Bill DoeWas there for 12 hours! Yes I said 12 hours! My wife had a kidney stone and we waited in the waiting room for over 5 hours before they even brought us back! Meanwhile my whole family is sick now thanks to waiting around people with cold and flu symptoms!! Way to go er spreading the sickness around! We were told that they were at capacity but when they finally brought us back it was like a ghost town! This place sucks!!Brandy Babnaw⭐️⭐️Not enough coordination! I was there for FIVE hours !! One of those hours was just waiting for the discharge papers after the doctor had cleared me to go home!! It took them two hours to do a blood draw, mind you that wasn’t after I had gotten a room no that was in the lobby. I got a room after the blood work and cat scan. After being here for 3 1/2 hours I did finally get a room and to see a doctor though.KayleeVictoriaxxo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent here for abdominal pain, all necessary testing was competed. They took me very seriously. I highly recommend as a medical professional.Troy White⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve been here over 5 times, and never have had a bad experience.Amazing doctors, and nurses.Florida NativeStaff from the time you walk in the door of ER are beyond rude, same for security. Waiting for over an hour just to be taken to a triage room which was filthy. Baycare has definitely ruined this hospital. I pray that my wife survives this visit.Terry Gier⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI can’t get over how great of an experience this visit was. This was my first time at WH hospital. I came in with abdominal pain and was seen right away. Got medication, testing and was out in 3 hours with diagnosis- kidney stone The pain sucked, but every person I interacted with was phenomenal! Dr Ardi, nurses Jurelle and Michelle, and many others who’s names I didn’t get. Thank you guys so much for the amazing care, you’re amazing at what you do! Five stars!catherine malkasianNurses were rude in the ER and very disrespectful to my husband. The nurse who took blood from me dropped it on the floor and it spilled on me. She could have cared less The Dr. was questioning everything I said. Told me I didn’t have anemia. Got my blood test results on the way out and my hemoglobin and hemocrit were very low. Three days later I had two units of blood in Lakeland Memorial Hospital. They are under staffed and rude at Winter Haven Hospital.Sean Van Wie⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWinter Havens ER is much quicker, better and roomier than it was before. In and out to get back home. Highly recommend this ERApril Mannion⭐️⭐️I don’t know why they are expanding this hospital they can not handle what they currently have. I just spent 6 hours in their ER to rule out a kidney infection. After 5 hours I FINALLY saw the Dr (who was very cordial) who informed me I still had a an infection and needed a stronger antibiotic. After waiting ANOTHER HOUR for my discharge papers and my prescription I just left. Asked the nurse how much longer she said she didn’t have the papers yet so I just left. I will call my Dr in the morning to ask for Keflex. It absolutely ridiculous that I still need to see another Dr after 6 hours in The ER. I LEFT BECAUSE IT IS 1:30 am after arriving at 6pm The worse part is my Husband was ALSO there for 6 hours wanting to be seen due to an infection that has been in his hand for 2 months. This hospital first treated his hand IN JANURARY! He sat there tonight for 6 hours and NEVER SAW A DR, THEY NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE HAND. This is a disgrace!Lauren Polizzi⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI feel like the reviews are not an accurate representation of this hospital/emergency room. They got me right in, through triage, and admitted so much faster than I even thought was possible. The staff are all so conscientious and thoughtful, they consistently asked what I needed and wanted. They wasted no time getting me scheduled for surgery as soon as possible. Hopefully I do not have the pleasure of visiting the emergency room any time soon, but if I do, or anyone near me does, I will definitely be referring to Winter haven hospital!Denise MccrayIn the ER with my family member, her primary doctor told her to go straight to Winter haven hospital. She have several swollen ankles and was told blood clots. She been waiting 7 hours in waiting now waiting time 12 hours.sandra arnold⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been at the winter Haven emergency room in the past and it was not a good experience but when I had to go there this past week the experience was total a good one.. And the doctor not only made sure everything was explained to me so I could understand he even called me 2 days later to see how I was doing.. Thank you Dr. Mitchell MD…Gachagirl 09 2nd⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery friendly and fast checking in at the emergency room. Drs and nurses very profecional and nice. Also cafeteria open until 2am, with hot food. Others hospitals cafeteria closes at 7pm.Amber JohnsMy stepmom went to winterhaven emergency room Monday October 17 for the first time with her scooter for stomach pain her legs were bothering her and her right arm not being able to get out of bed and bleeding from the rectum and uncomfortable bowls and they sent her home she got home for not even 20 minutes and she was trying to get in the house and fell causing her to hit her tailbone and head on a curb we had to have paramedics to help get her up because she was unable to get up they took her to the hospital and hour later they sent her home in a Uber and the nurses were very rude to her and the driver that she had used all her rides up that the hospital had provided to people who didn’t have a way home for three days this went on her going back up there to get help for all the same things they wouldn’t listen and sending her home with just pain medicine. On Sunday October 23 they finally admitted her after anambulance had to come and get her for chest hurting uncontrollable bowls and bleeding from the rectum and unable to move they had to take her because they couldn’t get a readable blood pressure. Come to find out she was bleeding internally and her kidneys were failing. She started out on the 3 floor in a room and the first few day’ s up there they would take for ever to clean her up when I got there she would be laying in urine and fesies and I would have to ask for clean bedding and help cleaning her up . No this is November 6 she is in sciu. and she’s now on life support fighting for her life in the previous week before she has had 4 major surgery’s a blood transfusion and 11 pints of blood a 4 unit’s of plasma within a matter of a week. If the winterhaven er would have listened she would be doing much better instead of not doing further investigation of her symthoms. She’s now on life support.Lucinda VinesWorst ER experience ever. Not only the wait time but my over all experience. That Dr.Hasandzekaj was extremely rude when he came in to talk to me – made me feel awful for ever even walking in to that place. He never even returned to my room to explain what was going on, he just sent the nurse back with a prescription and discharge papers after a very long time. I ended up just going elsewhere to be examined for my own good. Please, for the health of his patients someone truly needs to check in on this Dr. and evaluatele alHad a terrible experience, not with the ER staff as a whole, but in particular Dr. Hasandzekaj. He was very rude, and in the opinion of myself and my two visitors, should not be interacting with patients. Perhaps he should reserve what medical knowledge he does have for research instead of direct patient care. After two weeks of illness, four days of vomiting, and two days of dark urine, I consulted with a nurse (not at this location) and was advised to go to the ER for dehydration. I was 19 weeks pregnant at the time. The front staff was very helpful, as well as the tech team. Thankfully, I was taken back quickly. However, it stopped there. The doctor entered my room after only reading my triage and basically told me I was there for no reason and would be leaving. He didn’t discuss my condition with me at all. He asked a nurse, who was very kind, to give me a potassium pill and then I suppose be discharged. It wasn’t until I threw up on myself and the nurses arm that any action on his part took place. (After I threw up on her, she advised she would tell the doctor, which she did and later brought in an IV.) I was in the ER for a total of three hours and saw the doctor for maybe seven minutes. Of those seven, three were his initial attempt to remove me, and the remaining four we’re spent chastising me about taking antibiotics. He deduced that I had a virus, for which antibiotics are not useful. I advised that I didn’t prescribe them to myself, but was prescribed them by another doctor, not unlike himself. Was he under the impression that I was a medical professional myself? If so then he surely wouldn’t have treated me like trash.Eric JohnsDONT GO THERE YOU WILL DIE BEFORE YOUR GET SEENFrank CilibertoThis is the most horrible ER I have every been in. To start, it is dirty and the staff members are lazy and non-careing. I would not recommend this place if your life depends on it.David MartinSo far my experience with this hospital is less than positive. They released my father to a rehab last Thursday, he died this Tuesday in the ER at this hospital. Someone from the “eye bank” notified me that there was important news about my dad. REALLY!? THE EYE BANK!!!? NOT the hospital. Their excuse was that they did not have my contact number or info. The week my dad went in after Thanksgiving I could not get anyone to tell me about his condition. His nurse was nowhere near him, his records or the nursing station, his attending physician did not call me or was even available to speak to me. I asked to speak to the nursing station and they patched me through to dad’s room. The admin at the rehab told me that my dad was taken back to Winterhaven Hospital Tuesday morning and that she had heard that he did not survive. The hospital had my name and number from the previous week when he was in their care. And his retirement home had sent all his paperwork and info to them the first time he was there. I have heard from at least 3 different sources that many in that area will not use this facility, they say they would rather go anywhere else for treatment. Also, I was told that he was a very, very sick man when he entered the rehab… IF he was SO sick then, WHY was he released in the first place!!? No one, to my knowledge, even bothered to call his primary Doctor to tell him he had died. I did that today. Risk management was supposed to call me back today and they STILL have not returned my call. For communication, I give this hospital a BIG ZERO!!! I do rate them a single star for having walls and a roof, however. I am sure I will get the standard “I am sorry for your experience please call” blah, blah, blaaah! In my opinion, that doesn’t fly with me… My Dad is DEAD! They should NEVER have released him if he was as sick as I was told he was! I wish for others to read this and consider their options carefully. Oh, and to the Admin you will be hearing from me, this is far from over.kevin rennie⭐️⭐️Long wait , staff not really attentive and waiting room very warm I guess the AC wasn’t working rightKala StalveyLiterlly the worst hospital I have ever been too. They are very rude and you sit in a gown in the waiting room longer than you’re actually being taken care of. They absolutely care nothing about their patients at all. Strongly suggest going anywhere else.Mad Vette⭐️⭐️The waiting room has long wait times, I understand this is because people with no insurance use the ER as their primary care physician, coming in for non-emergency illnesses instead of an urgent care facility or a regular Drs office, this is not the Hospitals fault, they have to treat everyone due to laws..Nancy GodboutHello I was 3 months pregnant back in 2012 I. Lived in lake wales at the time I called 911 and they came to take me to the hospital the guy told me we are taking you to winter heaven because there alot better then lake wales well anyways the nurse was rude i told her im going to pass out! She held me down I woke up burning I wanted a cool wash clothes i asked the nurse and she said no!! The doctor came in to take my baby out of me and the rude nurse told me your baby is this big wow how mean is that?? I finally stoped bleeding and the doctor sent me home dumb ass I went to lakeland hospital and i needed two bags of blood i waited two weeks tho before i went to lakeland hospital they saved my life and I. Would never ever go to winter heaven again!!! There not the best hospitalKristin Segreto⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is THE BEST HOSPITAL we’ve EVER been to!!!! The staff at all times were amazing! Our favorite nurse and tech were Aliana and Chantel!♡ Everyone made my husband and I (a guest) feel completely comfortable and at home for 2 whole days (mon & tues). There was even sleeping accomadations made for me to stay the night with him! This is my husbands 3rd spinal surgery and we can definitely say this is our best experience in the past 10 years of surgeries and mishaps! We both highly recommend this facility, staff and Dr. Sachs!!! Such a great experience for such a rough surgery. ☺Nancy Holley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIncredibly amazing staff and very cleanShareiya Figueroa⭐️⭐️⭐️I wanted to give higher stars because staff is very attentive. I knocked off two because first of all, the lady at the signin desk was very rude. I came because i couldnt breathe and was blacking out. I tried my best to give her my social but she kept interrupting and not listening. I was struggling and she kept yelling. Then i wrote it down and didnt even look at it. She kept telling me to tell her. After that rough experience everyone else was amazing, attentive and explained everything fully. I was admitted for the night because i was told by several nurses and a doctor that i had pneumonia. Next day they took xrays and another dr. went over them with me and even showed me where the pneumonia was. A few hours later i am seen by a “dr” from infectious diseases. I found out she was actually a Nurse Practioner. She was rude, didnt want to really hear me. She said I was coughing because of my retum. What? She rold me i dont have pneumonia, nothing is wrong with me. She used innopropriate language while talking to me, no xrays to show me that i disnt have anything in my lungs( like the other actually dr. did thats how he showed me i had pneumonia) and pretty much told me i am here for absolutely no reason. Also, argued with me about my tabacco use, by the way I do not use tabacco. I hate even being around the smell of cigerettes. Other than that the staff were amazing in the er and on the 3rd floor. Also, my doctors were wonderful, professional and explained everything clearly. Cheryl cleaned my room she was wonderful and professional.Susan KeeneMy mom was suffering a stroke but was left in the waiting room paralyzed on one side for hours without seeing a doctor.Jim P⭐️⭐️⭐️If you are not really hurt bad you will wait a whileTracy Todd⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I went in to have kidney removed, and they were very organized. Not a long waiting period and medical team suited my needs during my stay.Maria LlanosWorst hospital don’t come hereAndres GodoyI called the ER to find out if there was a long wait time, and the rude lady told me “I can’t give you that information” so yeah I’m going to a different hospital with my swollen, tired and cranky baby, and that 1 star is really a 0, wait times is not covered under HIPPA law inform your employees on what is.TrulyTatiI wish I could give negative stars terrible place to be in . I got into a car accident nine months pregnant and they stick me on a bed in the hallway by the janitors closet and find the nerve to tell me about a 3 to 4 hour wait for a checkup V Four2o⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Friendly stafgJuan JaimesThe worst hospital ever!!!!Jose L.
