Before you go to Woodhull Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Brooklyn emergency room think.
Logan Streeter⭐️⭐️⭐️The er and waiting area was really nice clean and quiet. There were a few very exceptional nurse’s doctors, and other staff…. They were friendly, polite, and informative. The only thing is the speed which was surprisingly offset by how pleasant the staff was….Vidal GarciaPersonnel was talking and laughing when patients was waitingLanise LondonWoodhull hospital Emergency is the worst. They will have you waiting for hours before they see you and not do anything for you. I just sat in emergency for 7 1/2 hours for them to give me Ibuprofen. They didn’t even explain what they thought my problem was. I had to probe to find out only for them to tell me to follow up with an ENT. They didn’t look at me or give me any sort of examination. Also, it smells in there and cops are constantly bringing in the arrested injured. Which is fine but causes disruption from lots of disgruntled patients. My advice is, if you not immediately dying, go somewhere else.Ayobola OyefesoVery very bad place. Waited over 2 hours just to have the doctor checking his email while i was in severe pain. Then another hour before he could decide on an ekg. In the end, not a single solution was given.Juan Carlos RodríguezThis is just the worst. Please, don’t go there.Nuntium TVWorst hospital you ever go. Nasty and dirtyMony LoveWorst hospital I’ve ever been too soo nasty stinks unprofessional and a bunch of crazy ppl that come in …. went in at 6;30 got out like at 4am some real bs never go here I thought Lincoln was bad !! Nope not at all at least they check up on you thereDavid HensrudThe worst hospital I’ve ever been too. My girlfriend got submitted for an attempted suicide. She was just having a bad night. They kept her against her will over the weekend because the doctors wouldn’t be there to release her. The nurses didn’t know what they were doing and didn’t have any control over the other patients. She was also placed in with the criminally insane and had creepy men touching themselves while looking at her and making passes at her and the nurses didn’t do a thing about it. There was also a complete lack of communication for what was going on. They forgot to tell her she could go so she was there longer than needed and was also only released to me and I’m not even family. Now they call me to try an check up on her. Again I’m not even family. Seems a bit lacking in the legal department.Borado ProductionsZERO!!! Absolutely DO NOT GO INTO THIS HOSPITAL! All they want is your money and they DO NOT FOLLOW THE STANDARD of care. This place is inhumane. Will be calling the medical board of New York. This should not be tolerated.Samantha MillerThis is by far the worst hospital in New York. I don’t even know how it’s possible for a hospital to operate this way when people’s actual lives are in their hands. I got there with chest pains and left with chest pains and a whole lot of wasted time. The staff-minus a solid few-are terrible. They seem like they don’t even care about anything. It was severely disorganized and actually really scary to watch as I lay there worrying about my heart.Darielle SerranoNot one person could give me any information, everyone just transfers you from department to department while contradicting the other departments. Either no one in this hospital knows what they are doing or no one wants to do there job. For a hospital where people’s lives are in jeopardy everyday it’s horrible. They definitely need new staffing or a new hospital director.Tyler Cynthia JacksonTHIS PLACE GETS A 0 – CORRUPT HOSPITAL This hospital is definitely corrupt, None of doctors or nurses are doing what they are supposed to be doing. They don’t have any records of anything going on, I went there and they didn’t even take down any of my information, the staff is sitting at desk and not attending to patients. They have people locked up in criminally insane holding that are innocent and are being tortured. Please beware of this place and what goes on behind closed doors. Do not bring your kids here or children. I saw a girl shot from the back and being handcuffed to the bed, she was bleeding through her scrubs, nobody was attending to her and there was no screen or doors covering her. patients are dying. Someone needs to look into this place.Brendaliz duvernayPediatric ER.. do not bring your child here. lazzy staff non of them care for there patient doctors are careless. very bad experienceAustin KingThe Woodhull ER is disgusting and smells terrible. The overnight nurses were incredibly lazy and rude – they wouldn’t even acknowledge me asking them a polite question about when the person I was seeing would be discharged. They would pretend not to hear me, then go back to their desk. Patients were bleeding, walking around naked, peeking behind curtains. No water available. Had to wait over 4 hours to get discharged, which was a remarkable display of incompetence with nurses yelling at each other over god knows what. Oh and NO SECURITY – I was able to just walk in. I’ve been in better run hospitals in 3rd world countries. The hospital administration should all be fired and replaced.Fun with RafaelHealth and lives of every patient are important, inside the emergency room information, its like most of medical practitioner are medical clerk spending more hours in front of computer and chatting too , rather than giving assistance to patient. Go get in and check it out..Tranquil WatersWoodhull Hospital is a detox center, not a hospital. The ‘hospital”, is a toilet. I used to work there as a RN so I should know. The NURES and so called doctors are incompetent. I so glad that I quit when I did. I hope that NYU LANGONE straightens out this living nightmare very soon, because NYU is top notch, classy institution, not a none functioning toilet that Needs to be FLUSHED!! Shay AMy grandmother was denied treatment after seven hours of waiting. Horrible “nurses” and hospitality management.Cheryl UnderwoodI don’t even want to give this place one star. The worst hospital experience ever. My son went into anaphylactic shock while visiting NY because of an allergic reaction and had to be intubated and in Medical ICU. Once off the ventilator twice he was brought food to eat that he was allergic to and was clearly listed on his record. It was even on the paper on the tray that was brought to him. There was no since of urgency when he went into shock again and had to be intubated a second time. The nurse getting the epinephrine was taking her time even the nurse in the room with my son was getting frustrated and yelled at her. My son’s IV had dried up blood all around it all over his arm and the doctor said your IV is a mess we need to get that cleaned up. That was in the morning and around 3 o’clock that afternoon a nurse finally came in and cleaned it up. There was dried up blood on the bed rails and floor and my son said one of the nurses ask another nurse “is that his blood”? I flew up from SC to be with my son. There was one chair in the room and his friend was in the room visiting and I ask for a chair for him and was told no. “One chair per room. I give you a chair I have to give everyone a chair” That was what I was told. When they extubated my son they did not hook him back up to the monitor at all. So for a couple of hours after being on a ventilator his oxygen, heart rate, pulse, blood pressure etc. where not being monitored. I finally went over and hooked it all up myself. He was not hooked up to IV anymore so was not getting any fluids and no one ever brought him water or anything. I finally had to go ask for some water for him. Dr. Amad? was very kind and ordered an allergy panel to check what all he was allergic to. We found out after being discharged that no one ever did the test. It was ordered and never done. My son kept having panic attacks after being off the ventilator and one of the nurses thought he was having withdrawals from drugs and ask if he was on methadone. Just the worst experience ever. Avoid this hospital!!!!Taysha RiveraOne of my friends lost her baby because of Woodhull, She was overdue with her pregnancy 2 and 1/2 weeks and doctors and nurses didn’t even tell her about an emergency C-Section, all they kept telling her was that she can stretch out the time so she can reach 10cm to do Vaginal instead of C Section. She has been in there for too long. After she gave birth to her baby, with no heartbeat, they discharged her same day like that is no way of showing that they even tried. I do not recommend this hospital to ANY BODY, because of their negligence, her baby isn’t here.shamyra rattrayIf you wanna die quick come here if you wanna live go else where the woooooorst staff everIndia AlexisTerrible experience. This place is medieval and chaotic. Shut it down.Wen ChenIf you value your life or your family members’ lives, do not go to this hospital. The doctor was incompetent, and the nurses are irresponsible. The biggest regret of my life was taking my wife to this hospital for seeking medical assistance during her 20th week pregnancy. My wife was having chills and bad diarrhea with blood in her stool. We walked into the hospital, the information desk instructed us to go to the emergency office. At the emergency admission, the nurse asked how far along was the pregnancy. Her attitude showed irritation, as if I owed her a million dollars. I told her, 5 months. She said she cannot take us in if its 5 months, and directed us to OBGYN. We went upstairs, at the OBGYN front desk, a nurse came to us. I explained to her the condition. She asked how far along with the pregnancy. Told her 5 months. She took out her phone, ran an app, “when is the due date”, she asked. Told her December 4th. She said she can’t take us in because the fetus is one day short from complete 20 weeks . Sent us back down to Emergency room. Back at the emergency room, the same nurse from before attended us. I told her OB send us down. She frowned and and questioned me why didn’t I give her the correct information in the first place. Sounded like I should know their hospital policy instead of her conveying that information to us, the patients. After some long waiting and procedures, approximately 1.5 hour later. My wife finally got a bed and seem by a doctor. She stopped by asked a couple question, and disappeared for 2 more hours. The nurse gave my wife IV, took some blood and left us waiting for the result. When the doctor came back, she inspected my wife’s belly, and brought out a portable sonogram. Located the fetus and saw the heart pumping. “The baby is fine, we can’t do anything”, she said, without checking the heart rates or other standard check ups. She tried to printout a sonogram image. The printer wasn’t working. She checked the power, reset the paper, tried to reprint. Not working. From the way she was handling the machine, she seemed very inexperienced. But at that time, I have no clue what to look for, I took her word. She gave up, and said, “the baby is moving, it’s fine. Nothing we can do since the baby is fine”. Told us to wait for the blood test result, if no findings, she can be discharged. Since my wife just had a monthly sonogram with her OB about 6 days ago, and the 20th week anatomy sonogram was scheduled 4 days later, we decided to be discharged with the doctor’s finding. The anatomy sonogram check up is usually the happiness time for most, because that when OB can determine the baby’s gender. 4 days later, at the check, we found out we were having a baby girl, but the OB also found fluids surrounding her heart. We were send to Queens Presbyterian Hospital for an echocardiography. The baby was diagnosed with Complete Heart Block with severe inflammation to the heart muscle. Later finding showed my wife has SSA-anitbody which should be the cause of the Complete Heart Block. After month of struggles and trying, the baby failed to make it. She never had a chance to see the world. When it comes to a life and death situation such as mine, a knowledgeable doctor and responsible medical institute is very important, cause every decision made could result differently. Woodhull is just not the right one. The nurses are unfriendly, and the doctor was incompetent. The neighborhood may not be extremely wealthy and the patients they receive may contain lots of homeless and mentally unstable people, but that should not be a reason or an excuse to hire irresponsible and incompetent nurses and doctors. All life are equally important and valuable, please treat them right.Grace GallagherThe nurses are rude and don’t like to answer basic questions about your care, they refused to give me my phone and insisted that I had to wait until I was discharged (several hours) to get it back. when I was discharged they gave me a form to sign and told me to “sign first read later” (this was a form binding me to come back for a follow up appointment which I did not want or need) and they never gave me the discharge papers. Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had.jarrett pryorWorst hospital I have ever been to the staff is rude and disrespectful, I waited 5 hours just for them to tell me to use hydrocortisone absolutely rediculus this hospital is disgusting it needs to be shut downTracy GuerreroThis hospital has the worst service and patients care ever.
