Before you go to Westside Regional Medical Center Emergency, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Fort Lauderdale emergency room think.
Shenique Jeremiah⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis emergency room is top notch! I came in because my boyfriend had either a stomach virus or food poisoning (we weren’t sure which one). The intake process was seamless and easy. We didn’t even have a seat in the waiting room and immediately went into Triage and the nurse said it was a busy night. We were placed in a room quickly And the doctor came in 5 minutes later. His blood was taken and he was given IV and other medicines. He felt better right away. Everyone was so nice, from Natalia our nurse to the guy that comes in and gets like your insurance information. From intake to discharge: we were here for two hours. This experience was awesome! Keep up the good work 🙂J Wolverton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat staff..friendly staff..make sure they treat u for everything…dont let u leave until they got all results of your healthMorgan Morgan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis rating is due entirely to Dr. Jaroslaw Parkolap. My mother was experiencing lower abdominal pain and needed medical attention. My sister and I were debating between Westside Regional and Plantation General Hospital. We are extremely protective over our mother and wanted to make sure she got the best care that is available. Although I was not particularly impressed with the triage process, I was however extremely happy with the attending ER physician (Dr. Parkolap). While observing his interaction with my mother, he displayed such a spirit of compassion and sympathy that left me feeling good about our choice to bring our mother to this hospital. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and gentle and I am grateful to him.Don Weber⭐️⭐️⭐️Noise. Bellow room construction from 10am to 5 PM. Very very. loudMaria Bauza⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had an emergency with my mom and she ended up having surgery with Dr chi zhang, i cannot explain the good experience that we have here, everyone was checking on us every hour, the doctor was super good and the nurses from 3rd floor were super kind! I highly recommend this place!Cherry LittyyThis ER used to be a lot better. Staff has gone downhill.Ger WhiteThey don’t even deserve a 1 Star if you want to live don’t go there It took 8 times for them to get an iv in me yes it hurt everytime When hooked up hmm the iv leaked all Over the floor and on me I pressed the button 8 times for the nurse to come in I saw through my door a ent and asked him to help me as my blood started to leak out of the iv line he save my life They also mis diagnoses me smh send me home with the wrong meds and when they gave me morphine they pumped it in so fast it went straight to my hard and and gave me the worst headache every abs it didn’t do anything for the pain it actually made me more awake cause I was scared of dying there The nurses and doctors are rude as all heck they don’t care and they are busy chitchatting at the desk I went for a cat scan and didn’t need on I needed a sonogram which they just wasted money for nothing I ended up in the Er the following night do to same reason I was at this place the night before also you can go online and check your labs which all came back negative so that was profs they messed up abs were wrong even the next Er I went to said yes they are wrong Here’s the best part …, the doctor or nurse practitioner never introduced herself so I have no clue what here name was I will be contacting administration and the board of directors patients have rights Don’t allow them to mis treat you Also the never gave. Me another iv bag cause they didn’t want it in record that it was set up wrong as the nurse would of been fired you should be in the Er if you can’t simply set an iv properlyPatrick Roney⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad triple bypass surgery there in 2002 on a November Sunday afternoon. Dr. William Bailey saved my life. Most memorable time was this little nurse holding my hand for over an hour while waiting for my wife to arrive from southern Miami. She was an Angel from Heaven for giving me comfort during a very scary time. Wish I knew her name. To all of the staff in the hospital, Thanks and I love you all.Gillian Taylor⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis was my first ER experience and I must say I was very skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised. From the intake nurse to the registration nurse, Roza, The CT Scan Technologist Toni and Dr Wilkerson, everyone was so nice and professional. The place was clean and did not have that hospital smell. My wait was also very minimal at each stage. Very happy about this experience.Rox Lauren⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve always had such a great experience every single time I’ve come to Westside. I recently went to Broward General because of some bad stomach pain and waited an hour without being seen. Upon arrival at Westside, I was taken to the back right away and given an X-ray to determine I was seriously ill. I don’t know what I would’ve done without Westside. Every nurse I’ve encountered has been so great to me. Stephanie in ER. 3rd floor nurses: Tiana, Paige, Melvi & Danielle have all been so wonderful. This will always be my first choice. Amazing hospital! Anthony LiuzziMy wife went in on New years day with excessive bleeding from her mouth. Long story short they told her to go contact a hematologist and she may have a blood disorder that could cause internal bleeding. Then they released her. Finding a hematologist was impossible until 1/3. He told her that was completely wrong she would have to go back to the ER and have them ask for a consultation. He said her never heard of this happening. So horrified after three days of hell and still bleeding she went back. On 1/3 that ER doctor told her she had a cut lip and just use ice. Of course I got two $440.00 bills after that. I wrote a letter to the CEO Barbara Simmions as this was simply wrong as all my wife’s doctors told her. She never responded, I had spoken to the ER Director Dr Parkolap previously who did agree it was misdiagnosed after trying to justify the call. He said he would do something about the excessive billing. That never happened so I sent him a letter with a self addressed envelope on 1/5 where he could simply check yes__ no__ if he would keep his word and waive one or both of the bills. He never answered and now we got notices / threats from a collection agency. I am pursuing this with the State but this is really bad. Patients are not cattle and you don’t release anyone with blood pouring out of their mouth you treat them. The staff found this somewhat humorous. We were polite and professional during all of this. More to come as we prepare for battle.Elizabeth Edwards⭐️⭐️The staff seem frustrated. I have had several experiences with them and they seem racist. They leave bloody/used items behind and will walk in/out of your room without speaking. I asked the doctor about doing a test and he said if it’s not acute problem they can’t. I only recommend going here if your dying. In fact, I would recommend plantation general first (and that’s sad). This hospital needs better customer service training and need to clean up behind themselves.Erick BruceWestside Regional was very helpful in the ER and the ER staff is amazing. Once my father-in-law was admitted to ICU it went down hill. My wife went in to see her father and immediately noticed he wasn’t comfortable. If it wasn’t for his daughter noticing he would’ve slept in soiled sheets, his feet were cramped down to the bottom of the bed, he was dehydrated and needed his IV cleaned. The nurse barely spoke English and my wife explained everything over again to her dad. The nurse had the audacity to ask if family was staying overnight !! Because she has a new patient coming in. How about you do your job !!! My father has had around the clock care from family. Before we left the nurse Ana said we could call anytime to check in on him.. WELL I CALLED AND GUESS WHAT !!! ANA WASN’T AVAILABLE AND HAD ANOTHER NURSE TELL ME MY FATHER IS SLEEPING. That’s it, just sleeping ? How about his vitals ? How about an update like you promised ?cherie lipskyIt has been one week since my dad passed and I want to inform everyone I can of the horrible experience we had at this horrific hospital. First, I must say as a physician, this hospital from nurses to administration lacked compassion for my father and family members. When we asked nurses for help when my dad wanted to use the commode, their answer was ‘just do it in the bed and we will clean him’. (Took them 1 hour to come) My father was very sick but still had his dignity. I felt helpless in a system that I work on a daily basis. When my dad moved to the floor, he was put in a double room (which is standard at this facility), the nurses were so inconsiderate! They bathed patients at 3:30 am at their convenience and when I complained the nursing supervisor told me I should put ear plugs in my dad’s ears . How uncaring can people be!!!!!! We were with my dad 24 hours a day and would advise all family members to do the same for their loved ones. Unfortunately, my dad got sicker and hospice was the only choice. Vitas hospice assessed my dad and convinced us it was unsafe to bring my dad home for hospice. They promised us special care and hospice at this facility. They fell short of all their promises; even the promise that my dad would be comfortable . It took almost 45 minutes for nurse to deliver any meds. It was a total disaster and I only wished I brought him home to pass in peace. This was the worst week of my life and I will never forget the poor care and lack of compassion a hospital gives to the patient and family members.Wonmi Yoo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was experiencing severe throat pain on one side of my throat and went to MDnowUrgent care on W broward blvd and they wrongfully diagnosed me of having laryngitis without checking my throat and doing a strep test that came out negative, which i would believe as a yellow flag to make a firther assessment of the problem. My boyfriend brought me to the westside regional medical center emergency room and they diagnosed me to have peritonsilar cellulitis and took care of me so well between the blood work, immediate CT scan and discharge, everyone there was very nice and helpful especially because of my stressed and pain state. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Viviano for being so efficient and catching something that was obviously misdiagnosed due to negligence by a different doctor.Ava WatsonIve gone to this hospital on two occasions, and both times it was a disaster waiting to happen. No history obtained, but documented. almost taken to the OR without consent…yes I had to ask them if they need a consent. Pushed IV pain medication so fast I thought I was going to die… I could go on. Don’t go to this hospiatl if you value your life!!!Chriss MartorelliMy husband is trying to recuperate from open heart surgery on the second floor. I mention the floor because I hope it is not as bad on the others. When they dropped him off in his room after ICU, they plugged him up for oxygen and left I had to scurry to get him water and pillows. Then noticed that no info was on the nurses board in the room. I quickly filled out important information like he is hard of hearing and diabetic & my two contact numbers. Shortage of nurses, buzzer not answered, terrible communication with staff and nurses (one lied to cover her tracts) and lack of attention to him. I missed the dr.’s room visits every time. Doctors did not communicate with me (wife) while he was delirious. So I did not get accurate information.Nicole Blackwood⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve been here several times and the service is the best! Great nurses and doctors, treated me with the best care and made me feel so comfortable.Sheik Ikramelahai⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I went to ER today and everyone from the nurses that tend to me was very nice as well as Dr Wilkerson, I want to thank them all very much of the wonderful job they are doing.Cathy RDr was rude and didn’t believe my pain level. Told me nothing was wrong and wouldn’t even run test. A week later i went to a dr and they ran test. Turns out i had cancer. Won’t ever return there.Syia ArbyummiThis hospital is trash. I spent damn near 7 hours here and nobody had yet to see me. I would rather go to an urgent care. The staff barely know who they’re administering medication to. An RN almost gave me Coumadin when i had nothing to do with blood clots. This whole place needs to be reevaluated. Its a mess in here. Nurses barely wash their hands. Hell the damn dr blows his nose and uses hand sanitizer instead of soap!! Save your time and money. Go somewhere worthy. This place is a dump. They take their sweet time and have you wait for hours just for something as simple as blood culture.Ana EsquilinOur loved one dying and the staff just so rude. Everytime I visit someone in this hospital, the nurses and doctors are so cold. Never show any compassion. I don’t recommend you use this hospital.george bosquevery bad when they came to take down my insurance information i went there almost 6 months ago and im getting bills as if i didnt have insurance i am not paying 3 different accounts of 500 + until my insurance resolves, this they have managed to resolved 2/3 so far im still waiting on the 3rd but the frustration it brings pisses me off if they would do their job the 1st time i wouldnt need to deal with a visit i was there for no more then 1 hour did scans blood work and i spoke with a doctor each one had their own massive bill unbelievableDonnie BromfieldI went in on the 12/25/16. They did 3 procedures, CT scan, blood work and chest x-ray now the bill is over $12,000, there’s no way these procedures cost so much. The billing department need to be investigated, something isn’t right!!Stephen scott⭐️⭐️I was administered my medication at 3:45am for bp and etc….And then nurse came in 10:45am to give me same meds….I was like hold on I just took these med 3:45am…..She then looked at her notes and said sorry you’re right…..smdh…..lauren clayborneTerrible experience, i was here for 3 days and the schedule system they have here is insane. Dont plan on rest at night because they will wake you up every hour on the hour for nearly no purpose. I had my vitals taken 3 times in the span of 2 hours at 3am. They refused to give me breakfast after 17 hours of no food and still gave me narcotics. I have ulcers so i dont understand why they think that eating schedule was a good idea. I was placed in a room with a patient who yelled and screadmed constantly. They gave me dinner while cleaning her diaper and didnt bother to let me leave l, which ended with me vommiting due to the smell. I am a pre-med student and i can say with out a doubt this is the worst hospital i have ever been too. Go else where if you need rest and recuperation and expected to be diligently attended to.Maria RosselloTerrible experience! I went to the emergency room because I was seeing double after being prescribed Tamiflu but the doctor assured me that was impossible. After a parade of expensive tests, I was diagnosed with diplopia (double vision), which was exactly what I had told them I had! But they never found the cause of it and I was referred to a neurologist who after performing more expensive tests for weeks concluded that my double vision was probably caused by the medicine Tamiflu!Ynot’s World⭐️⭐️⭐️It would have been 12 years that I almost lose my child because of one nurse negligent. I must say thanks to the doctor who was in sight saved my baby life. I had to take my boy at broward general hospital where he end up staying for 1 month.Dalisha DoeThis hospital sucks. Never come here unless you want to die.Ti YayaER nurse was so rude and disgusting to my mother! Please I advise you DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!The nurses bedside education is shockingly inappropriate !Jasmin RamirezWaiting time was ridiculous just to get discharged, nurses complaining in front of patients. A nurse was walking around a room that had 4 patients in it saying, “I cannot be here any longer, get me out of here, I DONT CARE who takes care of these patients” she then looked at me and sarcastically said “sorry (: , thank you for coming” horrible nursing staff, horrible communication between them.M KlugerThis hospital should be investigated for billing fraud. 4hr visit with an-ultrasound came out to $12k. Something is afoot. We are looking into the matter. Spoke with billing department. Rude and unprofessional! Our insurance already paid. So I’m not writing this because I can’t pay. But this isn’t RIGHT! Went to another hospital for the same reason 3 weeks later and the bill was $2k. Plus WESTSIDE hospital is run down. STAY CLEAR UNLESS IT IS A REAL EMERGENCY. Btw I never write reviews. Just thought others should know!Matthew GaddieWorst experience every i was in so much pain and it took them around 20 mins to get my medication. I was suffering from severe appendicitis. The nurses arent friendly either.Carlos EcheverriWorst hospital I’ve ever been to. My unconscious father was admitted to ER around 7am and wasn’t seen by a doctor for more than 12 hours.luz arceVery lazy personal, the had an opportunity to serve the comunity.better, they don’t do it.Patricia Jones⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedmy daughter has been there and got excellent attentionVictoria Davis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Great service I love this facultyLuis Bernardes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedTreat at emergency room for left eye injury ..The staff was friendly and quick.stevemichelle1203⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent attention and friendly staffJen Whitestone⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy favorite ER in Broward.Ignacio Manuel Velez bravoNo parking spaces
