Winthrop University Hospital Reviews

Before you go to Winthrop University Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Mineola emergency room think.

Jamie Henriquez Hey guys just took my mother to the ER and I’m baffled of how much Winthrop has changed!!! literally a mill. I’m so disappointed Winthrop had been a phenomenal hospital for so many years for NYU to just treat patient like cattle unbelievableTim Bhagrattee The ER staff should not be working unsupervised. The receptionist thought it would be a good idea to make fun of me in front of everyone in the waiting area and I the service was very subpar.Leonardo Granados⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI visited this ER during 4 hours in a Sunday; different people attended me and I only have words to say thank you for such kind of professionalism and respect, regardless of the amount of people asking for urgent medical attention. Well done; hats off TisforTanya 3 hrs and still waiting for my 6 yr old daughter to be seen as I watched an employee walk in with her daughter and husband and be seen immediately. So unless you work here there’s nothing called service. The do offer you a warm blanket to make up for the poor service. Stay far away from this place. No Emergency service. You’ll be seen faster making an appointment with your primary care dr. This place Sucks. 1 star reviews seem to be the Normal. If only i could give no stars at all.Sam Alb Worst. Experience. Ever. The staff was SO rude, the nurses were inattentive and combative when trying to ask questions about my mother’s care, the doctor didn’t even have the courtesy to speak to us face to face post procedure, we had to beg to see our mother post op, the girls at the desk were cursing at patients/families over the phone and rolling their eyes when families would ask for an update on their loved ones. The doctors wouldn’t even answer our questions and expected us to know everything on our own and got very short with us and interrupted us many times. Would not recommend. Definitely would not go back.Gam Luk⭐️⭐️Disgusting ER. I actually saw dead giant roaches in the ceiling light fixtures. Only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the nurses and techs are lovely and hard working. Otherwise, this place is like a time warp to what hospitals must have been like 40 years ago in the worst parts of town/city. My family member went in with chest pain and they made him wait over an hour and half in the outside waiting area before getting into ER. Even had the nerve to have him pay BEFORE ever seeing a doctor. Then, when he was taken to ER they put him in a chair for the entire time and never put a heart monitor on him because, and this is a real quote from the doctor, “there weren’t any beds available.” Since when does an ER in the 21st century need a bed to put someone on a portable heart monitor? If you care about your care or your loved ones care, take the extra 10 minutes to drive to North Shore on Community Drive. Thats a world class ER.catherine Jones⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad surgery everyone was great. Best nursing assistant was nadia and best nurse was erick. Love it heresteve aylward I wish I could leave zero Stars, our second trip back because they messed up the first heart procedure, so we were told to be here 3 hours before the procedure after five or six hours we were told it would be several more, and also instead of going home after the procedure they forgot to notify us that we had to stay overnight, after two more hours it was all set on the way in oh no not quite the room wasn’t cleaned for the procedure so my wife had to sit in the hallway for a half an hour why they cleaned the room, if anybody knowingly comes to this hospital you should have your head checked run away!;;;;; As fast as you canAdrian Aviles⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedshort wait to see the doctor. quick diagnosis and treatment.Terence Stukes Came to this hospital on April 6 2019 Cause my mother was in a car accident. They keep us wait for almost 4 hours . 9pm until almost 1am . Front staff in emergency area only deals with you if your Spanish or Indian. If your Black you have to wait like your insurance is no good. Mother possibly bumped her head in the accident and they say that’s not an emergency. Will not recommend this hospital.Tammy Yu The emergency dept staff is rude and despicable. You go there seeking aid and they treat you like dirt.Samantha Andrade Don’t ever come to this hospital. I was with the worst pain ever in agony, got to the ER at 3pm and didn’t leave until 3am next day.. had no answers from doctors , nobody was checking on me, had to wait hours and hours for someone to even come and ask if I was okay. After being released from the hospital the P.A Mary B Wolter told me she was going to put in the prescription to the pharmacy, I went to the pharmacy around midday and the prescription was not in. I called them they hung up the phone on me twice. I called a third time and they told me that there’s no one that can put in the prescription that I’ll have to wait until a provider can look at my chart and that they’ll give me a call but not sure around what time that will be. IT IS THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER.Anam Baig Waited 5 hours to get my toddler checked and he was crying 75% of the time we were there.Faith Smith Waited for 3 HOURS with my niece to be seen by a Doctor as she waited in agony. They cleared out the waiting room and still we waited…JD Azcona This is the worst hospital do not come here bad serviceWilliam Gutierrez 7 hours and not a word from this doctor. Still waiting!!!David Amatulli⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFast service
