimanding such deplorable behavior from their staff at the Derby clinic, or else they would’ve already done so. I only wish I’d have read the poor reviews prior to subjecting my child to their inadequate care.W C⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWhat a great team! I took a tumble off a horse Saturday morning and went to Derby ER for assessment of my injuries. The entire team starting at reception, Dr. Holland, Brooke, billing, CT, and check out was amazing (wish I had all names to mention). All staff took great care to make me comfortable, showed great patience and understanding. I was able to see the doctor in less than 5 minutes and all tests were run in a reasonable amount of time. I certainly do not wish to need their services again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to use Wesley Derby ER. Highly recommended! Thank you for fixing me up today!Norm RohrerSaw a Dr. for an hour, received a bill for 9000$, found out after the Dr. wasnt qualified to file for insurance, had to pay cash for his services. Felt like a vicim of a financial crime.Brandy Severson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI walked in thinking I was gonna be there for 2 hours and was in and out in less then 45mins. They listened. They were kind. They are all awesome!!! Kudos to all staff, yall are amazing!!! Thank you for what you do everyday!!!Jeremy Lucas⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEveryone from Dr.C to Adam was exceptional exceptional !! Treated myself and my family like we have been long time clients . Highly recommend this placeTheresa AndereggWas yelled at and he put his hands in my face multiple times in front of my young daughter. I tried calling for a nurse to come in so he would stop and nobody came my brother got out of the door he was trying to kind of block and he followed him to the nurse’s station he then laughed and said “guess she doesn’t like me”. This because I told him that I know blood work won’t show an impending seizure, I have epilepsy. But that as a medical professional I do expect to be treated with respect and receive help if I come to the hospital. See where that got me.Fuzzy DragonThis place for me doesn’t even deserve a star. To me they act like they don’t even know what they are doing, they sit around and screw off almost the whole time. Every time I’ve went here they had never helped me. Yes, it’s an ER but no matter how small the issue is they should fix and solve whatever problems your having. From the tiniest UTI to a stroke or a heart attack. They should do their job no matter what! They are doctors!Annalee Adams2.6 as a rating for a medical facility ? Wesley needs to purge this location. I WOULDN’T EAT AT A DRIVE THROUGH Theatre LOCATION with a RATING LESS THEN 4 so I am sorely disappointed in myself for thinking otherwise . Take customer feedback seriously guys I am here in the afternoon on a Saturday , staff is standing gathered at the desks chatting..I literally have no choice so I’m here but I don’t recommend coming to this location even as a last resort . It’s my first time so I can say that without hesitation STAY AWAY Nobody smiles very unfriendly . Ok it’s getting worse , Sarah comes in and suggests I take some sort of medicine meanwhile No test was ran ? Why are you having me give specimen and yet are assuming if I wanted a hair brained diagnosis I would’ve googled and over the counter treated. ? There is a chance that I may Be pregnant so I definitely want to make sure that medically I am doing fine. Update : 5:38pm Crystal comes in to take my insurance card promptly, I haven’t even been diagnose or treated yet ? I realize fast…this location is primarily concerned with taking money and that’s just the bottom line , I don’t see where theirs a genuine care for patients or rapport. I was told to self perform my specimen collection , no it wasn’t just a urine test . After the tests were ran the first panel came up negative for anything being wrong . After they informed me of this, it was insinuated that maybe I didn’t perform the tests thoroughly enough and as a result the tests came back unable to show symptom . Thereafter Dr.Duoosum ( African gentleman) asserted that they could do the specimen collection for me and re test .So, not only did they fail to simply do the job of collecting my culture their self in the first place !!!! They insisted of me doing it , ??? Then wanted to re test ultimately performing more test that my insurance would then be cheated into , charged for twice !!!!!! Thus — wasting my time , any other establishment performs this test their self . !! Never have I ever been in charged of collecting cervical cultures myself let alone do it correctly without being in optimal position with the right equipment ? I will be dissecting the invoice sent to my insurance so help them GOD— if it reflects (( performed a pelvic exam )). That would be insurance fraud , because they did not do it , no speculum was used no lubricant no equipment was used to perform a pelvic exam nor was there any staff present so I certainly don’t see how they could charge for that. I did the exam , and they only tested the result , This complaint won’t stop here I’m informing my insurance company of this blatant disregard.Lisa McElwain⭐️⭐️Had to go for a 3 day migraine that I had been unable to break with prescribed medications plus had a sinus infection that was being treated by family practitioner. Nurse starts asking questions as to what I am given at my family practitioner office. I state Phenergren and Demerol. At that point she puts down her pin turns and laughs and says we don’t have Demerol here. I turn I said I did not ask for Demerol you asked me what my doctor gives me. I found this to be very inappropriate and I have worked in the medical field for 36 years. I am also a Paralegal. I realize there are drug seekers but that is the reason for K-tracs which had they bothered to check is clear the only controlled substance is TRAModol. They also asked if I went to the ER often for migraines. This is only the second time the first time was 30 yers ago. Thankfully the APRN has has migraines and I did receive treatment. However, this is the last time I will ever go to Wesley. I have been told by previous employees of Wesley that this is their attitude towards people in pain or people with migraines. THIS IS A POOR STANDARD OF CARE.Jennifer Dean12-17-18. My 19 year old, sweet daughter went to this place because she thought she was having a life-threatening seizure. A friend was driving, and all the sudden she has a seizure. He took her here because it was the closest. When her friend got her in a wheelchair and into the place, the receptionist was rude and snobbish. When she was seen by staff, they asked her repeatedly if she had taken any illicit drugs. Which she was not, and does not do. She told them she was on an antidepressant for Major Depression. Which one of the side effects of the med is SEIZURE. They never did a PERRLA test. They told her it was an anxiety attack. My daughter has had anxiety attacks before, she knows what they are like. She told them this. Again, they as if she took any illicit drugs. They were rude and unprofessional. They hooked her up to BP machine, threw a warm blanket on her and walked out. 30 minutes later, as she was still shaking from having the seizure, they told her she was fine and to go. So, $170.00 for a warm blanket and cold- hearted treatment. She is following up with her doctor today. Never go to this place, unless you like torture. UPDATE: The bill for this humiliation finally came. It is 667.00 total, minus the 170.00 she paid, so approximately 500.00. She plans on disputing this. It is outrageous. She has insurance, bit a 2500.00 deductable. Shameful!james eshelmanWe took our 5 year old and There customer service sucks! Worst customer service I have every had at any medical facility ever. I wouldn’t take my pet to them! They charged us $490 for absolutely nothing. They didn’t do anything at all then the Ladie tells us if we pay upfront it will be $115 total that’s it no more bills ever we confirmed with her! So we paid the $115 to sit for over 2 hours and answer a couple questions that’s it. We get a bill in the mail for $490 , we called Wesley and after 3 weeks of waiting for a answer my wife calls them back and they said the lady that told us $115 total is saying she never said that. “She is a liar! Wesley said there was nothing they could do except ruin our credit! They are criminals! They get away with ripping people off or they will ruin your credit. I thought it was a good thing for derby to have at first but after my experience I would tell people to go somewhere else if possible! And get a receipt and have them write and sign it paid in full!Joey NewtonWorst er to go too the staff was rude and didn’t helpMayson Cornejo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad to take my 10 yr old son in tonight. We got taken to a room right away and everyone was super nice and helpful. He is doing much better & I appreciate the way they handled everything!April MoodyI have unfortunately gone here several times as it is the closest place to me. The staff is always rude and make you feel very much like an inconvenience. After my experience last night I knew I had to write a review. Last Saturday evening 6/30 I was involved in a very traumatic car accident that left 2 people deceased. First responders gave me the children that were in the vehicles to take care of while they tended to the more critical. I was very very lucky to walk away from that as a large Jeep Wrangler rolled over my car. Then comes yesterday, July 7th. The day of my daughters birthday party. Coming home from the grocery store someone ran a red light and t boned me very hard. I went to Wesley ER as I was in pain but also having a massive anxiety and trauma attack. They checked me into the room and checked my vitals, then they left me alone in the room balling my eyes out from what I had just been through these passed few days. (. Not to mention the emotions I was feeling from this happening on my daughters birthday party) After an hour passed I called the nurses desk to ask if they could Bring me anything to calm my nerves and calm me down. The nurse replied with the usual “I will ask the doctor” another hour and a half passes with me laying there alone In trauma crying, while I get to hear all the nurses laugh and joke as loud as possible. I finally went to the nurses desk to tell them I was leaving because I could cry at home. One nurse replied with”This is a very busy ER and the doctor will get with you shortly” if you have ever been there you know it’s not an extremely busy ER. When the doctor came to tell me he was releasing me, he made it pretty obvious not one nurse asked him to give me anything to calm me down. He did end up giving me 2 Ativan. The lack of empathy from these staff members is unimaginable. They were treating me as if I was asking for pain pills or some other ridiculous requests. I was in severe shock and trauma and just needed something to calm my nerves. The fact that they let me lay there for 2 hours crying from trauma is in humane, and I hope none of them ever have to experience what I have experienced this week.Larry Matthews⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent Care!Arella LangeDon’t waste your time, doctor told me he didn’t want to waste another hour of both our times for a lab test he should have done with the first set. The nurses showed honest care more than the doctor. He just didn’t do anything, I can’t believe he got that job.Jesse Meisch⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis was the best ER experience that I have ever had. My 2 year old daughter dislocated her elbow and they were so friendly from the minute we walked in the door. The staff gave her stickers, blew bubbles to keep her mind off her arm, and gave her a toy to play with. They were able to reset her arm & delivered amazing service in the process. I would definitely recommend this ER to everyone. I couldn’t believe that there were negative reviews on here. We had a great experience!Idemi Grajeda⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCut my hand today, wasn’t sure if I needed stitches. Nurse practitioner Casey was amazing & so was my nurse! Got me all stitched up & out the door!carrie chesickBig mistake going here. I should have went to urgent care instead. Background: I am 50 years old. In June, I took a nasty fall, taking the full blow from the arm of the couch to my face, courtesy of my 11 year old disabled granddaughter. I looked horrible. Bruised, scraped up, etc. I told more than one nurse and Dr I had IBS and a diagnosed ulcer. I could not take anything ibuprofen based. So, they bring me in an 800 mg ibuprofen! They apply a neck patch, because I also sustained a neck injury when my head SNAPPED back on impact. I told them it wasn’t working because the injury was above my hairline and the patch doesn’t stick to hair. I did recieve an xray to insure my neck wasn’t broke, I will give them credit for this. After all this, they sent me home with 3 prescriptions. Any guesses? Ibuprofen, pain patches and a muscle relaxer. I only filled the MR because I didn’t feel like adding severe stomach pain to my list of problems. After 2 days of taking the MR, I was still in horrible pain. Googled the med….NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ACUTE NECK INJURY! Finally got into my regular Dr on Tuesday, ER nightmare was on Friday. Basically, I received damn near no care. I wasn’t listened too. I left there in pain and horribly frustrated. Now they want $1,000. Never again will I go here. Sidenote: I understand there is a pain pill problem right now but a simple call to my Dr or a blood test would have proven that my visit was legitimate. I was in pain and continued to be for another 4 days. Where is our medical fields compassion?Grace Hills⭐️⭐️Went there in March at 11 pm. Staff was friendly, but when they wanted to draw my blood, they started with the veins in my hand even when I pointed to the exact spot that I get my blood drawn from. They tried my hand veins, the opposite arm, and FINALLY where I pointed them to in the first place. They injected some pain killers and gave me a prescription. Fast forward and I have a $1,300 bill when I could have just taken a lot of acetominophen and ibuprofen and it would have done the same thing.Amber Hock⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband cut his hand over the weekend and needed stitches. I dropped him off at the door, and by the time I parked the car and went inside, they already had him back with a nurse. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, even giving our kids crayons and coloring pages while they waited. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes.Kay MeadReally was disappointed in the nursing staff. I read reviews before going and was reluctant but thought to give a chance because they were less busy, biggest mistake of my night, will not use this location again. They seemed to have no concern for my well being, the first nurse forgot a warm blanket, a second nurse forgot my water to where the physician brought it to me. They were not busy at all, so there was no reason or excuse for the neglect. I was concerned for my safety because I felt like I was in a clown hospital where my issues weren’t of concern and the experience just was not there and it needed to be, I didn’t agree with the initial discharge and not even two minutes after their discharge I was readmitted and then transferred to the full hospital who actually took concern for me and the EMS crew was wonderful, thank you.Sarah BlueTook in my 6 month old who had fever of 101.5 and labored b
